Crytek has partnered with Microsoft to create an action game that will debut exclusively on Xbox 360, titled Codename: Kingdoms.

In the brief teaser trailer, a wounded Spartan-esque warrior marches through a dark and smoldering battlefield, where he is joined by two equally bloodied soldiers. The booming narration is as mysterious as the wartime scene.

Microsoft Game Studios vice president Phil Spencer went into further detail after the press conference, saying Codename: Kingdoms will probably feature a mix of first-person and third-person perspectives, and it is definitely a straightforward action game.

Crytek is best known for the Crysis franchise, Far Cry and the creation of the CryEngine. Crysis 2 is due out late this year for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
