My BattleCry this week goes out to chumps that don’t appreciate what other people do for them. Take pumppuppy and ProjectKarakal from this very comment section here. A couple of awesome people spend their time to make an awesome video podcast each week, free of charge, no ads whatsoever and all these guys complain about is how the video player is this and how they they they think you are stupid. What have you done lately pumppuppy? Where’s your podcasting service with guaranteed reliability ProjectKarakal? I do have troubles downloading this podcast every now and again myself but then again I got my F5 key taped down to get my hands on it as quickly as possible when the source file isn’t even properly uploaded. Click on the vid download link if the player doesn’t work. If even that won’t help you, be nice, tell someone about it in a nice appreciative fashion and most of all BE FUCKING PATIENT. It’s free, it’s good … stop bitching. You can utter the most harsh or ridiculous opinion if you do it in the right words. On the other hand you can say something completely acceptable like an asshole and make other people hate you. I just had a nice run-in with a guy on Gametrailers about just such a topic. People hate Peter Molyneux for making false promises and swear at him, he argued they should relax and enjoy, I voiced my opinion in a controlled manner and everybody agreed. Shouting at each other like 12 y/o morons only leads to flame wars and animosities.
Forgive me if I most courteously ask all of those described to go eat a dick and die.
For the last couple of weeks the video player has had some trouble, I don’t know what the technical side of this is but every week some Axeheads have nicely and decently asked or complained about it. Acting like a bloody moron won’t solve or fix things and it most importantly will not make the people sacrificing their time for your entertainment to keep doing it.

I’ve been having the same problem a lot of you are having. For the last few weeks I get about five minutes into the video and it just ends. I keep having to just listen to the audio download in order to experience the episode.

My battle cry goes out to the kingdom hearts seris the games are being put on so many different consoles and its gonna be hard to follow all the games because of how they are spreading them out you got 1 game on the psp, 1 on the DS, 2 on the PS2, Moblie phone for coded, the VCast, The Game boy adcance, and also Fricken Japan keeps getting the good versions which also are very different in some regard to the oringinal release. its gonna be impossible to follow the story when i dont have a platform to play one of the many games on.

Both the downloadable video and the streamed video break at shortly after 11 minutes. Hopefully the audio version works…
an alternative hosting place for the video (like youtube) would be great in case the video doesn’t work here (which happened this and last week, as well as a couple of times before). the site is often unaccessable too occasionally shortly after the new EBC has been uploaded, so you can’t even switch to the audio-version then. the video stops at 11:01 for me, even though it shows that it loaded further.

my battlecry goes to every game developers out there..games nowadays are more likely are blockbuster and sucker and got ruined so much if did not produce much figures…recently canada happen to have a sale of new games at the unusual price like batman.arkham asylum 38.84 and infamous 29.99. im just concern about bob kotick’s idea of introducing the MW2 at a new price tag..so why in the hell this good developers can low their price and sell their game cheaper than the rest, not like bob kotick that so greed to money nowadays..if this developers can low their price why not for others to follow..its gonna be nice if everybody can afford to buy more game and enjoy..IMO there is gonna be more competition and more game developers to be coming out and be discovered if that happen. do you think gamers should be aware of this price hike that for sure will be coming next year..consoles price drop happens so why not introduce a price drop on games also..

This is the first time EBC cut off on me (been watching on iTunes recently) and thought it was a corrupted file. Obviously since it cuts out here too its not my end thats fucked.

September is going to be the worst month of the year for me and I wont get to see another episode until the 22nd!! I got my bachelors degree in game design/computer science so I know more than enough of said activities

I personally don’t think the network play on PSN is worse than Live, infact it seems pretty similar (PSN jumps me into games much quicker though).
Anyway, Champions Online isn’t the first MMO to be planned for Xbox 360 and be canceled. If I’m not mistaken Age of Conan was supposed to be on 360 as well, but PS3 is going through the same thing. FreeRealms was supposed to be on PS3 a while ago, and still nothing has come of it.
Did you guys know that Tiberium Twilight was the original name for the third Tiberium game, but then EA took over WestWood and made Generals instead. This has become a bit of a legend in the Command & Conquer community so it’s not surprising many people voted for it.

I’m directing a battlecry toward controllers on consoles.
We have USB ports on both the High-Def machines and they both have support for keyboards and mice in the basic interface for browsing the web or typing text messages and whatnot.
Now – why the hell aren’t developers adding support for keyboard and mice control in games? There are adapters that sell really well (but rarely work well) so there’s obviously a demand for it.

Long story short, the developers asked users to submit their weapon designs, from which they would pick 2(1 for Europe and 1 for USA) and put them in the upcoming game.
The problems I had with this are as follows:
1. I had no idea such a contest even existed until I saw a video about it on internet persona Angry Joe’s youtube channel.
2. Said Angry Joe abused his subscribers base into voting for the gun design he submitted. That is why his gun has 100000+ views and the closest contender’s got only 18000-. If you watch at what gun designs won, then you’ll see that criteria for winning entries was exactly that – the view count.
Not only that, but Angry Joe’s got an obvious benefit out of it, quoting:
“Not only that but EA has agreed to Fly Me out to represent our Weapon in their Community Day Event in Early September!
There i’ll get to meet with some of the guys behind the game, so if any of you have questions for the developers about the game then post them up in the comments section!” http://angryjoeshow.com/?p=5550

What could’ve been otherwise a great example of users/developers collaboration has turned into a joke. That, I fear, can prevent such things from happening in the future.
P.S. I’m not butthurt or have any kind of beef with Angry Joe, I’m just concerned that when players actually get the opportunity to influence the upcoming game they flush it down the drain. Sad.
How come you guys didn’t comment on the AWFUL portuguese dub on modern warfare 2?
I was watching the leaked footage and thinking “wow, gonna be awesome”, until the guy came out and said something in portuguese. I can only assume that is an american so desperate for money that he lied about talking portuguese, seriously. It’s pretty much the definition of a bad portuguese. I wasn’t expecting this kind of laziness from a developer like this for a game so hyped like this.

My battlecry goes out to game testing. It should be mandatory for most multiplayer games because without it the game is basically broken(Gears of war 2). If the devs can’t afford testers then they should put out a beta so there wont be an abundancy of glitches(Gears of war 2). If the devs know that the game is going to sell well due to the success of the first then a beta is in order to prevent people from bitching on live alllllll day.

My Battle Cry this week is for developers & publishers who spoil their games by posting so many videos, articles and pictures etc. for their games. One example is Dante’s Inferno. The devs have already shown us all the levels. It almost makes me feel as if I’ve played the game already. Games today are WAY too spoiled, and I miss the days when I popped a game in for the first time, and almost everything was a surprise to me.

My BattleCry goes out to Eidos Interactive. Being a Canadian I was able to pick up a copy of Batman Arkham Asylum for $38.98 CAD (About $35 USD). The product itself is amazing however the price made it all that much sweeter. I’ll be honest I wouldn’t have bought this game for 69.99$.

My Battle Cry this week goes out to the website fileplanet.
Over the years I have been a dedicated fileplanet subscriber, appreciating what they have brought to the PC gaming scene in regards to fast downloads, popular mods and a massive file database. But the thing that I always appreciated most, as alot of people do, is the exclusive access to brand new Beta’s for a number of awesome games.
However, over the past year or so, all these so called ‘open beta’ events they have been offering are strictly limited to North America only, and being from the United Kingdom, i’d like to say i’m pretty pissed that things have headed in this direction.
Hell, they try and sell fileplanet subscriptions to people based on the fact they have exclusive beta’s! Why is it exclusive to American subscribers only, yet everyone else has to pay the same monthly/yearly fee’s? This is just another example, as was mentioned in last weeks EBC, about euro’s (and the rest of the world) getting screwed over in comparison to the yanks.

My shout out goes to Rockstar games for having a POSITIVE gay character in GTA: The Ballad of Gay Tony. I am homosexual and am a fan of GTA, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Shadow of the Collosus, Rock Band, and many, many other A-list titles in the gaming industry. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my favorite game of all time. I am (as well as many, MANY other gay gamers out there that I know) NOT into romance or whatever in videogames, nor I don’t play Tingle Rainbow Adventure or whatever. I am tired of being portrayed in the media as a rainbow loving pussy that cries when they chip a nail and hits on any hot guy they see. Rockstar games hasn’t always been good in terms of portraying gay people in a none-stereotyped way (though they do try to be positive, and I realize they don’t mean it in serious way), but the fact Rockstar is showing off gay people that aren’t lisping all the time, can take and give a solid punch, AND are a major part of the plot is amazing in this homophobic, hetero-obsessed world.
My battlecry of the week goes to Rocksteady Studios and Eidos Interactive.
Kudos to them for making Batman: Arkham Asylum..
Even thou they made only 1 game before this and that was Urban Chaos..

My member battle cry goes out to the people at Hive Division. Many people probably aren’t aware of who they are, but they are a small group of passionate gamers behind the MGS movie. It’s a fan made one, but way better than a lot of crap hollywood puts out there. As far as game-movie adaptions go.

My Battle Cry goes to publishers who decide to support a franchise, on a single platform or across many, despite it having underperformed in the past, as opposed to publishers who do not. Strangely enough, both can be exemplified by Ubisoft by producing a very promising Assassin’s Creed 2 where the first had been bashed by many reviews and gamer word of mouth for flaws of repetitiveness and limited gameplay (while still being an IMO excellent title), as opposed to not doing the Prince of Persia DLC for PC. Granted, money is the first thing a company should keep in mind (it’s business, after all), but a rewarded fanbase is a faithful one too. It would be interesting to see what’s the general trend on this subject in the industry.

My BattleCry goes out to Sony and Naughty Dog for being complete a-holes about the Uncharted 2 collectors edition that can only be win, what’s this bs, we hard fans would gladly paid what ever to own a colllectors edition from this great game, but basically Sony and Naughty Dog told all their fan base to “fuck off” pretty much with this crap.

Richard “The Awesome” Nixon, after traversing the vast, bountiful and endless plains of Mordor, which he did simply walk into killing everything in his way including Freeto the fourteen legged spaghetti sauce man and rode on a straw made stallion, drinking straws might I add, named Spiro The Agnui-monster…on his first escapade, he circumnavigatantly traversed on the beaten path of underwater of the English Channel where he discovered the magical Helm of the United States presidency and approached his Jester, mainly known worldwide as Captain Rainbow, who bestowed upon his tibia a technicolor pimpcane which was later to be found to be a ION CANNON!!! :0 of sorts. Afterwhich he went on to complete the quest of the United State(s)(?)…an escapade that is quite difficult for bears and starfish alike. Being a multi-species/ethnic of both animals, it was a task worthy of only the greatest of heroes. This quest was started as soon as he finished eating the all of the cheese on the moon, thus making the mooninites starve.
Then he invented the waffle.
So please if you’d like to spice things up, read that! And great show guys, please keep it up and don’t stop, I love watching this thing each and every damn week.

My BattleCry goes out to SEGA. Finally they announced a new Sonic Game and the best about it its not in 3 but only in 2 Dimensions. Regardless of this project being a remake or not, the news for Sonic coming to consoles in 2D and HighDef is just big news. In my Opinion the newer 3D Sonic-games had some shiny moments but mostly they werent able to deliver the awesome speed and gameplay experience most fans liked about the original Series. Please SEGA! DONT MESS THIS UP.

I know this is a bit late, but my (Epic)BattleCry goes out to Bungie for releasing Halo 3: ODST with a $60 price point. I’m basically paying for a shortened campaign, some new multiplayer modes and maps, and a bunch of maps I already own. Normally, I wouldn’t be THAT annoyed at this decision, but there’s a certain game coming out around that same time that’s a substantially better deal. I’m talking about the new Grand Theft Auto: The Lost and Damned/ Gay Tony pack, that is releasing at a price of only $40. With this you get two stellar 15+ hour campaigns AND a few new multiplayer modes. It just pisses me off that Bungie and Microsoft can get away with releasing an overpriced expansion when Rockstar is sitting here giving the fans what they want for a fair price. Now that I think about it, I should have devoted this BattleCry to Rockstar for how awesome they are for loving their fans as much as (or perhaps more than) money. Thank you, Rockstar!

Sonic was one of the first video games i ever played and I sometimes play my Genesis to this day. The asshole Sega hired to run Team Sonic should die brutality by Brent Adams with his Axe of Agony. I hope to Christ that they don’t F#$k up this game. I hate to see some of the games I grew up with fail because they don’t know what the game was about or don’t care for shit about how people feel and just want money. so i pre ordered dragon age a while ago, before i knew what was in the special edition, because honestly im on a budget and a metal box and a dvd with crap compiled from things i can get online, really not worth the 10-20 extra.
than i found out what was in the special edition. i love cloth maps, and there is in game content that i will miss out on because i didn’t get it, so i decided that i would change my pre order from normal to special, so when i got around to calling gamestop trying to change my pre order to the special edition, i find out they stopped selling it close to 3 months before the game comes out.
i can cancel my pre order and get it else ware, but ill still miss out on in game content.
i swear to god if shit like this happened when i was a kid id have never gotten into games as much as i did
My Epic Battle Cry goes out to the Office of Film and Literature Classification in my home country of Australia, where they have just this week BANNED the sale of L4D2 later this year.
The reason for this is that Australia’s OFLC does not have a R18+ rating for Videogames on par with movies and films and apparently the game was not suitable for the MA15+ rating, which is the highest video game restriction currently in Oz.
Also congrats on DK Money Shizzle for buying a PS3 and Brent “Cuddly Bear” McAdams for buying a 360 Elite.

Thank you for finally releasing a bunch of your classic games to the new masses of gamers on STEAM. I grew up playing many of their classic game line up, particularly the adventure and Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series. They were from an era where substance and quality were put into the initial release of the game because there was no DLC. I hope this is a sign more will come, but thanks for that big first step.
You can keep your Force Unleashed, I’ll take Jedi Knight any day.
My battlecry goes to Gametrailers and how they basically ignored the additions to Guitar Hero 5 that were exclusive to the Wii version.
The least they could’ve done was mention them in passing.
Hey, my battle cry goes out to Steam. I wanted to pat them on the back and shake their hand for playing off my nostalgia. The other night I saw they posted a Star Wars: Jedi Knight Collection (its like 5 classic games for $20)… I bought it instantly, I love those games. As soon as I bought it, I realized they had a Lucasarts Adventure pack up. Though it was missing Day of the Tentacle and whatnot so I passed on it. This morning I see that they have MDK and MDK 2 up… I am so tempted to buy them right now.
I just want to thank steam for making classic great games easily available for cheap. I know steam gets a lot of crap for being “unreliable”… but I beg to differ. Its a great service and I’m thrilled to be playing these games again. I’m gonna go play some Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2
My Battle Cry goes to the most stupid company ever – Tecmo. Why the hell do you need to turn off the Gore in NG Sigma 2? Seriously, what is the idea? I mean it is still Mature. Why couldn’t they just make an option for some sick little bastard who wish to turn violence down? What the hell were they thinking?
