With the release of BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 just around the corner, today we’re treated to the game’s official launch trailer, which, quite honestly, is pretty freakin’ awesome. Of course, that’s totally my opinion which has been skewed by countless hours on the Normandy spent coaxing little-miss Ashley into my custom Commander Shepard pajamas, but I think most would agree that the trailer gets you pumped while showcasing the game’s story along the way…no matter what your thoughts are on the original Mass Effect.
Folks counting down the seconds until the PS3-exclusive White Knight Chronicles is released in early February will most likely enjoy spending a few of those seconds checking out the below interview which features the game’s US Producer Tsubasa Inaba chatting up the game’s online features.
If you like RPGs, if you like Knights, if you like Chronic, if you like the word “Interweaving”, then you simply must press play…

Bethesda recently released a new video detailing the character customization options in its upcoming (and rather promising looking) Brink. Narrated by the game’s Director Paul Wedgwood, the vid showcases the various facial types, body types, and equipment gamers will have access to. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments section.
Brink is slated for a release on the PS3, 360, and PC this September.
Whether you liked it the first time you saw it or not, chances are we can all agree that the Phantom Menace hasn’t aged quite as well as its predecessors (or successors depending on how you look at it). Let’s face it, Star Wars Episode 1 has spent the last decade slipping from pop-culture phenomenon to pop-culture punchline. Now I’m not here to pile on…wait, actually that’s exactly what I’m here to do. But, more to the point, I’m here to share with everyone the miraculous discovery I’ve recently made: I’ve found a way to enjoy the Phantom Menace.
My new found appreciation comes courtesy of a seven-part YouTube review that is at once comprehensive and articulate critique and at another one of the funniest spectacles ever created by the whole of humanity. Whether you love Star Wars or hate it, this review really does have something for everyone (satire and validation respectively). Set aside 70 minutes of your time and don’t plan on drinking any milk…cause its gonna come out your nose.
Love it or hate it, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has garnered quite the following over the past several years and inspired more than a few creative works. Well, TheDuoGroup has stepped up to deliver one heck of a fan film, titled “Initiation”, that follows Altair (from the original AC) as he performs the final steps of an apprentice entering the Brotherhood.
Here’s a description:
“Initiation” takes place before Altair has received the coveted title of “Hashshashin.” Like all young men, Altair aspired to leave his mark on the world. After years of grueling training, fear and anticipation course through his veins. Anticipation, because he understands that this is the last right of passage towards brotherhood. Fear, because he knows that though hundreds of apprentices have reached this point, few come back alive.
Sounds cool, but it looks even cooler…Keep in mind that it’s not an official Ubisoft video, so the story is certainly not official, but check out the vid above for yourself if you’re a fan of the franchise and just enjoy it for what it’s worth.
This is totally sweet…Capcom is releasing a retro NES-styled throwback title to support it’s upcoming (and rather cool looking) Dark Void. Titled Dark Void Zero, the DSi Ware title not only delivers additional background into the game’s story, but totally plays up the 8-bit theme with an original score, cinematic sequences, and even interactive elements such as “blowing” into your cartridge (the DS mic) to get it to play…How cool is that?
Anyway, if you want some good insight into the project, you should check out this hands-on report over on GameSpot, but view the video below first to get a frame of referrence.
Dark Void Zero is expected to land in January and be available for 500 DSi Points. We’ll keep you posted on any additional details as they emerge.
I don’t know about you, but I haven’t gotten around to playing EA/Pandemic’s The Saboteur as of yet. Not because I don’t want to, but because it’s on the top of my Christmas list and I’d like to give Santa (my wife) the chance to surprise/thrill me without being a jerk and going out to buy the game myself. Anyway, Dtoid has posted a couple of new videos pertaining to the game that are of the live action variety and rather nicely done. Whether you’re hoping to check the game out soon like me or already knee deep in your career as a Saboteur, you can head right here to give em’ a look.

Rockstar has released a rather sweet new trailer for Red Dead Redemption that isn’t so much a trailer in the traditional sense as it is an informational update on the game’s authenticity when it comes to the wild, wild, West and all things cowboy. It’s pretty interesting and shows off a ton of gameplay from what is quickly becoming one of my most anticipated titles of 2010. So if you’re pumped about this game like I am, then I suggest you check it out after the jump or in HD right here. Read the rest of this entry…
As BioWare peppers the net with new videos pertaining to Mass Effect 2, we’re attempting to track em’ down and bring em’ to ya right here on the ‘Axe. Why? Because that’s sort of what we do…Oh, and there’s the whole “this game looks bad-ass” kinda think as well…Anyway, here’s the latest vid, which profiles the Sentinal class from the game, by way of the redesigned folks over at IGN. Enjoy.
IGN has an exclusive cinematic trailer from Mass Effect 2 that is certainly of the “bad-ass” variety. I’d tell you more, but what’s the point when you can just watch it below??? Enjoy!
