Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is following the footsteps of many and is releasing an all-in-one version of itself. The only difference here is that this isn’t a ‘Game of the Year’ edition, but rather an ‘Ultimate Edition’ package. First being leaked on internet retailers, EA confirmed to the guys at GamerZines that this edition is real and will ship with the following:
- Battlefield 1943
- Limited Edition and VIP Unlocks
- The recent ‘Onslaught’ DLC Mode
This package will go for $59.99, not a bad deal since the regular version is $39.99. 1943 is a kick ass game as well, so you’re making out with a lot of playtime here.
The Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition is slated to ship August 31, will you be picking it up? Or is it too close of a release to the other shooters coming out this fall? Let your voice be heard below!
I would definitely pick this up if it were offered for the PC. I don’t own a console, and probably never will (provided the definition of “gaming console” doesn’t become synonymous with “gaming personal computer” in the future), so the fact that this GotY edition is only available for console gamers is a huge letdown for me.
Oh man, I just bought 1943, and was considering getting this game. If I buy it used for roughly 35$ Ill have to buy the VIP pass (15$) and the onslaught mode and maps (20$). Totaling 70$.. So Im probably better off buying this, and thats not calculating my 1943 purchase. So yeah, this bundle kicks ass!
On another note, I have just got into Battlefield after running my COD MW2 into the ground, and must say I love it. The addition of vehicles and the loss of kill streaks even it out.
Also the recent EA tactic of their VIP pass system is probably going to get me to buy it brand new.
Sounds like an excellent bundle to me. I held off, for whatever reason, of BFBC2 despite loving the first one. I may actually pick this up and burn as many hours as I can with it until the crazy holiday season begins.
I don’t get it all, the so called DLC that is same maps with different game types are included and free on the PC! Just christ sake buy the game and patch it same as the console version without selling air called dlc with it, the onslaught coop mode on the other doesn’t exist for pc at all atleast for now.
DICE/EA has really dropped the ball with the PC community. It feels like they’ve put the PC on the back burner – no announcement of onslaught mode, Dr. Pepper promotion being console specific, still no solid release of 1943 on PC. As a fan of the Battlefield series, I really feel let down. All I’m trying to say is that DICE shouldn’t forget who has made them as successful as they are today.
I could not agree more I have bought and played Battlefield since the first game of the series, Battlefield 1942 that is!
It is truly a let down that they kinda turned their back on the PC community that made them successful in the first place.
I mean as a PC gamer we see it more often that developers do more console exclusive stuff since everyone pirates on the computer, which is sad.
Funny how they have to bundle like this to sell the extras. Most people aren’t gonna pay $10 for something that should have been in the game to begin with.
