My Battle cry goes out to Steam and the guys behind the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise. If you bought any of the previous games on steam, you get a $10 discount on the latest installment. I think that this is a great way to reward long time fans of the franchise without giving out meaningless skins and weapons that no one cares about. Usually the early adapters are screwed over by publishers coming out with bundles that make the old version obsolete, and I feel like this is a good way to counter this phenomenon.

Your point @ 11 mins about the inevitable obsolescence of online play in games is especially poignant these days because so many games are trimming down their single player aspect in favor of adding multiplayer. Really gives all these games much less of a shelf life. Everything is become way too disposable lately.

I think a Diablo type game would work great for the iPad (sounds like a menstrual device). Instead of clicking an area to move you could use a touch screen analog stick on the left and a main attack button on the right that you can click 137 times per battle. Beside the main attack button you can have 4 smaller buttons; one for health/mana pots and the other two for special attacks.

My Battle cry goes out to The Witcher! There are a ton of games that have great atmosphere in the beginning but then it fades away ( Fallout 3, Dragon Age - don't kill it's still a kick-ass game). The Witcher is my favorite RPG and the story and flow of the game can only be equaled by Mass Effect. The base of them game, the books, were beautifully written and the game is almost at the same level. My first "mature" RPG and the sequel doesn't seem like it's gonna disappoint. (Still waiting for the third "leak"...)

I signed up for this site after reading the news that the Xbox 360 is coming out with a Limited Edition Console bundled with Final Fantasy XIII.

My Epic Battle Cry goes out to Microsoft wasting money on stupid shit like this instead of fixing the problems with the consoles hardware. Seriously, what the fuck is this? They spend millions of dollars purchasing the exclusive rights to the GTA: IV DLC for... Get this... Only a year in a possible sad attempt to move more faulty consoles off the shelves. They release tiresome exclusive consoles. Not console exclusive games, just useless consoles with a paint job. The Halo console, the Modern Warfare 2 console, and now the Final Fantasy XIII console. This seems like such a waste of money coming from someone who is on their THIRD Xbox 360. You guessed it, first two died. Third one is now making a grinding noise when I turn it on. Not a mild grinding noise, either. The kind where you drop a bag of small children's bones into a blender and turn it on full blast. Microsoft needs to sink some money into eliminating all of the issues with their consoles. Instead, it seems that Bill Gates would rather spend all of his lucrative earnings on chocolate flavored laxative so that he can take even bigger shits on our heads when we're not looking.

Hell, he may even do it while we're looking... He's so fucking rich he probably has a gadget to make him invisible.

That's my Battle cry. Why can't Microsoft focus money into existing customers? Do they really think I want to spend $300+ to get Final Fantasy XIII (sprawled across a lovely 19 discs, I'm guessing) and the SAME FUCKING DEFECTIVE CONSOLE that I already have?

My Battlecry is for Mafia! The most atmospheric game ever made (in my opinion)! The developers captured the period of the 1930s perfectly, with the music, voice acting, visual style, vehicles tone and mood complimenting each other. And this game came out in 2002!

It makes me wonder how amazing Mafia II will be, and also brings up another point - how much does technology effect the atmosphere and immersion in the games we play? Do better graphics automatically mean a more immersive game? Or do all these elements that I mentioned before compliment each other to create one whole, better experience? If one part of the game isn't as highly polished as the rest, I think that effects the rest of the game and the overall immersion and atmosphere.

Cheers guys.

My Battlecry goes to Half-Life. Originally I thought of going with Half-Life 2, but Half-Life set the standard of games for me, and it still holds true to this day. No other game for me makes you feel as if you truly are this character. You are Gordon Freeman. The game may be one of the more linear titles ever but you still feel like you are making an impact at Black Mesa. Also, everything about the game was top notch which helped to pull you into this crazy messed up world even more. The interactions with the NPCs, the music, the way the story unfolded literally right before your eyes, the creepy G-Man constantly watching you. Half-Life set an amazing standard to measure other shooters or action/adventure games for me in all aspects of the game, but especially the atmosphere.
