Love the fact Uncharted won GOTY but if thats so how did it not win best action adventure game? that just doesnt make sense, if it is the best game of the year then it should have won every genre category it was entered for.
How does Jack Black win a voice actor award….thats not acting when you are basically playing yourself!?!
Also naughty dog should have won best studio, love those guys!
These awards are so inconsistent it almost makes it seem non credible.
Laugh of the night: Megan Fox best female voice over…. really?….really???? I laughed pretty damn hard when i heard that.
The VGA in a whole was pretty shitty. Awards such as best PC and others were sort of hidden and instead more time was devoted to retarded-ness.
VGA 2009 Grade: C-
Thank god MW 2 didnt win game of the year. Im very happy Rocksteady won studio of the year and the announcement of B:AA 2. They really have themselves a good start for the second game and i loved that new trailer and Mark Ha… uh i mean Joker coughing like an old dude.
And yeah its kinda weird to see Megan Fox win the voice over. But i havent checked the video footage, cause here in the Netherlands its kinda late to stay up till 2 AM in the morning for a program that doesnt even air here.
@Bottomglass: Just because you don’t agree with the results doesn’t mean it makes no sense. Uncharted 2 can win Game Of The Year and not other catagories because winning GOTY only means it is the best all-round game, not that all the parts which make it up are the best. Uncharted 2 can be trumped by Assassin’s Creed 2 genre wise because the campain was shorter and offorded less options throughout. But Assassin’s Creed 2 never even attmpted multi-player, had less rubust extras, lower quality graphics (by no means bad graphics) and so on making is a less well rounded game and thus not GOTY. It would be pointless to have a number of catagories if winning one means the game auto wins another.
A couple of things do surprise me though:
1. Flower…I actually really like flower, I just didn’t think it would have the kind of mass appeal needed to show up.
2. The fact that a Transformers movie tie-in game is on the list even if it is indirectly.
L4D2 as the best xbox 360 game? WHAAT!? Sure it’s a great game but I don’t think it’s even near the best game that has been released this year for the 360, just shows how different our taste can be.
Playstation fanboys will be creaming there panites…lol. Just FYI I have to go change mine right now….lol. The list is almost how i voted cept I put MW2 for goty. Oh well I loved uncharted also. Cheers!
