Fell deeds awake! Now for wrath. Now for ruin. And the red dawn! Its time once more, for another Skirmish of EpicBattleCry! This week, we get a release date for DeathSpank, ponder the laundry list of new features announced for Gran Turismo 5, make some Ice-T in Gears of War 3 jokes, and discuss if Sony’s rumored move to prioritize the PlayStation Move over Heavy Rain‘s next DLC is a portent of things to come.
With E3 2010 over, we look back and discuss our take-away moments and games from this year’s show. What inspired us; what infuriated us; what made us question the nature of the universe? We’ve got everything from Zelda: Skyward Sword, to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, XCOM, and even Onlive; five things each, in no particular order, that we had to share from this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
If you’ve got a comment on the show, sound off below, if you’ve got a Battle Cry you want to share, click here and sound off on the latest topic-started post! Stay sharp.

FINNALLLYYYYYYYYY YAAAAYAYAYAYAYA Thank god never go away for more than a week. i feel like a friggen junkie. “when am i gonna see some axe”
GOD I MISSED YOU GUYS!!!!! AWESOME SHOW!!!!!!!
2 WEEKS WITHOUT THE CRY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been a long time coming. Now just gotta wait for the download……
It’s been far too long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sick of watching IW, u guys are awesome
glad you guys are back have missed the podcast
Awsome, and very long show! haha! Welcome back guys, we missed you!
Cheers axeheads!
Onlive works well for me and I live in FL. In some games you can’t even tell any lag but a few first person shooters you can definitely tell the lag. Some games the lag is playable but games like Borderlands and Assassin’s Creed 2 it is not playable at all. The games have a blurry look to some of them and you can tell that it isn’t installed and running from your computer’s hardware. So far the service is ok and not what they play it out to be but it is still very early. The tech is very impressive and if they keep going the way they are going now then the service is going to be worth it.
The reason Zelda doesn’t look good?
Nintendo doesn’t care about graphics.
I feel like Nintendo is behind the times when it comes to games. While of course the most important aspect of a game is gameplay, gamers do want the best looking game possible. Nintendo, even if you’re not wanting to “fight the dinosaurs” in a graphics battle, that’s what gamers want, so freakin’ throw us a bone!
Life is good again
It was about THAT time, great to have you back guys. with another sweet-ass-skirmish
But i also have to address a thing or two:
First, what makes you think Last Guardian will be next seen @the end of year (TGS) and not earlier? there are a few other events coming like Gamescom…
Second, i’m a bit surprised(not to say disappointed)with the pole results although i kinda understand (Kinect sucks but Move does either for me) i thought it would be closer between MS & Sony, but Nintendo won anyway.
Other than that, i completly agree with your E3 summary. i’m hyped for all the core games you’ve mentioned!
Peace.
ps: my battle cry goes out to Gears of War 3 aka MS best(looking) hardcore title from E3. You can stop bashing it for minor supporting roles it’ll deliver just like the other titles in the franchise did before & outsell Killzone once again! Even without the next big thing – 3D ;P
I agree with Daniel that Zelda should have went with a Wind Waker graphics style. Only problem is all the whiny bitches out there that complain all the time about that particular art style. Wind Waker was awesome, people really have to realize this.
Monday nights have been boring! Happy you guys are back and in better form then ever. Great show! Good laughs!
The length of the show was great. You covered a ton of stuff.
thanks for checking out Deus Ex and yes i read impressions from Lorin and now i can ‘t wait to get this game. Yes, there is some things that die hard Deus Ex fans will not like but overall i don ‘t see any real letdown that could possibly ruin franchise more than Ion Storm already did with IW
Actually i already got to see leaked footage too.
z is just because always someone already had taken my nickname so i always add something like z or x at the end.
P.S. that Brockz actually is just Brock.
Hey guys… nice to see EBA again. Funny how you can take a good thing for granted.
Anyway, just wanted to throw this out there for shits and giggles, but I find it kind of interesting how Sony and Microsoft are finally trying to do the Motion control and try and grab a piece of the casual market from Nintendo. But on the other hand Nintendo has already dominated that market, and has come full circle and is now, as we saw from their impressive press conference, nailing the “hardcore” market with guns blazing.
It looks like, the way Nintendo has handled this generation of gaming, they are going to go on and hold onto first place indefinitely. I must say, I didn’t think Nintedo would hold onto their lead, but they’ve just done a fantastic job in this generation.
Re: Gran Turismo 5 karting
I wrote this in the news post you wrote about it, but again:
The reason they have karting is because it’s a huge part of how drivers get started in motorsports.
Unless I’m mistaken, the only Formula 1 champions in the last three decades who did not start their careers karting are Hill in 96, Mansell in 92, and Rosberg in 82.
All current F1 drivers started their careers karting.
Obviously Polyphony are going to have a larger focus on motorsports in GT5, with WRC, Nascar and F1. It makes total sense to have karting.
FINALLYYYY! I’m not sure how much longer I could’ve went without an EBC.
The proof is not in the pudding. ‘The proof of the pudding is in the eating’ is the correct term.
Please make sure you are using correct phrases in the future, that made no sense and it left me feeling cold and embarassed.
Im going out on a limb here, but isnt the revamping of the old games, maybe a sign of the game-industry of lacking new ideas?? Just saying. That doesnt make the games bad by any means, hell X-com looks awesome, but where are the new IP’s. Maybe thats the word of this E3: Revamp.
What I didnt get with the Poll is that Sony had so much a percentage… Did I watch a different presser? or was it more aimed at the entire show? cause the press event was rather boring. 2 long long hours, with a lot of talking and a lot of montages. Microsoft and Sony in my opinion were more akin, then what Sony now managed to get so close to Nintendo…
I stayed up late to finish watching,
Freaking love you guys! E3 coverage was pretty sweeeeet!!
Now before I’m not tired anymore, cya axelords and axeheads later
Nice episode, now that we are talking about fanservice, why ISNT THERE ANOTHER JEDI KNIGHT game, those games were great, fun, even if you would play them today…
Also, where was hitman 5
Agree about motion shit! Glad that people can see how stupid these things are. Unless you really want to throw your money out to pat the tiger.
Axe-cellent, Axe-citing and Axe-static show, as always. Missed you guys. E3 coverage at EBA site was amazing, considering the staff/resources. And at least the servers here weren’t down
(or not that I noticed)
OMG OMG OMG, new episode! I will cry!!!
LOL I know what you mean especially after having to live on a diet of sub-par more inferior pod casts like invisible walls, sesslers soapbox, and feedback. Glad to see you guys finally back at it. BTW, doesn’t DK bare a striking resemblance to either a young John Lennon or Paul McCartney in the bill and ted picture??
True… Sony had long and boring event, but Sony also had a lots of good games, and easily best moments in eny press event this year. I mean ofc: Kevin Butler, Portal 2 surprise and awesome Twisted Metal event with ice cream truck on stage.
I’m on a conference in France, don’t speak any french, and my hotel wifi is a trip to shittytown.. thank the heavens for your mp3 download and your awesome show to keep my sanity! If I find a goat somewhere around here, I shall sacrifice it to Thor and the Mighty Axe Lords..
(Maybe put the guy on the registration desk on there too, just for good measure..)
First of all, very good skirmish overall and great to see you back. Second im sorry for this “WALL OF TEXT” you are about to recieve. I was planning on a shorter response but got carried away and lack the heart to cut out my arguments =)
I just want to voice my opinion on a subject that were discussed during the skirmish wich was Move support for Heavy Rain. While I agree that it doesn´t add much in terms of replay value to the game I still think you were beeing a bit onesided in your discussion. Flip this discussion around and think how this affect the launch of Move.
While I currently have no plans on buying Move at launch (maybe ever), mainly because I want to see how well it plays with actual games first, it definitely does not help if there is no games other than casual games for people to play at launch.
If the patch is free and they actually put some work into it, not just simply mapping the six axxis to Move, this could actually be a pretty good title to showcase Move since most of the actions in the game are context sensitive and based on what the character is doing. Whether or not it actually will enhance immersion that was marketed as a big part of Heavy Rain remains to be seen. In an old skrimish you wanted people to voice their opinions on wich games that potentially may work well with motion controls and I think strategy games were given as an example. Like I said I think this title would suit Move well.
Also Heavy Rain is a playstation exclusive that has sold over a million copies. We know that Killzone 3 will have Move support. Making sure different titles like that is supported at launch for Move does not seem like a bad thing to me either from a hardcore gamer perspective. It actually gives credibility to Kevin Butlers nice speach about gamers. Players of all types should be able to enjoy gaming and play games no matter of what controller they want to use. Maybe this is part of their new mantra and not just a funny speach. I just wish more back catalog exclusive titles like Uncharted 1-2, Killzone 2, God of War 3, Demons Souls and such could be played at launch beacause then I would get instant feedback if this is something for me or not, depending on how well it worked with the games. If the games played well then I could jump aboard the “movement” at launch otherwise some people might still want to use Move for certain games or could maybe slowly guide the casual players to a more hardcore type of experience.
Since I in general dont care to much about DLC and almost never feel like I get my moneys worth for small addons to games like this it wont hurt me personally but I guess some people might be upset at the delay. But developers actually supporting the system they release games for, and the latest tech for that system, instead of something that pherhaps would bring them more money in the short term should be commended not flamed in my opinion.
When you say Nintendo about the new Zelda “being a painting coming to life” did you forget the cell shade like that has been done already? Prince of Persia 2008 ring a bell?
Oh, for Onlive, I was listening to Invisible Walls and Shane (GT’s editor-in-chief I believe…) has been using it out in San Francisco. He said Arkham Asylam was playable but a racing game was just unplayable (I think he said Forza?).
Hey guys, love the show as always.
If you guys are reading this, i would love for you to touch on an issue that is near and dear to lot of peoples hearts.
the MIA sequel to the Half-life series. Whether they are working on half-life 3 or half-life 2 episode 3. A lot of us are heartbroken that we are left in dark with blue balls after the end of half-life 2 episode 2 showing such promise for the an epic sequel. I dream of endless vent shafts and crowbar wielding power. My whole life, if there is one developer i can say i put all my trust in, its valve. If time is what its taking to make this game brilliant than by all means do some work but with not even a mention at e3 2010 i find myself anxious for the first time when it comes to a title from valve. With all this hype over portal i hope Freeman hasn’t been left beyond time and space once again.
I live in San Diego. Like 300-400 miles away from SF’s Onlive servers. And the Gaming is awesome. Assassin’s Creed is super awesome and runs smooth. I think they really actually might succeed. I was going to put down 2k for a new pc just for games. Now I don’t really have to cause OnLive exists. My PC is not bad but its not as good as I would have wanted it to be. But seriously I recommend to anyone in my situation to at least try OnLive, cause I heard even people that don’t pay will be able to play demos later.
Probably because of the “long” wait for the skirmish, I once again realised just how awesome you guys are – and how badly I need this show!
keep it up…
and…
listening to brent raving about SWtOR is starting to get me REALLY pumped. Im not really a big MMORPG player, mainly because of the monthly fees and so on – but it seems like this has the potential to freakin’ destroy any remains of a my social life outside of the internets!
I think sooner or later I’ll be like: “Fuck it they can have my money AND my soul, just give me this game” ;P Anyone else feeling like this?
cheers erveryone
But do best moments overtake the three quarters of boring stuff? in my opinion at least at the presser not. At the floor there probably was a lot of interesting stuff for not only Sony but also Microsoft, and im aiming at the hardcore games.
had about enough of E3 now but before we look towards TGS i just wanna say where as i agree that N “won” with the games and 3DS, what do they have for next year? the only thing that could keep up that momentum is new hardware that out performs the PS3 and 360.
Sony had a lot of expectation on them and overall under delivered but i think have Newell on stage was the biggest coup this year, it out did Kojima on the 360 stage last year not just by his presence there but the whole Steamworks thing. for me? that and KB stole the show.
MS? OK maybe next year guys but thanks for coming you’re great really.
I was hoping to see a PSP2 as well but i think that Sony had no answer to the 3DS and have invested so much in the current format that they have to see a return/consolidation/establishment on/of that first before moving on to new handheld hardware.
So then, TGS. New PSP2? maybe, i kinda hope so. and…..the last guardian with a team ICO HD collection (probably with Move compatability) re-release a la GOW collection. that would have the gaming world chomping at the bit and i just can’t see what N would have to answer that other than more 3DS.
and it’s worth remembering that TGS is a turf war for Sony and N on home soil. where as E3 is bigger in the west, because it’s in English, TGS is a battle for honour, and you know what the Japs are like when it comes to honour.
So, N owns E32010. Sony sees your E32010 and rasies you TGS2010. your move. (shit sorry didn’t mean to put in a move pun there. sorry)
good to have you guys back! just happened to watch the sony e3 press conference and saw tony’s massive head. lol if anybody is curious you can see him in the second part of the press conference at the beginning of kevin bulter’s EPIC speech.
well it’s about f’ing goddamn time!!!!!!! can’t wait to hear it tmw
Whats up my pilgrims of pacifism! my indolents of indifference! (am I on the right track with those?) With all the recent focus on shooters and military games recently, such as Gears 3, Crysis 2, MoH etc etc….It spun my mind back to one of my all time favorites, FULL SPECTRUM WARRIOR. Now while I realise this game was a somewhat acquired taste, it was a freakin awesome tactical shooter, with plenty of action. I just wish that (despite the tragic demise of Pandemic) THQ would find a way to bring this IP back to the spotlight in a NEW iteration for the current Gen. The list of awesome things they could do with FSW on 360 and PS3 hardware frankly is too long to mention (just use your imagination people). I was hoping that Dragon Rising would be the FSW for today, but boy did Codies drop the ball on that one. Come on THQ, you KNOW its the right thing to do! Its a game I would definitely T-H-Queue for. (move over DK)
How goes it, my lieutenants of loitering, my sergeants of shenanigans, how art thou?
My battle cry this day goes out to shady video game dealers (that aren’t named GameStop). An independently owned game store near where I live, which I won’t name due to it getting undeserved attention, sells games for massive amounts more than what any other retailer would sell them for. They prey on the people who are uninformed about what games are actually worth, and then proceed to bleed them dry.
Point being, research prices on games before you buy them, look for the best deals you can. I know it sounds like useless advice, but if everyone followed it, stores like this wouldn’t exist. Don’t let anyone, be it GameStop or otherwise, screw you over.
I’d like to shout out a big epic Battlecry to something I’m most impressed by:
The Force unleashed 2 website
If you haven’t, you need to check it out
it’s amazing how engaging it is, they don’t just show you excerpts from the story, but give you addictive little mini-games as a puzzle to solve in other to get the content
“my favorite is the four way pong”
it’s too much awesomeness to place in one post, you need to check it out for yourself to really appreciate all the little details
“I would describe the webpage as simply dynamic”
It’s amazing, from the drone monitoring your status in the background to the rain outside, everything about it is awesome
hopefully more game websites will incorporate that idea
Seems like Star Wars have been doing everything awesomely lately, props to them for that
My Battle Cry goes to the announcement of the new GoldenEye for the Wii. The original was one of the first games to truly have an addicting multi-player side to it, and anybody who has played it on the N64 can testify to that.
I know that it will get bashed for its graphics, and I have to agree that they aren’t the prettiest out there. But I think that Nintendo is focusing on making this a truly great online multi-player FPS for the Wii. And it’s about time. I would love to have an awesome FPS with excellent online play, and I think the Wii needs one. And I’m willing to let the graphics quality slide a little; as long as we get a quality, lag-free, online gaming experience thats done right.
The Axe is Back!! Great show, as always.
Hey guys best show on the web….
My members battle cry is in the form of a question, I was wondering what are you’re thoughts on PC gaming now and what will happen to it in the future, with studios like Epic Games saying they wont make anymore games for PC due to piracy. Do you think that PC games will turn into the Asian MMO system where its free to play but you buy what you want/need, as seeing RTSs like Company of Heroes is heading that way? Or do you think this sort of system will die off?
Thank Heaps
ps could you give a shout out to my clan website 1skgaming.com we all watch your show religiously….
Salam Walekum…my battlecry goes out to the current hadoken barrage of health related ‘get out of your couch’ type video games hitting the market……what……the…….f……If we want to workout, we go outside or to the gym..What kind of disgusting slob wants to sweat in their living room with a controller in their hand infront of an hd widescreen….are these developers implying that the gaming consumers are fat ?? just look at how many games they have that relate to fitness, they have a freaking game teaching you hot to breathe…..Playing video games is about laying on your couch with a bag of potato chips by your side, wacking noobs online..not doing side squats infront of the television….what do you guys think about these health fitness games ?

The Heavy Rain news really irritates me. I wasn’t that hellbent on getting the DLC or anything, but the fact that it is being delayed for Move support is pure bullshit. Like you said, how many people are really going to want to replay the game just because Move is added? I’m going to say maybe 1% of the owners.
Not only can 2K marin make only fps games, looks like they can only make FPS games set in the 50′s.
Kinect: the cat runs by and you lose the game. woo!
I’m thinking the 3DS glasses-free 3D technology has entirely to do with the fact that it’s handheld. Glasses are required when you are looking at a TV because the manufacturer has no idea how far or from what angle you will be viewing the TV from. With a handheld platform, it’s always at arms length, and although arm lengths differ by inches on people, I think that’s something they can compensate for a lot easier.
Ok just stop it…. Stop complaining when a new game, perifial or konsole comes out…. You don´t live in a part of the world where you have to pay extra “fees” when buying a new game,konsole,cd,dvd,blu-ray,pc-hardware or accessories for any of the previously mentioned items….
I have too pay roughly between 20% to sometimes even 50% more when i want new hardware and software… You have no reason to be complaining you don´t know how lucky you have it not to mention the fact that you get “actual” special versions of most software….
We get them too “just not very often” but they are just really “REALLY” watered down versions and sometimes it´s absolutly ridiculous they even went to all the effort of having these “special versions” made because they are basically just the standard version with the “special versions” cover/boxart and if were really lucky we might just get a poster with that but we still have to pay more then you did for your “actual” special versions….
Ok just a little positive thing also great show i hope you get to do it for a long time still….i would miss it….
See it´s not all bad….
Hey guys, It’s good to have you back!! I was really disappointed with Xbox at this years E3. I thought they were going to play it smarter with Kinect than they actually did. I kind of assumed that everything they demonstrated in the way you use Kinect previously to the official E3 demonstration were just draft ideas on the way it could be used.
Originally I heard that Johnny Li had joined Microsoft to help develop Xbox hardware. Immediately I thought this would lead to Kinect tracking your head movement and they would blow the audience away with an almost 3D like experience using head tracking. No need for 3D glasses or head gear and you don’t have to upgrade your t.v to use it! I could imagine how much more fun an FPS would be running through a building ducking behind walls and peering round corners before shooting an enemy in a more interactive environment. I’m sure everyone here has seen Johnny Li’s demo on youtube for head tracking but if you haven’t take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-
Unbelievably it was exactly what they hinted at originally and wasn’t just a hint towards the way you could play Kinect but actually is the way you play Kinect. Then they gave the public the final slap across the face by announcing the launch of a bunch of ‘Gimmik Games’ that left me waiting for the punchline or Johnny Li bursting out of a cake on stage and revealing what Microsoft were really going to do. But alas, there was no big innovative surprise which is what you should expect at an E3 show.
the axe is back!
woo woo!
Great ep guys! Glad to have you back!
I just got into the Onlive trial thing last night myself. I’m living in Northern New Jersy with one of the faster cable networks out there, and it still has a bit of an input lag. Not to mention some games won’t allow customization of mouse sensitivity and some other important factors. The lack of custom mutators in UT3 is a real shame as well.
It’s also 4-6 bucks to play a game for 3 days. I actually own UT3, just used it as a way of finding out what it’s like compared to the version I usually play. With the input lag (though minor, it’s still there), the lack of sensitivity options (Unless I missed it, of course), and complete lack of customization, I don’t see this doing too well at all.
These are all things that can and probably will be ironed out. The absolute pro to this would be that you can use it from your spiffy high tech monster to the little netbook you’ve got downstairs.
All in all, there’s a huge promise behind the service if they’re looking to bag some of the console gamers who just can’t afford a $3-400 machine. Honestly, I couldn’t see anything better for them. Those of us who own these consoles and a PC that can play Crysis or whatever else is a PC game that requires beeftastic computers really don’t need to waste the cash.
Long post is long. Oh! And it’s good to see you guys at it again! My weeks felt a little empty without the podcast.
What’s up! My companions of catastrophe, my druids of disembowelment! How art thou?
My battlecry goes out to Steam and their summer specials this past week. A huge chunk of my wallet has gone towards the great deals Valve has been offering to keep us inside and away from danger this summer. So many good titles have been anywhere from 33%, to 90% off which has led me and my bud to use up our graduation money for games like L4D 1 and 2, Borderlands, Misadventures of PB Winterbottom, GTA San Andreas, and many more. If PSN and XBL had more sales like these, I’m sure they’d have great success with it as well. So thanks Valve for keeping me safe!
Hello my Duchesses and Devastation… my Monarchs of mastication how art thou. Anyway my battle cry goes AGAINST the 3DS. To be honest I think people are getting over excited about it and I think people need to take a step back and take a deep breath. Please before you gather your torches and pitchforks hear me out. Before I get to the 3DS specifically I first want to address 3D in gaming in general. When talking about 3D in gaming the verdict is still out and I think the main reasons some people might be against it is because most of time when 3D is implemented its almost always the only focus and more often than not just a gimmick. I think 3D is similar to better graphics or surround sound audio in that it should support the atmosphere and immersion of the game but not be the only focus. Just like with 3D and movies for a long time. Hollywood and movie fans have never truly embraced until recently. This is mainly because any movie that implemented 3D has made 3D the focus and advertised it as so making it a 3D spectacle rather than a movie with 3D. The main reason for the current 3D buzz was because of Avatar. James Cameron made the perfect use of 3D. He used 3D to SUPPORT his film rather than BE the film. Avatar has a great story and great artistic vision and uses 3D to ENHANCE the feeling. 3D is not that much different than HD graphics or surround sound and music. Look at MGS4, imagine MGS4 without its great musical score. It would still be a great game but when you look that the “microwave-tunnel” scene the music really adds to the moment and really pulls you in (also why the Deus Ex: HR trailer is AWESOME). Look at Deadspace the great surround sound and sound effect really make you feel like you are in a foreboding place where you need to be careful every second and along with environments make you feel very tense. Things like that can really make a big difference and 3D is the same. While 3D can actually help the gameplay is games like MLB the show for the most part is should enhance the game not just thrown in there to add a bullet point on the back of the game. The main point I want to get across is the that 3D doesn’t really effect the actual gameplay to a major degree and nor does it have
Now before I relate this to the 3DS I want to briefly want to touch upon the PSP(you’ll see where I’m going with this). The PSP, while not a complete failure, is generally said to not have really cracked the handheld market. The hardware itself hasn’t sold that badly but the software is another story. This is mainly because sony approached the handheld market the wrong way. They thought “why don’t we take the console experience and shrink it down to a portable experience”. This is the fundamental problem with the PSP. While this sounds likes a great idea that is not what the handheld is about. The reason iphone/ipod touch game market has taken off is because it embodies what a handheld is about which is simple, cheap, pick up n’ play type games. Handheld games aren’t really about visuals, great sounds, or really even great experiences to the same leve as a metal gear game or a god of war type experience. It is simply about fun games that you can play every now and then not about console level experiences.
Now this finally brings me to the 3DS and why I think it is a flawed idea from the start. 3D should be a tool that should enhance and support the experience of playing a game and that is something that is not integral to the handheld experience. When you’re talking about console games you want them to be immersive however handheld games are suppose to fun games that you take in short intervals. This is why I think the 3DS is more of a gimmick than a revolution. Sit down and think will any game really benefit from having 3D? Sure you might be able to think of a few instances like sports games or nintendogs but for more hardcore fans Zelda, metroid, and other games won’t benefit much on the 3D side. Don’t get me wrong I know the 3DS will sell like hotcakes and casual titles like nintendogs will sell just as well but the way I see it the 3DS for hardcore game will be just as effective as the wii’s motion controls were which is essentially nothing. Don’t get me wrong the 3DS from a technical perspective looks very interesting but I think people are getting ahead of themselves. People always think that the main hurdle that 3D has to overcome is the glasses and while that might be a problem it is not thee problem. Just like movies the main hurdle for 3D is not be a spectacle but rather be effective without being a gimmick and that’s the problem with the 3DS. 3DS games specifically lend themselves to be gimmicks rather than real games or remade games with 3D support and nothing more. The main purpose of a handheld is the gameplay and 3D will not innovate gameplay. As I said before 3D is best used when enhancing the immersion and feel of the game, it’s when you try to build gameplay around 3D when problems arise and in handhelds gameplay is pretty much the only thing you’re looking for. To be honest this is why games like killzone 3 are a much better use of 3D in gaming than anything on the 3DS. I think gamers are way too excited about the gadget p0rn the 3DS is and are forgetting the games. Yes initially the 3D effect will be great and it will be hailed the best thing since sliced bread (hate that statement) but as the months past you’ll realize that almost all the games are the exact same( wii syndrome part 2). I’m not saying expect the 3DS so completely suck but, especially after the wii, I hope people learn to be cautiously optimistic.
P.S. sorry for the wall of text
