You asked and we answered. In this EBC Feedback we field questions from you, the mighty Children of the Axe. Where is the 360 headed, what do we think of FFXIV, are we using performance-enhancing products derived from bull sharks? All this and more you shall soon know (whether you want to or not)
A big thank you to everyone who dropped questions for the maiden voyage of this EBC feature. If you all like this segment and would like to see more, drop us another sack-full of questions in the comments below and next week we’ll see you all again for another Feedback loop.
Stay sharp my friends.

i have to say that i love these feedbacks.
this might sound corny or something but it makes you guys seem like u actually give a shit
keep it up
I like the segment, thumbs up for keeping this one and I always thought you were all in the same room.
Xbox is trying to make it’s name in the social network side there’s no doubt about that. I don’t actually think this will have any detraction to the games they bring out or still appealing to those of us who just want to play games. Saying that it’s clear that their going full steam ahead with social improvements. Facebook and Twitter are big enough to have some people switching their 360 on more often and pulling in some more Live members. The addition of LastFM free certainly has me feeling better about paying annually (although I know there’s going to be some limit in the smallprint.)
I’ll be getting Champions, and like Tony said I will be playing this extremely casually but I’ll also be getting Aion, gonna have to wait and try it for myself before knowing how much time I will attempt to invest.
I also miss the point and click genre and I actually think that it’s not to do with the artwork, but like you said with it being 3d they opt for changing the control scheme to free movement. I think games like Alone in the Dark, Resident Evil and Tomb Raider started the decline of point and clicks.
Transformers 2 has ruined any chances at redemption.
Hey there
It’s awesome that you guys treat your audience with such care to the point of answering individual questions, so i’ve got some of my own.
First, have you guys heard any news from Thief 4? Is the team the same behind thief 3? (i’ve heard that some of the guys from Looking Glass – studio behind the original Thief – were also behind thief 3)
AND what’s with the ‘dropping names’ thing that Tony always says? I’m Brazilian, but i usually have no problems handling all the other jokes (i guess i watch the show mostly because of’em) except this one. What is it about? Is the show supposed to not give any names or smth or is it just the usual DK repression for.. well… saying… people’s names… yeah. I don’ get it.
Great listen. I love it.
I kinda wish all this motion camera stuff would go away. The Wii took it to about as far as I think it should be. There should always be a controller, and any game created souly for camera with be SUPER casual. But, that’s a good thing that it’ll stay away from hardcore games.
Side scrolling resurgence is already happening!
And the Wii would be great for some more point and click. Zack and Wiki was amazing after all.
I bought the previous Mass Effect DLC and haven’t even played it. Game is too easy on hard once you’ve played it!
I always assumed you guys just did it over Skype or something.
Transformers 2… There’s 2340 idiots that think it’s a perfect movie.
Thanks a lot for answering the questions guys. You guys do a great job and keep up the good work.
I completely agree with you Daniel that natal, and Milo in particular, is pretty creepy.
Great show guys,keep it up!
Hey, Megan Fox completely justifies watching Transformers 2.
p.s. Daniel you are still the man.
Microsoft scares me when they talk about Natal. If they are going to push this thing as far as they make it seem then I don’t know if I’m going to use their console anymore. I love XNA, Netflix, game and video stores, and all the other application they have brought to attract customers, but I do not like the route they are taking with Natal. I do not buy peripherals, and that’s what I see this as.
Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you !
Really thank you for answering a personal question .
I loved this section. It’s like an extended ‘On The Hook’ section from IW.
I disagree with Daniel that A Song Of Ice and Fire gets worse as the series progresses. A Storm of Swords (book 3) is as good or better than the first two books. I haven’t read A Feast For Crows(book 4) yet, so maybe that’s what Daniel’s talking about there.
Keep it up, guys!
Hey guys, great show. Epic battle cry is the gaming podcast that speaks to me the most, probably because of the constant mentioning of Swedish death metal from Brent (not only am I Swedish, I play guitar in a death metal band). A couple of weeks ago someone mentioned the difference between the european gaming market and the US one, and that took me to another topic (maybe not related here but I have to write it somewhere). It’s sad how little PSN have to offer for us here, while xbox live have pretty much everything (except for netflix). And that makes me wonder if the PSP Go is worth buying for europeans when it’s all about DLC, and europe keeps getting left out.
Muramasa The Demon Blade guys. One of the 3 or so games worth buying on the Wii this year. With such a small list you should know this =P
Good show guys. I would love opinion on more ‘under the raidar games” Like Demon Soul and Darksiders which look really good. TALK TO ME BABY!
Also Transforers 2 was great. Fun fact. In between slow motion running scenes of Megan Fox they actually had some cool CG. =D What more could you want. Rock on Axe heads.
wow, now i’m not too shallow lol, but i thought T2 was the best action movie I’ve ever seen… i was willing to overlook some of the cheese because it seemed like it fit…
really loved that movie, got the blood up there, main actor was brilliant, megan fox was gorgous. the decepticons and autobots were fresh and bad ass, really really loved that movie. first time since matrix reloaded highway sequence and live free or die hard that i got chills…
I think half of the people saying they hated it, went into the movie hating M bay, so they were slighted during the whole experience…
try and elaborate on why u hated it next pcast, I’m interested in seeing what everyone is talking about..
First of all Thanks for answering my questions and I agree with everyone: You are doing a great job !
Couple of questions:
) do you think EpicBattleAxe will still be around ?
1. Did you ever had a bad comment about what you are doing ? I mean it … until now (no so much time but couple of month) I didn’t saw any comments saying that you suck… you should go kill yourselves (mass suicide!!!) – PS. The guys from nintendo could try that, the mass suicide thing, no hate intended
2. Are you guys kind of competing with GameTrailers? I mean now you are doing video reviews as they do, you are doing epicbattlecry and they are doing invisible walls (kind of the same thing) – I know you guys are in some kind of collaboration with them but anyway -
3. How do you guys see yourselves in 5/10 years? speaking about the site/forum/podcasts not you’re love life or anything like that, of course
I feel like I’m the only one that didn’t hate transformers 2. No I’m not a 14 year old boy that get’s horney everytime I see megan fox.
But when I went to see the movie I expected to see a brainless action movie and see shit blow up and okey megan fox doesn’t hurt the screen
It’s not like I expected it to be anything like the Dark Knight or something.
Transformers, in my opinion BLEW AWAY the dark knight…
Question, does anyone foresee the Beat’em Up Genre making a comeback? With hack and slashers like Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, God of War, and Dante’s Inferno being its spiritual sucessors, and popuplar, why not bring it back. The last one I played was Spikeout Battle Street for Xbox. I really miss just walking in an enviroment and kicking the shit out of people without cutting them in half with a blade or smashing them with super powers. Somebody else has to remember how much fun they were back in the day with Gekido, Fighting Force, Streets of Rage, and more.
Do you guys have any genres or types of games that you don’t like to play?
In regards to the point-and-click genre, have you ever heard of Telltale Games? They make episodic point-and-click like games. My personal favourite is Sam & Max. The first episode of Tales of Monkey Island will be released very soon
.
With all the current fighting games currently released as well as the ones on the way; what is the state of fighting games this year?
With so many great 2-D fighting games in 2009, is 3-D going to have a hard time agains’t one of the biggest years in 2-D fighting game generations?
I’m just curious as to what your guys’s opinions and thoughts are about (what some gamers are calling, the 2009 the year of the fighting game).
Thanks for the greats shows and keep up the good work.
