Things in the gaming industry are getting more interesting with each passing day it seems…After the recent bombshells dropped by Sony relating to the PS3 Slim and console price cut, Microsoft fires back by today making the heavily rumored Xbox 360 Elite $100 price cut official. According to Major Nelson’s blog, the price cut will go in effect this Friday, August 28th (in the US) and will be accompanied by a $50 price cut to the 360 Pro unit while supplies last.
So, there ya have it….the 360 Elite and PS3 are both now $299. What a great time for fence sitters to pick up that OTHER system they’ve been thinking about for the last few years, eh?
And both still overpriced in the UK! Just Europe generally. We pay roughly 350 dollars for the 360, 380 for the PS3.
And I’m guessing even more in Norway. Just to buy a new game is about $ 90-100.
