Spears down and advance; its time for another edition of EpicBattleCry! This week, we revel in the announcement of Street Fighter X Tekken, ponder the new Dragon Age: Origins DLC headed our way, settle in to wait on SOCOM 4 in 2011, and discuss the newly emerged details for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
In last week’s skirmish, we tackeld one of the most significant topics in gaming: reviews and review scores. During the conversation, one reviewer in particular drew our condemnation: Destructoid.com reviews editor, Jim Sterling. This week, Mr. Sterling boldly goes Under The Axe, to answer the criticism leveled against him and discuss his position on ratings, reviews, and ruffianism. Be sure to check back this week for the full, un-edited interview with Jim; only on EpicBattleAxe.com!
The Battle Cry of the Week hails Street Fighter IV on the 3DS, raises a glass to voice-acting legend Frank Welker, calls on BioWare to not let the accountants run the studio, and puts reviews in perspective.
If you’ve got a comment on the show, sound off below, if you’ve got a Battle Cry you want to share, click here and sound off on the latest topic-started post! Stay sharp.

Assassin’s Creed II is my favorite game of all time.
Reading Jim’s review of it, even though it’s his opinion, made me sick.
WOOT! Great episode!
A quick question- a few podcasts ago, tony told a member if u can’t get a game in your country, bootleg it. In Australia, we can’t buy Tango, Blacklight Down. If it is possible to bootleg it, should I?
very cool that Jim came on the show and explained his way of thinking. Good interview.
And that Facebook feedback was incredibly AWESOME!!! very funny and very well written, good job on you sir.
I haven’t finished the podcast but review scores are SHIT..
We’re not all lazy on the internet.
Otherwise, love the show.
Keep on rockin!!
DevilDriver August 12th! :]
I totally agree on the test scores are not important, and I think Tony is wrong, many players simply do not consider buying games that less than 70% on Metacritic, the Hell I know people who will not buy unless the game becomes more than 80%
Great episode guys and really good work with the interview.
Great Episode!
You guys should really do that every week, that is telling us what you’ve been playing each week. You can keep it short – don’t have to go into detail or anything, just shouting it out… I think that would be kinda cool!
Oh, and that facebook comment was awesome, btw!!!!
Do you not have internet access? You can get any PC game for free very easily but you usually cannot play it online unless you purchase it legally.
The opinions expressed by Big D. do not necessarily represent those of EBA or Big D.
WHY CAN I NOT LOGIN TO THE FORUMS? THIS IS BULLSHIT! I GOT SOMETHING TO SAY! MUCH LOVE.
Have you registered an account on the forums? The forums use a separate login than the main site, check the FAQ for more details:

If you’re trying to login with your EBA.com credentials, then you just need to register for a forum account.
Tremendous skirmish, I have the same problem with posting on your forums,so thanks for the assist, will try the FAQ. It was good to hear a fellow Brit on EBA, I never heard of Jim Sterling until last week and I thought it was pretty decent of him to come on the show.
I can’t register in the forums,it says my email address is in use
Brent is absolutely right at the very end. It is obvious that the twitter “case closed” comment meant to everyone with a brain that there was no more discussion. Which is ironic considering his appearance here, so the discussion isn’t over…
Jim is going about criticism the wrong way, if he wants discussion the way he is doing it, is not of someone who wants a discussion. If someone is a “known” flamer then why do you respond to them Jim? Ever heard of pouring fuel on the fire?
I hate to say this EBA but you might have given Jim his “15 minutes of fame” not that he already had it but this will have many more people looking at Jim in a sympathic light and in turn more hits for Destructoid, basically this debate turned into PR moment for Jim. Next time if someone is on, make sure you get some hard evidence to back them in a corner not give them the PR they want.
Good one again, keep swinging! (the axe, that is)
Props to Jim for having the balls to go under the axe after last week. (wait, ‘balls’ and ‘under the axe’… I’m starting to feel uncomfortable here)
Finally, that facebook thing was really well done. Never expected to say that in the same line as facebook.
Looks like you already have an account on the forums. If you can’t log in, try going here and resetting your password (again, check the FAQ for more deets):

THERE IS SO MUCH WIN THIS TUESDAY, WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT EBC 84 IS HERE!!!!!!!
Superb episode guys. On another topic; why is there no option in this latest weeks poll for ‘None’? I, myself, am not particularly hyped about any of the aforementioned super hero games, nor do I see myself buying any of them.
My Epic battle cry goes out to Jim Sterling! I was really surprised that he was willing to come on the show and basically stand up for what he belives in and stand by his reviews! many people are quick to write him off as an A-hole (you guys included), even tho they have never met or talked to the man… personality doesnt always shine through in the written media, so much respect to Jim, and after hearing what he had to say and hear his side of the story, it really made me think that he could be on to something that many or some other reviewers are not.
And that is catering to the publishers and seeking some sort of approval or recognition (who doesn’t remember the atrocities at Gamespot over the Kane & Lynch review)
I mean, you can’t blame a guy for giving his honest opinion in a review… All reviews should have a line in bold letters in the beginning saying: This review contains only my own opinion on the *insert random media* You should NOT base your own opinion solely on this review!
or some shit like that!
peace out!
That Jim guy just showed how much of a cynical, close-minded, narcissistic bigot he really is, in all honesty.
He has double standards for his own propositions and hypocritically defends them. He eccentrically defines what’s pricky, when the time is to be a prick, when you should distinguish the two, and so on.
You can’t say people have a chance to have an intelligent discourse if only deemed intelligent by your contrite opinion of their stance/opinion. I think it’s best in your intention to instead, be as objective as humanly possible when approaching a situation like that.
Also, that review anecdote I think is entirely crap as well. The reason why so many black-white reviews hover around 6-10 I believe, is because the more increments you add to the scale, the harder it is for a person to divide and distribute their feelings.
I think 5 point scales are much better, ironically give a much better sense of tone I think, ironically arguing Jim’s point. GiantBomb does it best.
Either way, review scores stand to do nothing but reaffirm the idiocy that is the “internet’s opinion” which jim so hastily objects to. You can’t expect to have an intelligent readership when you’re handing out stupid-ass 10-scale review scores; whether it’s at the end of a wall of text or not. It’s a false expectancy that stifles the community.
Dude needs to get over himself, frankly. He’s oblivious to his elitism — he mistakes it for brutal honesty/objectivism. *WHOOSHHH right over your head, axe-idiot!*
Jim Sterling didn’t help himself out much with what he was saying.
You guys were trying to point out that his reviews should do the talking and he doesn’t need to defend himself, his review is the only thing he needs. There’s no reason for such replies, and you guys were trying to tell him that. Seems as though he’s just trying to show that he’s above his readers, or more intelligent then them.
If I had a reader base I would definitely not treat them like that, after all he said that they are paying his bills. Then again, people apparently like the constant name calling, arguing etc. which is why it’s allowed and continues to happen.
DK made it clear that the review is the only thing necessary to get a reviewers point across, after that, it’s all about the attention from what I can tell.
I AM ROB BILL HOLEHOUSE….. YES!!!!
I can’t believe you blast this Jim guy in the last episode, he comes on this one, and you don’t even have counter-arguments for him. He essentially shrugged off what you had said previously as an unwarranted and uneducated attack, and not one EBC speaker had any counter to him; just a lot of ‘attaboys’ for coming on the show. Rough to listen to.
Kudos, Brent (I think?) for pointing out that Destructoid in general and Sterling specifically do not foster the sort of environment that encourages valid responses. They get trolls because they are trolls, they don’t get reasonable discussion because they don’t provide it. They perpetuate the troll culture, and reap what they sow.
And it must be said: for such a fat man, it’s shocking how high and reedy Sterling’s voice is.
What up my my implode-rs of demolition my exploders of destruction.
My epic battle cry goes out to my favorite comic book game was X-men Legends one. The game was good, long and hard. Thats what she said. This game didn’t have cheat codes or let you pick a difficulty level. Unlike many games today it required you to gain skill and was hard. The action was fast pace and you became immersed into the game play and felt like you where on of the characters. There where a lot of Easter eggs for fans of the X-men series. This game was before the DLC and preorder bull(guitar sound). So the game came with all the characters and missions. Although you could only play as Professor Xavier on one mission which was complete bull(guitar sound). Overall the game was great and a delight to comic book fans. I hope the make an X-men legends 3 because marvel Ultimate alliance 2 sucked.
MY BATTLE CRY
whats up my fellow axe wielders how art tho. I just wanna say first off I love the show been watching it since day one and cant get enough of it keep up the good work guys, anyway Brent about what you said about the DLC for story driven games I completely agree with you its one thing to put out dlc like maps and stuff for MP but putting out SP DLC takes a lot more time dedication to make. For example Alan Wake one of my new most treasured games now because of the story and how it ending with the “wtf” cliff hanger I just simply cant get enough of it im so glade remedy just released this week the first DLC for the next part of the story, they did a genius thing with cont the story of the game leaving you with still wanting more. I totally think that other game designers should learn from these guys and realize that its not always about the MP but the story as well in a game. Thanks guys keep it up!!!!
Ooh and Brent, me as a Dutchie have never read a Spiderman 2099 comic. What is so bad about this comic-dimension?
While I do want to give props to Jim Sterling for coming onto EBC, I really want to call massive amounts of bullshit on him.
First off, I’ve gone through a few of his reviews, and I’ve seen people come up with an actual, intellectual reason why they haven’t agreed with him, and I’ve seen him reply(literally) with “BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.” I’ve also seen him be downright mean with people who’ve just commented “it doesn’t deserve an 2/4/etc,” and while I understand that he might disagree with it, since he spent so much time working on a review, I don’t think it warrants a rude or snarky response. If someone says they don’t agree with my review, my first response wouldn’t be “well f*ck this guy, I’m just going to stomp on him to show him not to question ME!” I’d want to know what he doesn’t agree with me about. I’d try to at least encourage him to express his own opinion on the game, instead of telling him he’s wrong because he “didn’t design the ratings system for destructoid.” Or if he feels that these people are trolls(which he feeds like an old lady at a duck pond), just not respond at all. Or ban them, like we’ve done here. Because if someone(like me) where to just pop on to Destructoid, see a review and then see his comments, not knowing that some of those people are trolls, they’d leave and never come back. I don’t feel that kind of website fosters any kind of real growth or dialogue because any dissenting voice is almost immediately squashed, either by Jim himself or one of his boot-licking cronies.
Second, when he mentioned his review system, he was talking about reviewing Assassin’s Creed 2, when he put it into his system, he seemed like he was shocked at how low a score he had given it. If it surprises even you how bad you’ve scored a game, shouldn’t you at least give the system and the game a second look?
Third, I really don’t agree at all with his attitude regarding comments, especially his tweet regarding the previous EBC. You respond with a harsh statment and then “Case Closed,” you don’t send a message of “I think your comment was lacking structure and substance and you should rephrase that.” The message it sends is “F*ck you, The End.”
So, in closing, Jim Sterling did a good show and tried to spin things, but you go back and look at his body of work, you’ll find his actions on Destructoid speak far louder than his words on this Podcast.
Fluffy out.
I agree
I’m still not going to agree with Jim Sterling on his review scores, but he was very good at explaining his position in regards to pretty much every topic that was covered. I wonder if he did a lot of preparing for this interview of sorts, because his responses were just too flawless. Either way I don’t dislike him anymore as a person in the way I feel about someone like Bobby Kotick (not to say he was ever to that level of disgust), but now I just dislike him as a reviewer and nothing more.
He probably is a damn good writer though judging by the clarity on every point he was making.
No, just no. This is what he wants us to think, that “all other reviewers are giving us what the developers and publishers want us to see”. This is simply not true.
Other reviewers are looking at a game for what it is trying to be, Jim looks at the game as if he personally were playing the game, and if its not the kind of game “Jim” would like then Jim’s reviews reflect that. This is a terrible way to review games because you’d literally have to think exactly like him for his reviews to apply to you personally. Reviewers should attempt to get in the mainstream view point for whatever genre as much as possible when doing their reviews because that would ensure the most accurate impartial review you could possibly get for whatever game.
It just isn’t fair for a guy who hates whatever kind of game to review the genre, it would mean that the developer responsible for making said game had no shot at pleasing the reviewer because the reviewer hated the game before it even came out simply for being in the genre it was in.
If your shout out was “Jim seems like a decent guy with some interesting views”, sure, I’d agree whole heartedly,
but that Jim is a good reviewer.. No, just No!
even though i hated his assassins creed 2 review….i loved his final fantasy 13 review was awsome
Tony was talking about how noone really explores the whole spectrum of the review scores, and I think theres a good reason for that. I don’t give merit to the review scores, but here is a breakdown of what the scoring system says to me.
10-9 “Highly recommend this game to everyone, Its a must play title.”
8-7 “This is a pretty solid title, but don’t expect to be blown away, you’ll probably want to play it at some point.”
6-5 “I’m not going to recommend this title to anyone, it has some redeeming qualities, but the overall experience is very flawed.”
4-3 “This is a poor game, it has few redeeming qualities, but any good it has to offer is outweighed by the bad, it is recommended to stay away from this title.”
2-1 ” This game has absolutely nothing going for it, it is strongly advised you stay right away from this game.”
I’m not going to say that is 100% accurate on how everyone sees the scoring system, but I think its pretty accurate, and I don’t think most reviewers can on good conscience “condemn” a game to failure which is why I think they generally will give even the worst of games a 7 if possible, and resort to a 6 at the very lowest just to say it’s not a title they’re going to recommend to
their readers, but they aren’t going to recommend you don’t play it either. When done that way they don’t have to feel any personal guilt towards the developers if the game flops, and they don’t have to feel any personal guilt for recommending people to play a game that they wouldn’t have wanted recommended to them.
I think by giving a horrible game a 6 (when necessary, usually not in Jim’s case) they have fulfilled their obligation to both their readers and to the developers by pretty much keeping their hand out of it as much as possible and saying “what will be, will be”. Ultimately if a game gets a 4 or less overall and people do get put off by the unusually low overall score that could cause a game to flop, which could in turn cause a developer to go belly up, which wouldn’t be good for anyone. There’s few enough developers as it is.
Not to insult, but seeing how as you let some swears pass and others not, why not make the casts completely uncensored, or just have a seperate section for the uncensored casts? If you guys do it for the ‘On Tap’ segments, why not spread it to the original casts as well?
Great fucking show…the under the axe segment was truly awesome and i cant wait for more of it. The Dtoid reviewers does have a point to some degree…i mean when you have silly kids slamming ya review when the game was truly shit well a writer should take some offense (altho 4.5 on AC2 goddam…maybe for ac1 but ac2 was a moderately good game) also when someone jumps on a forums and begins a “nuh-uh…your wrong and im right” type of beef he should have every right to bitch back at him…however the masta viking made a point saying that retorting in such a manner might not generate the type of feedback that will make our industry better and might prevent the critical thinking and analyzing of a game along with a certain review….anyway kudos for the episode…you guys really are slowly takin ova the interwebs….i got my co-workers listening to this shit now lol
I think EBA pretty much had to do this. I like jim myself. (Not that im a fanboy of hes by any degree of the imagination, But he writes some entertaining articles and rewievs.) And the way EBA was beating up on him in the last episode they were doing the exact thing that they were acusing jim of doing. And from my point of wiev, Jim was justified in disregarding theire coments because of it. It would be pretty hypocritical of them not to let him come on and defend himself.
For some reason I feel Jim Sterling is just like anyone else in these forums, but with an immense amount of self-righteousness, which is not that great most of the time.
These days most “professional” reviewers DO feel they know more than anyone else when they speak about games, and they DO end up acting like arrogant pricks when someone doesn’t share their view. That’s my bit in regards to that.
As for DK’s battlecry, I think that the only way BioWare is going to reach 10 million units sold on any of their titles is by making them ALL multi-platform. Mass Effect 1 and 2 deserve a port to the PS3, specially right now that the PS3 is building up a very powerful momentum. I don’t know how much would be the penalty for getting off their contract with the devil (i.e. Microsoft) but I’m sure they could make it up with sales from their loyal fanbase.
I have ME1 on my PC, but I wish I could play it on my PS3 since it is a game I feel fits a console so much better.
Anyway, that’s it. Great show guys and thank you for bringing it up every week. I love you guys! …in a manly way..wait..not THAT way!
Cheers axeheads!
yo EBC,
i understand that this battlecry isnt on the topic of skirmish 84, but this still has to be seen!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gb7CNfMs65c&feature=popt00us07
in this video a group of gamers playing at a gaming cafe were attacked by masked robbers trying to take their money.
these gamers fight back and manage to force the criminals out of their store.
my battlecry has to go out to these brutal nerds for protecting their own and their home!
Sorry but i don’t agree with that at all. Jim has every right to respond to comments. I’ll admit sometimes he gets a little carried away and he admitted that himself but have you ever spent any time on Destructoid? Like honestly, a lot of the comments that voice an opinion opposite to him often end or begin with something along the lines of “you fat f@#king retard”. Maybe not those words exactly but you get my drift.
He has every right to respond to that sorta shit. I think DK was being a little overly harsh. Not to mention he’s a game blogger not a journalist for the New York Times, something Jim’s even said himself. Sure ignoring it would be just as effective but his come backs can be pretty entertaining.
Anyway, classy of him to come on and great episode as usual guys.
I have never ever hear of Jim Sterling, until last week on the axe.
He do, what Pach-Attack! on GT did, before people like me. Said he shut ignore it (and he did)… And that is target fans. Yes he is target Flamers & idiots, who have nothing ells to do… Then piss people off. But it is still not the right.
Bad Reputation for things like that… Make people like me, who doesn’t like that. Ignore reviewers like Jim Sterling, At all cost, no mater how good he is at his job.
But even if he good… There is really not a thing to be proud of… How sad is that !!!!
So my suggestion to Jim Sterling is… Just IGNORE Flamers & idiots, because they will always hurt you, no mater what.
During so… And you might get more better fans, like EBX here have
I’m just saying
PS..:
I only youse reviews and review scores as a guide, for games i youselig don’t play ^^ Ells i don’t care at all
FUCK YEAH!!! That was awesome! Talk about a Kick Ass inspired beating! Nerds wielding the axe!!!!! Love it!
I wish every game site was as well run as this one.
Nice episode dudes. Missed you on GameTrailers, ha.. but it game me the excuse to finally come visit your homebase. I can dig it.
I’m with you on the resurgence of fighting game hype. I’m no where near tournament level in my skill, but I dig the scene those cats have built up over the years. EVO 2010 was amazing this year, and it’s going international with at least one stop in Japan next year. That is outstanding, not just for fighting game fans, but for all of us who love video games.
I have to say, that even though I was hoping you cats would have bashed Jim heavily, complete with some of his actual bitchassed comments to those who don’t share his views, I think you did the right thing. You can’t encourage everyone to cry havoc and speak their mind, and then roast some dude who does not live up to what you consider professional or moral. Outstanding move and you’ve gained a new level of respect in my mind.
Anyway, thanks for putting up these shows every week, they are great.
Lil’ Soul
Greetings my fellow Axeheads, my Battlecry goes out to Blizzard and SC2. Is Blizzards stride ending? I know Starcraft 2 is a great game, but over here in germany even the special editions are starting to get dusty in stores and a friend of mine works at Blizzard and told me that the sales of SC2 were OK but by far not as good as Blizzard had anticipated!
What do you guys think? Does Blizzard need a new Franchise?
I dont agree at all with the people here saying they were dissapointed by the way that DK and co. handled Jim, because they didnt attack him enough? Like he said himself if you attack him he will attack you back. You know why? It’s no damn principle of his to stand up for himself, things like this give him TONS of publicity. I imagina alot of people myself included never even knew about this guy before last week, Jim realizes this and of course capitalizes on it by coming on the show and getting even more of the precious publicity.
But I think the show went down a little different than Jim had planned. See Jim is only really good at yelling and being offensive, thats why he’s hired and it is in, contrary to what he admits, a big way his schtick. EBA wanted to actually know his opinion and TRY to understand where he’s coming from, which is what many intelligent people try to do when they discuss with another person.
I think Jim screwed up here, because he wouldnt really admit that he only really does the calling out the rudeness all that stuff because its his thing and he’s gotta pay his bills. He’s kind of AVGN without realizing he’s just a character, the real guy probably wouldnt cry “fucking idiots” when someone critizes him.
PS.
I love AVGN so I don’t mean to insinuate they are the same kind of dudes, but merely trying to illustrate the difference that makes one very good and one very bad.
DS.
Danny boy actually made good points on this skirmish
I like ScrewAttack.com’s system of “Buy It, Rent It, or F’It” I really use review scores to tip the scales on games I’m on the fence with. Destructoid seems to use this a lot as well, scores are just used to get onto Metacritic.
Greetings!
My Epic Battle Cry goes out to the game Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects. It might not have an actual comic book but it has alot of great Marvel characters all mixed up in this amazing beat em up. The campaign might not be much to cheer about but it is the Super Smash style multiplayer that makes this game so great. I might even go so far as to say it’s more fun that Super Smash…
It’s great to see that games that are based of franchises like Marvel dont need to stay 100% true to the source material to be a great game.
“He later goes on to talk about how much he had with his friends while playing the game and using Spiderman even though everyone thought he was kinda overpowered.”
Warcries from Sweden my fellow axeheads!
My battlecry goes to the people of EBA. One thing have annyoed me ever since I first heard EBA last year. I´ve always asked myself why the hell EBA keeps censor their foul language in the podcasts? I mean who is EBA aiming at? Younglings or responsible gamers who have all heard cursing before? Maybe this is a somewhat unsual thing to be annoyed about with all the things evil companies do to us these days, but it bugs me. It bugs me that as a grown man listening to grown men talking about games (aiming to adults or at least older teens), actually SHOWING people get their heads chopped off in the podcast, showing texts in their podcast with such words as “fuck” & “shit” – that they actually have “bleep”-sounds every time Daniel, Brent or DK say anything like that. If you ask me, you´re gonna screw up a kid in more ways if you show him girls getting semi-raped from footages from a game then if you say shit and actually sticking with it. And this way we all could hear what Brent said to Jim Sterling the first time instead of guessing it! Cause the way it is now is on the borderline to hypocritical, something I never thought I would feel with EBA. So fuck the censor and be true about it! A win win for everybody…over 15 of age
Agreed. 100%. GameTrailers’ Invisible Walls show dropped the censoring a month or so back and, so far, have not received enough uproar about it to reverse the decision. We’re either all grown or have heard grown folk talk. And in all honesty, ‘curse’ or ‘swear’ words are a matter of perception anyway. It’s a bullshit construct of society to enforce universal morals on everyone. Ha.. I’ve experienced the sensation of hearing an acceptable word, such as hearing a kid call another kid ‘stupid’, said with far more scorn, venom and horrific intention than even the worst of the swear words could ever match.
Drop the censoring. Unless you actually feel the moral obligation to be acceptable, in which case drop the swear words altogether so you don’t have to be hypocritical and beep them out.
@Brother Fluffy:
Without wanting to try and represent Jim (or Destructoid or Niero), that isn’t him. Destructoid is more of a closed club than the average website, the writers wear their personalities on their sleeves (and that’s mostly why I’ve spent 3+ years there). They read what you say, and they respond. You can’t simply sign up, run your mouth, and then expect to get away with it.
Generally speaking, people come to Dtoid expecting the same sterile news and objective reviews that they get elsewhere, and that’s somewhat understandable. But once you get to know the site and the writers, you get the point. Dtoid isn’t nice and accessible and easy for you to understand, but then it was never meant to be.
In all honesty, it’s not 100% defensible. Dtoid has often done things to piss me off, and Jim has written some fucking stupid articles himself… sometimes I feel like I’m reading – and participating in – the videogame equiv of the Sun. And I hate the Sun. BUT THEN HE WILL WRITE A REVIEW OF EKANS AND ALL IS FORGIVEN. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Monster Energy.
Just to make a point on the effectiveness of reviews, I think the ones that are slightly biased maybe not be useful, but they can be hilarious. Take Zero Punctuation; I eagerly await each new review even knowing that he is probably going to rip the game to shreds regardless of the hype.
A true game reviewer never says: “That game is bad is sucks don’t even mind to play it” because if sush review influences alot of games of course it afects the game publishers. A true reviewer can give a low review to a game, and even if the reviewer didnt liked it you shoudl tell people to try because everyone is diferent gamer. Thats why i Love watching EBC and not IW.
Hey guys, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the discussion you had with Jim Sterling on this episode. In a day and age where it seems most gamers respond to criticism and differing opinions with flagrant slanders, disrespect, and overall hatred, it’s fantastic to listen to (and enjoy) a parley between gamers that sticks to the subject of interest, without anyone resorting to calling anyone else a name. My hat is off to all of you for proudly and maturely representing the gaming community. It’s also interesting to hear how the other side of the game review coin lives.
And let’s hear it for Arkham Asylum 2 people! C’mon, get your hands up and scream!
“Will you stop singing child!?”
Just wanted to agree with the reviews topic. Their a outlet for people to share opinions, nothing more. If somebody bases their decision to drop $60 for a game on 1 review, then I pity them. I use reviews to get an idea for a game I’m not sure about. And, if a game is extremely f ing awesome ( Mass Effect 2, Bioshock, Uncharted 2, Super Mario Galaxy), you’ll probably hear about before you watch a review. Great show as always. All hail EBA!
P.S. F**K YES!!! Okami (Amaterasu)in Marvel v Capcom 3!
Is it just me or do they censor jim saying bullshit and then DK says it (along with fuck) later without a censor
Finally caught up with Epic Battle Cry. Hope I don’t have to miss any more episodes any time soon. I need my EBC fix
Nah for some reason DK can say “fuck em” without censor and later Brent says something about nutfucking and the censor that out. Strange I must say or really sloppy editing
Best Comic book game ever has to be X-Men 2 – Clone wars for Genesis/Mega Drive, loved that game! It had a decent roster of characters, looked very good and truthful to their comic book counterparts and i loved the fact that has soon as you turned on the game you were immediately on the first stage and only after beating that stage you would get to the title screen and being able to select your character.
Also not really from a comic but definitely comic book related, Comix Zone was awesome, beautiful art-work, was pretty challenging and had a kick ass soundtrack.
Thanks for this nice article. I have enjoyed to reading this blog. I have share this information to my friend and family. your article is very wonderful
