In a continued attempt to give you the loadout necessary to complete an actual covert op, Activision has announced that the Prestige Edition of Call Of Duty: Black Ops will contain a remote control car that comes complete with video surveillance. The car, inspired by the in-game RC-XD, will transmit both full color video and audio back to the hand-held control (there is a small screen on the remote for the video) and will have a range of about 200 feet.
Also included in the Prestige Edition of the game will be all of the components of the Hardened Edition, which are a custom Black Ops limited edition medal w/case, the premium, special-edition SteelBook™ case, exclusive Black Ops Avatar outfit, and four extra playable cooperative maps not in the standard edition.
Although there is no official pricing yet on either edition, Gamestop has the Hardened Edition listed at $79.99 and the Prestige Edition at $149.99. Both will be available on the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360. With the addition of this RC car to the Night Vision goggles you got with Modern Warfare 2, all you need is for Activision to include a silenced pistol with the next game and you will be ready for your first mission!
Call Of Duty: Black Ops releases on November 9th on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and Wii (Special Editions only on the Xbox and PS3).

So can we officially say the collectors editions are getting out of control? I guess Call of Duty 8 will come with an actual soldier.
As much as I dig clever marketing, why can’t companies offer something that actually has some use besides novelty? Maybe give them beta redemption cards for upcoming games from the studio, or maybe something unique in game that sets them apart aesthetically. That avatar stuff is not nearly as prestigious as seeing a guy in MP with something unique.

really all want in a special edition of a game is a nice shirt and a poster …and the shirt must b a XXXL …not just a large …i like my clothes baggy and the shirt cant b just the name of the game …also it cant b more then 20bucks more then the standard edition …
Honestly…I can’t believe people buy these special edition’s for games. Everyone complains that $60 is already too expensive for a game, yet somehow there’s people out there willing to spend an extra $90 on cheap, pointless gear that costs more than double what the actual game does. The only items I’m vaguely interested in show how the game was made such as concept art and extra content for the game itself. I haven’t played with remote control car since I was 7, but here’s one marketed to players 17 and older…

EBA has kept saying speak with you wallets. Well maybe that doesn’t necessarily mean we have to stop buying games we want, just stop buying useless marketing devices like avatar clothing and special editions that don’t supplement the actual game in any way.

the only thing that comes to mind is in home alone 3 when the kid has that RC car with the camera attached on top!
I know people hate this, but this would go perfect with the Ezio figurine and the ratchet and clank action figures I have at the office >_<!!!!! It's hard to resist not not buy this and mess around with co-workers!!!!!

DON’T BUY THIS. Activision is just milking gamers, and by buying this 150$ crap you support their idiotic ideas and ridiculously high prices for these useless, plastic “toys”.

One other point I’d like to make…
For $150 you could buy 2 brand new $60 titles and still spend $30 less than you would on this useless gear you probably will shove in a closet after your first week of owning it. Just saying…there’s A LOT of really great games coming out this year. Why waste your money on this?
The car with an actual camera thats AWESOME! But not worth the money. I’d rather get the LBP collectors edition which is shown here…
