So yesterday I had the chance to sit down with SEGA’s Matthew Hickman to check out some new gameplay from the upcoming espionage RPG Alpha Protocol by Obsidian. The walkthrough, which you can check out in full right here, showcased the game’s blend of action and RPG elements while highlighting a few specific ways that you’ll be able to grow your character’s skill set based on how you want to play.
All in all, the game is looking pretty sweet. IMO, the level of success it enjoys will be directly tied to the game’s story and the player’s ability to care about and be immersed in Alpha Protocol’s characters and world.
Anyway, check out the walkthrough and let us know how you’re feeling about Alpha Protocol as we near the game’s launch here in the states on June 1, 2010.

If you learn one thing today, know that EA DICE isn’t shy of taking on the 800 lb. gorilla named Modern Warfare 2. The same day (March 30th) gamers will see the first map pack hit for MW2, DICE will bring out its second VIP Map Pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The new content will allow gamers to tackle Arica Harbor in Conquest Mode and Laguna Presa in Rush Mode.
EA DICE was more than happy to point out that their DLC will be available for all systems day and date (unlike the timed-360-exclusive DLC for MW2) and, further, they’re excited to offer their new maps ‘free’ of charge to ensure everyone can play together. Getting the new maps ‘free’ only applies if you purchased the game new; the same unlock codes that got you the first on-disc maps when BBC2 launched will also score you this one for free. If you picked it up used however, you’ll be shelling out more cash to get the new goodies. Hope you got a decent priced on the used copy to start with…

The first screenshots for the upcoming racing title F1 2010 have appeared. The game is being made by Codemasters, who you might know from their previous racing games GRID and DiRT 2, both of which were very well received by critics and fans alike.
Releasing sometime this September, F1 2010 will feature all the official teams, drivers, and circuits from the upcoming F1 season in addition to the return of seven time world champion Michael Schumacher and the introduction of the new Korean International Circuit track.
Codemasters did release a version of this game last year on the Wii, PSP, and iPhone, but this go-around the game is being designed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The newly HD version in this series is being built with the EGO engine, Codemasters’ proprietary engine that they used for both GRID and DiRT 2.
With a pedigree like that, could this be the Formula 1 game people have been waiting for? Check out the screens in the EBA Gallery!

LucasArts announced at a Game Developers Conference related party tonight that The Secret Of Monkey Island 2 is getting a Special Edition. The Special Edition will contain all of the things you would expect based on the Special Edition of the original Monkey Island, such as high-definition art, remastered music, and the ability to switch from old school graphics to the updated look (an oddly fun device in the Special Edition of the first game).
In addition to the normal trappings, however, LucasArts’ Craig Derrick said that the Special Edition will be getting new controls as well. According to Mr. Derrick, “In addition to the point-and-click interface, we’ve added the ability to move Guybrush around, so you feel more connected to him”.
The Monkey Island 2: Special Editionwill be released on the PSN, XBLA, iPhone, and PC in the Summer of 2010.

Sony Corporation has finally named its new baby – you know, the one with the glowing ball on its head. The name was announced at GDC today, as were some other details. In case you couldn’t figure it out from the title, the new Sony motion controller is called the PlayStation Move.
The PlayStation Move (or the P-Mo, for those of you in the know) will be released later this year in one of three configurations: as a stand-alone purchase for those that already own the PlayStation Eye (which the device requires in order to work), bundled with the PS Eye (for those with a PS3 but no Eye), and as a complete bundle with the PS3 system, the Eye, and the P-Mo. Each configuration will include one PlayStation Move controller.
Also being previewed at GDC are some games that will feature support for the P-Mo, including Little Big Planet, Sports Champions, and SOCOM 4. Also set to feature support for the Move, as reported yesterday, is EA Sports’ Tiger Woods PGA Tour® 11.
No date or price was given for the new motion controller, but it is said that Sony intends to bring the release price in at under a hundred dollars. Click here to watch the entire press conference from Sony about the PlayStation Move.
