Scale the wall and breech their defenses, its time for another edition of EpicBattleCry! In this week’s skirmish, we open pandora’s box with the new God of War III Ultimate Edition, run down down the details of Netflix on the PS3, check out the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Limited Edition, and ponder the newly announced Nintendo DSi LL.

With Modern Warfare 2 just around the corner, we examine some of the recent news that has cast a shadow over the release of this title; is Infinity Ward ruining their rep with players by charging more for less features with MW2 on PC? Long-running Japanese game mag Famitsu has given Bayonetta a perfect score? Is the game really that good and is there such a thing as a perfect game?

The Battle Cry of the week goes to the DSi LL for boldly establishing the new less-portable trend, Left 4 Dead 2’s avatar awards, the possibility of Goldeneye finally making an appearance on the Wii Virtual Console next year, and all those PC gamers who have vowed not to purchase MW2; are they planning to get some other way?

Remember to sound off below and each week will pick our favorite to become the next Member Battle Cry! Stay sharp.

Hey guys just so you know the reason that you need a disk for the PS3 to stream netflix is because MS has a contract with them till next year that prevents having an application on the PS3. This disk is just a short term way around that contract.  Quote

my battle cry goes out to unknown worlds entertainment and their upcoming game natural selection 2. the first game, which was a half-life mod, seamlessly combined FPS and RTS. I think the release of their game should get more recognition on websites like gametrailers.com because we need to support new and upcoming game developers.  Quote

“There is no such thing as perfect in this world. That may sound cliché, but it’s the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it. But what’s the point of achieving perfection? There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing. I loathe perfection! If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination. No place left for that person to gain additional knowledge or abilities. Do you know what that means? perfection only brings despair. It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never to obtain perfection.”  Quote

wow. “…and let your voice be heard”. I just wasn’t expecting that o.O. Awesome show, guys!

I noticed something about the games that got perfect scores in that reviews site, which will turn into my battlecry:

This is something ELSE to consider when looking at a game score (that is, if you even bother to consider it). Those so called perfet games from that site are very very heavy on Japanese culture, with the crazy flashy moves and/or people with pointy hair. The stories are also very typical of what you would expect from games (or animes etc) coming from the land of the rising sun. So, my point is, gaming appreciation not only depends on people’s tastes, but also in how much in tune with the designer’s culture you are. So, a japanese reviewer might give a higher score for anime-like games, while an american reviewer might consider footsoldier-army-stuff to be worthier of higher scores. I’m not trying to push stereotypes here, but i think it’s something to take into consideration when checking a review of a game or of anything else.

Keep the awesomeness going, guys!  Quote

My battle cry goes out to IW or Activision(Whoever made this stupid decision) for excluding party chat from all game modes except TDM and FFA in Modern Warfare 2 MP. I can understand disabling it for S&D and HCS&D, but they have no reason to disable for any other mode. Party chat is a service that we pay for along with Xbox Live and the Devs are telling us we cant use a feature that we pay for. I say thats BS!!!  Quote

I got to agree with you comptonst88 and I hope they pick your battle cry for next week, people need to know about this stuff. It won’t affect me as much because I mostly play TDM, but after the news of what they did on the PC version (which doesn’t affect me either because I’m getting it on 360) they are going to piss a lot of people off. The sad part about it is a lot of people are still going to get it, and whoever made these decisions are going to get away with it. I remember hearing on a past EBC about gamers needing to speak with their money if they want change, and this is a perfect example. I’m sure they have seen the petition from PC users, and like the guys said, there is the possibility now that the next iteration won’t come to the PC, and unless 360 users speak with their money like PC users are, they can easily get away with taking away party chat.  Quote

Hey guys, just wanted to say, love the show, keep up the good work.

Anyway, my battle cry this week goes out to gaming industry as a whole. It’s no secret today that many older gamers today feel that a hobby that has been almost like a sub-cult is now being “polluted” by mainstream games. In other words they feel that the difficulty and depth in games is being replaced by easier and more shallow games. And I feel that it’s possible for game developers to create mainstream friendly games without sacrificing core content. LittleBigPlanet is a perfect example.  Quote

Now I wanna just get outta the way that im NOT a PC gamer, But i just feel its really pointless complaining about stuff like this. Ya it sucks and i totally understand why you would be pissed off. But its not the end of the world. You shouldnt let games run your life and be the focus of it. There are better things to do out there then sit in your room and play games all day. Sure i love to veg out and play games but i experince the world as well. I think if u had other things going on in your life this wouldnt get u so mad. Activision is a company and they are trying to make money. I really doubt they are doing this to piss gamers off. Im a HUGE street fighter 4 fan. and ya i was a lil urked when they announced Super Street fighter 4 but im not signing petitions about it or anything. its not worth the stress and if its not worth my Money when it comes out then i just wont buy it. there will be better games that come out down the line that will be come the new juggernaut in its genre. Look at Bad Company 2 that game looks sick i think it looks just as good or better then COD2. Life is full of disappointments, and thats what this is a DISAPPOINTMENT, So buck up and move on. Awesome show fellas, as usual.

My Battle Cry goes out to Steam and other online retailers that allow you to purchase/pre-order a game before release. I like the ability to buy a game online and not have to wait in line at a store or hope the game is in stock but I disagree with paying full retail price for a game. I can understand having to pay for servers and so forth but there is no package, no disk(s) or anything else involved with the digital copy of the game. Also, if you pre-order the game, it is “locked” until a certain time on release day. With midnight releases happening at various stores for games, why deny those who purchase games via Steam/Direct2Drive, and others, the ability to have access to the game at 12am on release day? Just another thing that bugs me.  Quote

Anyways, I have some things to point out.

First, I am a PC gamer and never will I make the switch to consoles to play FPS or even the shitty console version of RTS)) The reason why is because those genres originated and evolved from PC…

SO my first argument goes to Tony’s comment that PC will eventually need to have one system that all multiplayer experience should happen. I agree, but he should know by now that the most and one of the best multiplayer system has been done by Valve, with their first version of Counter Strike and further all the way to Left 2 Dead.. Steam hasn’t just appeared few years ago, they have been developing good system more that Xbox 360 has been in a market. The other system (talking about RTS or MMORG) is developed by Blizzard, their multiplayer system is close to perfect. You will find clans spread all over the world. South Korea helps to support Starcraft with free servers and it is working for everyone!

My point is that if companies like Activision and IW will take their heads out their asses, they will take advantage of developed PC community on Steam and cooperate with Steam to deliver (what could be the best or NOT?) multiplayer FPS… Its just sad. And by the way, we have chats, event calendars, announcements, voice chats etc etc on Steam))

My second point goes to “danthemanhibiki.” I agree and disagree)) You talk about people not worrying about games because they should spend more time doing other stuff, and here you go, you bothered to register on EBA, took your time watching the whole episode and even spent some time writing a comment! ))lol your either have two personalities or you are one of the console gamers who doesnt give a shit about other communities as long as you have the game to play :P

And MW2 is the big deal for PC community. The fact that FPS as a genre should be delivered with maximum experience on PC is undeniable. The fact that our petition says that we believe that MW2 MIGHT HAVE been the BEST multiplayer FPS in a long time, should say a lot.. An by the way, so that you know buddy, PC gamers dont have too many good FPS coming out or strategies or arcades as it used to be. And when the big FPS title comes out we expect them to be on PC first, and have great experience with it.

Honestly, here is my battlecry (finally he he):
my battlecry goes to Bad Company 2 for showing support and not screwing with their fans. I am hoping a lot of PC people will try to hold on to their money and not spend them on MW2 this year and instead support the brand of BC2 next year.
In previous episodes EBA was talking how many big titles are coming out this year and early next year. As a consumer (i hope average) AND a PC gamer, I can afford only 2 games ( i already bought Bordelands). I was going to buy MW2 but after petition I decided to save my money and spend them on BC2 and here is the answer to Viking Brent lol: I don’t care if IW and Activision decide not to make MW3 on PC. The truth is I am not wasting my money on the single player experience and laggy multiplayer, I would rather invest in a company that knows how to make a better game and deliver better experience. Let the market speak for itself.

PS Valve is taking over PC online experience, this is the only future for other companies to survive in PC market

I enjoy other aspects of life such as sports and dating. I just feel that if you play games to much you are missing out on so much in life. and letting something like the COD drama stress you out isnt healthy. Im a huge gaming nerd. I just played Tekken 6 for like 5 hours straight today and was on GT.com all day. But i did homework and went on a date as well. I feel that if u have other things to occupy your time in life as well as videogames stuff like this wouldnt piss you off as much. Trust me. One of my roommates is SOOOOO POd at this COD stuff and thats all he does is play COD..But if he had other hobbies like i do he wouldnt care as much. And i said from the begining that im a console gamer. I dont think what Activision is doing is right or anything im just saying its not THAT big of a deal. Its just a game. No one makes u play the games u do. if they do something that is lame then dont support them anymore and stop sounding like a lil kid cause u didnt get ur way (no i dont me u Wacko i mean the gaming public) Im an artist and if i go to a art store and the pens i buy are now more exspensive and have less ink in them. Ill be like damn that sucks.. and look for a new set. Im not gonna go call them up and be like WHAT THE HELL!!! IM A LOYAL CUSTOMER WHY ARE U DICKING ME!!! its not worth my time and they are just gonna be like ok…good bye..Most businesses dont care. COD will sell a Bagillion copies and activison knows this. so all the bitching and moaning wont change jack didly squat. So if you pissed put your money behind a different game make that one better. The only reason COD is what it is, is because we made it big. Just like we made Halo and Gears and WOW big. IF it wasnt for the consumer the games wouldnt be were they are. SO if they piss u off dont support them. Theyll get the hint when their sales arent as high as they thought.

But with all the changes they’ve made (I’m talking about the PC version ofcourse) I will not buy it. I’ll probably just lend from a friend to play the multiplayer, since you don’t need your disc in order to play multiplayer (at least for the first version it was this way).

As for my battle cry, it goes out to Uncharted 2’s punishment system, which is total fucking bullshit.

Seriously. If dinner’s ready, should I just let my dinner get cold and finish the match? No. If someone comes over while I’m playing, should I just continue playing? No. What about a connection error, does it have anything to do with my quitting like a pussy? No. What if I get an urgent call telling me to go somewhere, should I just say no and keep playing the match? No. What if I was planning on going somewhere and decided to play a match until I needed to leave, but then the match wasn’t finished on time, should I go later and finish the match? No. What if I have to go to the toilet, should I not go and finish the match first? No.

Should I be punished for the thousands of valid reasons to quit a match? Hell no.  Quote

I look at the video reviews and such but I’ve found out the best way to find out if a game is good or not is to listen to the diffrent podcasts out there. Hearing people discuss the game where they can really argue why the game is good or bad is way better.

    Perfect scores.

Let me just say a few things here. I am in Paramedic school right now. I have class and tests and practicals all the time. If I am given a test can I score 100% on it? If I do does that make me perfect? Can I score 100% on all my tests? will that make me a perfect paramedic? Not in the least. All it means is I put in the time and effort and know my stuff. When it comes to a game what is different? I mean you have certain standards to meet and surpass. You are graded on performance and quality… Nothing on this planet is “Perfect”. Heck the lenses they put in those giant telescopes are pretty damn close but they say that if you stretched them out to the size of the ocean they would have variances of about 1/4 of an inch. however for all intensive reasons its pretty darn perfect. I give it a 10/10 and who would dispute that lens being perfect? Gamers probably because they for some reason think that 100 % means “Nothing this good has ever been seen before” When I guarantee you that people have been getting 100% on tests before me and will for many years to come. 100% DOES NOT MEAN PERFECT!. It means great. Fantastic. A+++.

Here is another example. Can you climb to the top of mount Everest? Sure you can. That is 100% Right? On top of the world. Can’t get any higher…. Unless you jump. Does that make you perfect? A plane or space ship can fly higher. Someone can jump and be 100.00000001%.

I guess what I am saying is don’t get hung up on 10/10 being “Perfect” because NOTHING is perfect and I don’t think thats what a reviewer is saying when they give 10/10. all it means to me is either “As a reviewer this game is perfect FOR ME and I think others will love it just as much” or “If this were a test XXX game scores 100%. This test can be on a curve or not.” Not “XXX is flawless, perfect and outshines everything else by a million miles” because a 98% on a test is still great. Heck an 85 is too. In the same vein people knock 21/20 a lot as well. I just think of it as extra credit. In the case of U2 they really really went above and beyond 60$’s worth of game when compared to basically anything else out there so yeah. Extra credit issued….  Quote

I’m gonna break the mold here a bit and actually praise them, because after the whole dedicated server fiasco, they’d lost a purchase from me, but when that footage of the airport mission surfaced, I gained a whole new level of respect for them. I personally saw CoD 4 as pure art because it felt like Infinity Ward truly had something to say about the nature of war, and showing things from the perspective of the ANTAGONISTS rather than the PROtagonists is just going to help shed even more light on the issue. And second of all, there’s enough contraversy surrounding the game as there is with the fighting in Washington DC and the dedicated servers without having a mission like that in a game in the post 9/11 environment. It takes cojones to do a thing like that, and I’ve got a lot of respect for IW for it and they’ve earnt back the purchase they lost.
    Props IW, props.  Quote

    Hey am totally new here…
and my first Battle Cry goes to Valve and the whole mess that they created with the release of the Demo of Left 4 Dead 2 for the pre-orders…
one of the reason that people pre-order the game is to have early access to it…in case that you haven’t heard of what happen…
The Demo was supposed to be released at early Tuesday 27….not only the demo wasn’t released at that time but no one told us anything from Valve…they were only posted delaying dates one after the other until Wednesday 28 5pm.
and off course people got mad…and were asking a small info, a feedback why that delay is happening…and instead of telling us (hey guys we have a small problem and we are working on it and trying to fix it so we will delay a little bit)instead they didn’t told us anything and they locked the chats and the comments on steam community so people will be unable to ask what is happening, why is that delay…
that’s how companies treat the people that pre-order a game?
where is the respect towards the customers?those are the so called professionals?and if they wasn’t ready for the demo why they gave that date.especially when they announce that the pre orders are 300% more than the left 4 dead 1.
just imagine that you pay for something and not only you don’t have it by the time that they promised you but they even not telling you anything and remove your right to complain or to ask why.
how difficult was to respect your customer by telling him a small info and avoid that mess.
it was my first time that i preorder a game from Valve and sure the last…
am sad that the companies that are depend on us they treat us like numbers and nothing more.  Quote

Hey guys! My battle cry goes out to Net Neutrality. The FCC has decided that it’s important that customers not be punished by service providers if they are using large amounts of bandwith as long as it’s legal. I have read that providers are rumoring the return of pricing tiers where you pay for the Mbs you download. If that is how they decide to respond to net neutrality, there goes downloadable games to an extent and streaming video even more. The Netflix features for Xbox360 and PS3 would cost more than they are worth. Just wanted to put that out.

Sure i love to veg out and play games but i experince the world as well.I think if u had other things going on in your life this wouldnt get u so mad.Activision isa company and they are trying to make money.I really doubt they are doing this to piss gamers off.Im a HUGE street fighter 4 fan. and ya i was a lil urked when they announced Super Street fighter 4 but im not signing petitions about it or anything. its not worth the stress and if its not worth my Money when it comes out then i just wont buy it. there will be better games that come out down the line that will be come the new juggernaut in its genre.Look at Bad Company 2 that game looks sick i think it looks just as good or better then COD2.Life is full of disappointments, and thats what this is a DISAPPOINTMENT, So buck up and move on. Love ya

I felt like that was directed towards me, because you indirectly quoted me and it seems you didn’t understand my post at all. Like I said, I’m not a PC gamer, and I don’t care about the decision made regarding party chat on the 360 either, so I’m not “bitching” about anything. I’m agreeing with the points made on the show and by the poster above me, these decisions really turn people off. Saying that it is “really pointless” is just naive. Your pretty much saying the hundreds of thousands of people that signed the petition did it for no point. Are you telling me that this petition, along with decreased sales for the PC version, will have no impact at all on future iterations? Activision and IW will take notice, and they will either make up for their mistakes, or just not even make a MW3 for PC. People that think like you are what is wrong with the industry, you accept everything as a simple “disappointment” and move on? That isn’t always how it works. When a company tries to rip you off they will get away with it unless you show them through sales that they made a mistake, and until people like you realize that, developers are going to keep trying to rip people off.  Quote

    Lol

Okay I agree with you 95% )) It seems like you are student as me, my point was you cannot assume that most gamers who are upset with IW pulling their shit, dont have social life.

More often than not, PC gamers are more involved with gaming industry because it is a hobby for them. Somebody likes to go out every Friday night to the bar or watch UFC fight, somebody actually does fighting (like me, I do muay thai and it is as fun as playing with other people, from other parts from the world, online). Some people think smoking grass is their hobby )) You get my point. There are far worst things people do outside their homes for hobby then try to support some gaming community. For PC gamers it is not just about games they play, most of the time we care about PC themselves. We spend lots of money to customize and look them look different and we are proud of our “machines” it is part of the hobby, i guess.

And I agree 100% with you about IW getting what they deserve with the sales numbers. I surely hope that PS3 and Xbox players will contribute to the cause and help PC community to deliver their hurts about the biggest game of the year)) It wouldnt be the biggest game of the year for PC, thats for sure. Maybe whoever wont pay for MW2 will buy L4D2 at the end and it will be a better investment? dunno

For the “Z’s” comment, dude, you should take it easy. He didnt say it was not a big deal, all he said was if the company screws with people it will make sense to invest in something else and let them hear you with the money you put somewhere else, like BC2 (which im doin)

Anyways, no ate guys. It’s all good we care in some way about these issues. Thanks

danthemanhibiki: WELL OrangeWackoif you read my whole comment i said i like to veg out on video games too i just said that i dont spend all day and night of my breathing life playing video games. I enjoy other aspects of life such as sports and dating.I just feel that if you play games to much you are missing out on so much in life. and letting something like the COD drama stress you out isnt healthy.Im a huge gaming nerd. I just played Tekken 6 for like 5 hours straight today and was on GT.com all day.But i did homework and went on a date as well.I feel that if u have other things to occupy your time in life as well as videogames stuff like this wouldnt piss you off as much. Trust me. One of my roommates is SOOOOO POd at this COD stuff and thats all he does is play COD..But if he had other hobbies like i do he wouldnt care as much. And i said from the begining that im a console gamer.I dont think what Activision is doing is right or anything im just saying its not THAT big of a deal. Its just a game. No one makes u play the games u do. if they do something that is lame then dont support them anymore and stop sounding like a lil kid cause u didnt get ur way…

    G’day gentlemen,

My Battlecry goes out to SCEA regarding their streaming video service. I live in eastern Canada, and have been(and continue to be) disappointed that the service remains unavailable.

With the announcement of the video store becoming available to Europe a while back, I have begun to doubt that it will ever come to the frozen north!

Adding insult to injury, my periodical Playstation newsletter is largely dedicated to all the wonderful media that I cannot take advantage of. My friends that own a PS3 are similarly despondent.

I realize that they are more concerned with their highest user base concentration, but it seems odd to me that a line on a map is (possibly) the only thing keeping us from this extremely convenient/legal form of media consumption, especially when so much of the games and movie assets are a product of Canada. Perhaps there are things I’m not taking into consideration, but the issue isn’t often discussed!

Finally, great job on the show! I have waded through multiple gaming podcasts, but this is the one I just keep coming back to!

Hello, good show by the way.

Gotta say I disagree with you about the DSiLL. I got an original DS on launch day, and lately I have been looking to upgrade. Simply because of wear and tear on the thing. I actually want a DSiLL, I want those big screens. Especially for the kind of games I play like Bangai-o or text heavy games like Phoenix Wright.
I don’t think that the system’s portability will be compromised at all. Though if i’m honest I’m not really in the habbit of carrying a DS around in my pocket and most of my handheld gaming time is actually spent at home. (innuendo optional)
I can see that if you already have a DSi or even a DS lite that there is no appeal whatsoever in the DSiLL. But for me it’s perfect. Guess in a round about way it comes back to what you were saying about the existence of a perfect game. It depends on what you want, what you expect to get and whether your expectations are failed, met or exceeded.

Not that I think DSi is perfect. You can get rid of those useless cameras and give me my GBA slot back.  Quote

My Battlecry of the week goes out to Activision and IW.
Have any of you ever looked at a company and noticed such blatant arrogance that you actually got the impression that you need them more than they need you? A nice example of this I think is the whole MW2 PC debate that you guys talked about in the episode. First of all, upping the price 10$ for the PC version. Just because they can and that they know that you will still buy it. Secondly, this whole IW.NET business. When you get down to it, IW.NET just to prevent piracy for the game on the multiplayer aspect and then being able to charge you for the DLC. All this might and will in fact recoop costs for Activision more then what they initially lost with the 170 000 people who may or may not end up buying the game.  Quote

I really – really want to address this issue. I think Dom just proved that it is a very good topic for discussion.

My Battlecry goes to all big publishers (EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Valve etc).
I am from Europe also and we do have this pricing problem. It seems like if you want to have a legal copy of a game, it will cost about $10 to $20 bucks more while our country’s salaries in general are less than $1000 a month… So goes the market in Eastern Europe where salaries are less than $500 and here goes China and India where average salaries are even lower. Anyways, my point is: maybe unfair, overcharged price leads to so much piracy in the markets? Because remember, most pirates are just people who cannot or will not be able to afford the full price (like students in colleges). If I earn $200 a week in my country (which is pretty good) and I want to buy a MW2 and there is a $70 or even $60 tag on it… You think I want to go that route? No matter what I have, PC or Xbox or PS3.. OR would I rather do some diggin around and find free version and do everything I can to play it on my gaming system?

And guess what, IW or Activision will get NOTHING for that transaction from $70 to free… And most people, biggest growing markets, are not in US or Europe.. The biggest purchasing power is already outside US… so I don’t see any sense in satisfying US markets only..

Here is some data to back my mumblings up:

    Greetings,

I have two epic battle cries. The first goes to Mr. Grice for commenting that perfect scores don’t necessarily mean perfect games. They can also mean that the game delivered on everything it was aiming for, that delivered on everything a fan of the genre could want. So, in that respect, Mr. Kayser, I think you should not be afraid of granting a game a perfect score because it seemed to me you have this notion that nothing can be “perfect” unless God deems it so… that or you rather play it safe in case of backslash.

My battle cry this week goes out to Ubisoft Montreal.

After seeing all that they’ve shown us so far with Assassins Creed 2 (and also reading/watching previews on sites such as GT, IGN etc) it looks as if they actually listened to the community and did what their fans wanted. I hardly see any game companies these days actually taking their fans/ communities advice on board and using it to create a better game for those who want to play it. And hell, there were some real issues with ACI, but low and behold it looks like Ubisoft sat down, talked things over and have finally made the game they should have origionally. If ACII sells well (which I’m sure it will) hopefully this sucess will be an inspiration for those other companies outt here who don’t give a flying crap about what their fans want (such as Infinity Ward and this lack of dedicated servers).

Also, keep up the good work guys! Love the show.  Quote

    Good episode again.

    Agreed with OrangeWacko here.
The reason I play FPS games on PC, and will never play them on consoles are two: far superior graphics, and far superior precision controls. I will not stand for either of these being dumbed down on consoles, and it makes the experience not worth it.
I could care less if MW3 never comes out for PC after this. If IW/Activision aren’t going to deliver a great game experience, then there’s no point in having the game anyways. After this nonsense I wont be buying MW2 for PC. I will stick with MW1 if I feel the need.
If these ignorant companies want to screw over the community that has built them up to their current lofty positions in favor of crappy console gaming, then let them. Maybe someone else will step in and take their place in the PC market and make some games that don’t screw fans over. Either that, or PC gaming will die, and so will the hardware and software market surrounding them. Believe me, if that happens, console games are fucked too.

As far as ratings, I generally don’t pay attention to them. I take in reviews, make notes of their criticisms and think about whether that would bother me or not. In the end, they usually don’t affect whether or not I buy a game. After all, my favorite reviewer is Zero Punctuation, and Yahtzee almost universally hates everything, but I will still play the games he cans. I’ve never seen a review on Gametrailers below a 6, which is dumb. Why even bother having a 10 point scale at that point.  Quote

Anyways, this is an addendum to my previous comment:

I just spent $1300 on a new gaming rig that I’m going to build myself. $1300 to enjoy those benefits of PC gaming I just mentioned: superior graphics, better controls, and personalization/customization in the game experience.

If that isn’t dedication, I don’t know what is. Even if I play some pirated games here and there, I have poured tons of money into the PC gaming economy.
Game developers would do well to remember this. PC Gamers investments in gaming hardware (which cannot be pirated) are a big part of what keeps the industry running I’m sure. It might not be a direct funnel of income to game developers, but it unquestionably keeps them afloat. Not to mention that developments in PC hardware financed by us consumers is what allows them to develop new games with new technology in the first place.  Quote

Talking about Netflix, I would gladly even purchase (I wouldn’t pay a lot for it) a disc to put in my PS3 for streaming movies if it means I don’t have to “turn the volume up to 11″ (nothing against Spinal Tap).

I’m starting to wonder if I’m the only one with this problem, but does anyone else’s 360 sound like a lawnmower even when it isn’t playing a game? Just turning it on makes one of the most god awful noises I have ever heard, and this is the 3rd one I’ve gone through. Sometimes I feel like I should be watching movies with subtitles turned on because I can barely hear what they are saying, but Netflix doesn’t use subtitles.

At least the PS3 is quieter regardless of whether there is a disc in it or not, I for one am extremely excited about this and have now renewed my account so I can stream movies once again.  Quote
