Gaming's Most Epic Community. Cry Havoc and Let Your Voice Be Heard!

And speaking of that Gaming Podcast we promised... this is the Critical Mission

Hi everyone, just letting those who are interested in on a podcast me and a few of the others from this very site have started up and will continue to provide weekly content for. Whilst we don't consider this a 'community podcast' per say, I believe that the fine gentlemen and gentlewomen (?) of this fine website are the kinds of people we would like to interact with, however not exclusively (because the internet is a big place, and there are many cool people on it).

However, for what you might find in our little podcast, we intend to cast a critical eye on what is happening and trending within the games industry and the companies that shape that industry (for better or for worse). This includes a deeper look into many aspects of the industry: game design, the issues important to advancement of the interactive industry and other problems that are plaguing the industry and that we feel need to be addressed to improve the end user experience. The focus is not only providing an engaging discussion on the podcast itself but also opening up a platform for other critical thinking individuals to pass judgement and open up a meaningful discussion for fellow gamers to share their opinions pertaining to this industry that many of us hold so dearly to us.

With that being said, let me introduce our crew (Also don't worry, everyone is on the show in a rotational manner so you won't get too sick of any one person):

Ian Felix Dejean: Our honorary host, after working in the games industry over the last few years he can provide a bit of an insider and informed look at several issues pertaining to the interactive industry today (or so his intro says), also he does a pretty good Bastion guy impression from time to time which may prove entertaining at some point.

Roark Suter: From the frozen wasteland of Canada, our resident badass comes with a newly purchased gaming rig, so don't expect him to shut up about being part of the PC Gaming Master Race anytime soon.

Alister MacInnes: The man that never stops speaking, those poms do like to chatter on. Also an honorary PC Gaming Master Race member and tech aficionado. He also possess a squeaky chair which may or may not be the official mascot of the show.

Fredrik Pedersen: The laid back bloke from the far north; our resident santa claus at least in terms of his position in relation to the north pole, except his presents are opinions rather than anything valuable monetarily. From the land of Norway he comes, and adds a Sony angle to the show considering he's one of 7 in the world that owns a Vita.

Josh Schrier: Our resident Japanese gamer (even though he's American, which makes no sense), or at least gamer of all things Japanese. A likeable fellow who always has something interesting to say if we can get him away from playing LoL for 5 seconds.

Kevin Zepik: Another hailing from the land of ice and maple syrup is Kevin Zepik. A man who is one of the more diverse gamers in the group, not really subscribing to any one platform but rather dipping his fingers in all the pies. Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's how that expression goes.

And there is me, Mitchell Bennett, some dude from Australia they decided to wrangle in for whatever reason.

As you can see we aren't always serious, but to go serious here for a second we would like to take a bit of a deeper look behind this fantastic industry we all know and love and create an ecosystem of fruitful and meaningful discussion on where gaming has been and what it can become and how we believe that can be achieved, and we would appreciate it if you would join us in that process.

So I introduce you to the Critical Mission, here is some sexy social media links for you to stay up with the show and our content:

Nice.  Glad to see the The Axe Lords have greenlit this podcast.  I listened to it last week or so when you released it on twitter, and it was really great.  I think I might just listen to it again to further cement my opinions on it and will see what feedback I can give to make it even more awesomer.

I had a quick question though.  Could others join your podcast crew, like special guests or something, or even other members of EBA....*wink wink*  Anyways, I look forward to seeing how this journey goes.

^ what Amrit said.

Btw, you can live stream google hangouts (not only record it).

I second the idea to use g+ it seems like it could save a lot of trouble

Yeah! I could guest on the show. The Chuchu is great at guesting on things. As long as you like sick that is. Lots and lots of sick. On everything and everyone at anytime. Any takers? No? BOOOO!

Hello wielders of the axe,

Today I 'ave been mostly rememberin': Great Gaming Gaffs

Hello fellow Axeheads! As the great AVGN would say; "What a shitload of fuck!" I am, of course, referring to the Xbox One. Everyone has been frothing at the mouth and having seizures over the calamitous reveal.

Now... It's not really my place to jump on the wagon of despair. After all, I don't own an Xbox 360 and…

Dear Microsoft

Hi Microsoft its me, the little guy who's been buying your consoles for the last ten years. Just wanted to let you now how excited I was by your new console reveal. Sure I would have liked to see more games (maybe even one being played) but I get why you didn't go that route. The reveal was a focus on the system itself right and you wanted to keep it relevant to actual specs and functionality, like when you announced a Halo TV show. Things like that were why people tuned in and I'm sure its…
