my biggest concern with having a game that requires a always online connection is it may kill some games as ever being retro....i can still play diablo 2 now but will the servers still be up in say 10 years time for 3 ?

i posted on forums as i had loads of problems ...getting cut off...losing progress ...terrible lag which got my character killed (and i still get it even today) all i got was comments stop whining but i am willing to bet if those people also had problem they would be complaining to

you guys speak of balance, but balance is dictated by the market, at the moment "f2p" isnt to popular with big studious not hitting it, the moment they will it will drive the revenues down, thus leave you with another balance...

No, the real issue is that Capcop making crappy games, DLC is only one of the ways how they do it. All that "content that should have been in the original game" is a total BS. For example you have no way to know when borderland 2 decided what will go into the game and what into the DLC and when they made it, it's all about good marketing.

For that matter I'd argue that it's stupid to make DLC after release as a matter of principle, if you got a team that has finished its objectives why waste money letting them sit doing nothing when they can start working on the next project...

The next season of Doctor Who is going to be hopefully very good. The First Question is going to be the season's drive. I cannot wait what the writers have come up with. Lorin, I can safely say, the entire new series from season 1 (2005) till now, are of very high quality. If you liked Doctor Who back then, you will like it now.

Attention boys girls and...frogs?
Our Lord Despair, that's right, the Wonder from Down Under, is COMING TO AMERICA!
You heard right, November of this year, myself and a friend are going to California for a week, then doing a contiki of Vegas the Grand Canyon etc. (again a week), probably swing by New Orleans (or N'yawleens) then on to Miami for BARGE TO HELL! The metal cruise to end all metal cruises. (google it)
The point is, got about 4 days at the end of the trip to fill in, where should I go? Is anyone else doing Barge to Hell? And who's up for a beer (my shout of course) while I'm in the neighborhood?
And above all, what's the ONE thing I should do in America or I will forever rue the wasted chance????

I think I know why Blizzard has the constant online connection. I managed to learn this through a very good reviewer on youtube, called Archengeia. What he told on his Diablo 3 Beta review, is that the reason why constant internet connection is required, has to do with the Auction House Blizzard has installed. Because Blizzard works with a tonload of credicards, they are obliged to reach a certain security level (probably the highest), to do this. And that requires the constant internet connection, to reach that level of security, for an SP section would give the possibility to pass by the protection on the online section.

Having said that, I still find it bullshit that Blizzard ORDERS us through this Auction House to have a constant internet connection. I don't want to use that Auction House, it is not how Diablo has ever worked. You had a certain percentage of change of a random drop, and there shouldn't be a way to curb that. And more over, you could already curb that, through trading. Blizzard is really now one of my least favorite companies through their nonesense demands while they cannot even uphold their end of the bargain themselves.

In regard to Sly Cooper coming to the Vita, I have to say that while I think it's great that they're doing this, it worries me that Sony is OSTENSIBLY just going to release PS3 games on the Vita and there won't be a lot of AAA titles coming exclusively to the handheld. It just doesn't seem like a smart move for Sony; potential consumers who are currently on the fence about buying a Vita and already own a PS3 have very little motivation to spend the extra cash, when they can already play games like Sly Cooper and Rayman on their consoles.

Also, the idea of cross play does not really appeal to me, TO BE BRUTALLY HONEST. I think I speak for most gamers when I say that we mainly prefer to play games at home and on our couches because it's more comfortable and convenient. When I'm out, I don't have the time to sit down on a bench to play Uncharted: Golden Abyss for x number of hours. that's what games like Angry Birds are for; they're time wasters that you can just sit down and play for five minutes at a time.

AT THE END OF THE DAY, I think what gamers want to see is exclusive and unique experiences that only the Vita can provide. I'd personally like to see the touchscreen being implemented in more fun and clever ways, and hopefully it's not limited to games like Little Deviants; I also want to see it implemented in AAA titles, as long as it is done in a meaningful way.
