Christopher Nolan Planning an Inception Video Game

Alongside the news that Christopher Nolan’s latest film Inception has just grossed $753 million worldwide, Variety also quotes the director on where he’d like to take the property next:

“We are looking at doing is developing a videogame based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can’t fit into a feature film. That’s something we’ve been talking about and are looking at doing long term, in a couple of years.”

Film tie-in game? Nothing new there. Film tie-in game actively developed by the director of said film? Less-common but not unheard of (unless you were fortunate enough to have never heard of The Matrix games). Still, its interesting to see a director like Nolan exploring video games (as opposed to television, for instance) as the medium to further explore the ideas wouldn’t fit or work in a feature film.

Are games starting to get some long-overdue respect or just Hollywood’s leftovers? Sound off below!
