DantesInferno_020210Screens
With a week to go until the release of EA’s Dante’s Inferno, it appears that at least one copy of the game has slipped under the radar and into the hands of an individual possessing both a love of DLC and internet movies. Uploaded earlier today, a featurette apparently contained on the game disc reveals the “Trials of St Lucia” DLC which, according to Senior Producer Hans ten Cate, is a “downloadable expansion that brings mutliplayer co-op and content creation to the game”.

At its core, it appears that the content will serve to allow co-op gameplay within custom-created “Trials” that will be uploaded then download and ranked by users via the game’s servers. The content will also feature exclusive baddies and the ability to play as St Lucia who is referred to as Dante’s “Guardian Angel” of sorts.

Per the video, the content is expected to be released on April 29.

Now, while this is still unofficial, we DID get a few new OFFICIAL screens from Dante’s Inferno today which you can check out inside the game’s gallery here on EBA.

Check out the video for the ‘Trials of St Lucia’ DLC after the jump and stay tuned for any more info on the content as it emerges.

Behemoth_BattleBlock
A post on The Behemoth (Castle Crashers, Alien Hominid) official blog has revealed BattleBlock Theatre, previously known only as “Game 3″, for Xbox Live Arcade. The game, which doesn’t have an official release date, is described below:

Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems.

BattleBlock Theater is our upcoming third title for the Xbox Live Arcade. Website to follow in the next few days and as we inch closer to the release of the title we’ll be unfolding more of the story online.

Nice. Words are only so good of course, which is why we’ve posted the debut trailer below as well. We’ll keep you posted on any new details as they emerge.

Vanquish_ScreenGrab
As promised, last night’s GTTV revealed the latest title from Platinum Games. Titled Vanquish, the futuristic shooter was showcased via a live-action trailer featuring mechs, one pissed off politician, and a wickedly armed dude in a combat suite that sorta resembled the main guy from Shadow Complex…Anyway, there was no release window given or even platforms specified, but considering the development studio behind it, we’ll certainly keep our eyes on Vanquish and get you any new details as they emerge. Check out the trailer for yourself after the jump or in HD right here and then let us know what you think in the comments section below.

A post on the official Capcom community site reveals that the Xbox 360 is getting Monster Hunter Frontier in Japan. May will be the start of the closed beta, which will feature online support of the popular PC Monster Hunter game. That’s really all we know at the moment, but thankfully there’s a snazzy trailer to accompany the announcement.

ME2_LaunchTrailer
With the release of BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 just around the corner, today we’re treated to the game’s official launch trailer, which, quite honestly, is pretty freakin’ awesome. Of course, that’s totally my opinion which has been skewed by countless hours on the Normandy spent coaxing little-miss Ashley into my custom Commander Shepard pajamas, but I think most would agree that the trailer gets you pumped while showcasing the game’s story along the way…no matter what your thoughts are on the original Mass Effect.

You can check it out after the jump or in HD right here.

Narrated by the game’s Director Paul Wedgwood, the vid showcases the various facial types, body types, and equipment gamers will have access to. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Brink is slated for a release on the PS3, 360, and PC this September.

Whether you liked it the first time you saw it or not, chances are we can all agree that the Phantom Menace hasn’t aged quite as well as its predecessors (or successors depending on how you look at it). Let’s face it, Star Wars Episode 1 has spent the last decade slipping from pop-culture phenomenon to pop-culture punchline. Now I’m not here to pile on…wait, actually that’s exactly what I’m here to do. But, more to the point, I’m here to share with everyone the miraculous discovery I’ve recently made: I’ve found a way to enjoy the Phantom Menace.

My new found appreciation comes courtesy of a seven-part YouTube review that is at once comprehensive and articulate critique and at another one of the funniest spectacles ever created by the whole of humanity. Whether you love Star Wars or hate it, this review really does have something for everyone (satire and validation respectively). Set aside 70 minutes of your time and don’t plan on drinking any milk…cause its gonna come out your nose.

Parts 2-7 after the jump.

Love it or hate it, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has garnered quite the following over the past several years and inspired more than a few creative works. Well, TheDuoGroup has stepped up to deliver one heck of a fan film, titled “Initiation”, that follows Altair (from the original AC) as he performs the final steps of an apprentice entering the Brotherhood.

Here’s a description:

“Initiation” takes place before Altair has received the coveted title of “Hashshashin.” Like all young men, Altair aspired to leave his mark on the world. After years of grueling training, fear and anticipation course through his veins. Anticipation, because he understands that this is the last right of passage towards brotherhood. Fear, because he knows that though hundreds of apprentices have reached this point, few come back alive.

Sounds cool, but it looks even cooler…Keep in mind that it’s not an official Ubisoft video, so the story is certainly not official, but check out the vid above for yourself if you’re a fan of the franchise and just enjoy it for what it’s worth.
