hiya thumbs,

well, most sites heavy in media are going to have high CPU usage, especially if you use Firefox. Our main page is Javascript heavy (not flash) which makes it kinda sluggish we know... We definitely want our fans to have the best viewing experience possible, so we are going to make a pass next week in regards to some of the features to see where we may be able to make it more efficient. I'm not saying we can in the short term, but we are at least going to try. Thank you for your feedback as we continue to work through the growing pains of our own collective awesome-ness....

Peace,

EBAAXEMAN (Reuben)

No worries. Actually I use Opera which has the smallest JS footprint of all browsers. A lot of media sites are quite heavy memory wise - however EBA seems to rise continuously. If I had to guess, there's an infinite loop that isn't exiting for some reason.

If I leave EBA open for 20-30 minutes I can easily end up with a far too sluggish computer, considering my T8100 and 3 gigs of RAM.

These are the JS related errors I get, though as far as I'm concerned, a script doesn't load isn't what's causing the error (unless of course another script is attempting to load something from there and it isn't found and for some reason instead of throwing an error infinitely reattempts, this however wouldn't explain the ever increasing CPU usage. Below I'm going to list the errors. First up, Opera:

Code:
JavaScript - http://d1.openx.org/ajs.php?zoneid=48838&cb=64043640855&charset=utf-8&loc=http%3A//epicbattleaxe.com/

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://d1.openx.org/ajs.php?zoneid=97338&cb=59236723998&charset=utf-8&loc=http%3A//epicbattleaxe.com/

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://d1.openx.org/ajs.php?zoneid=48841&cb=89350363517&charset=utf-8&loc=http%3A//epicbattleaxe.com/

Linked script not loaded
JavaScript - http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js

Linked script not loaded
Secondly, from Fx:
Code:
Error: Permission denied for <http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net> to call method Location.toString on <http://epicbattleaxe.com>. {two times}

Security Error: Content at http://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/ may not load data from http://epicbattleaxe.com/. {four times}
Oh and this is just funny, considering it's a Mozilla only property:
Code:
Warning: Unknown property '-moz-opacity'. Declaration dropped.
Source File: http://epicbattleaxe.com/wp-content/themes/eba/style.css
Line: 541
This isn't really helpful in any way, but sheeet, I felt it needed to be posted.

The add scripts cause us some headaches sometimes - as long as it's not persistent, which is why i wanted to ask if this is still erroring out on you?

Thanks,

The ad script errors are gone. They may have just been there because until a few days ago, EBA wasn't yet whitelisted (though if ads become intrusive like at GT...)

Either way, I got a new error today.
Code:
JavaScript - http://epicbattleaxe.com/
Inline script compilation
Syntax error at line 1 while loading:
d+"-2837"+y+"taggly"+d+"-2854"+y+"tagza"
--------------------^
expected identifier, got '+'
Don't ask me, don't know the site's code, and I doubt that's what causing the ever increasing CPU usage, but for all I know it could be.

I stil get the ever climbing CPU usage. I visit YouTube, Berrics, GT, loads of media sites and none of them cause this high of a usage.

hey guys I was going to make a thread in the Sony forum about how much I've been getting my ass kicked in Demon's Souls but got this message:

LaughingMan9, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I know I had trouble logging in a few weeks back and went over the 5 screw-up limit so that might be the reason

Never seen a system like that on forums I frequent, that's really cool. Thanks for the info.

I am randomly getting a dialogue box pop-up in my browser asking me for a security authentication login, both on the main site and the forum.
I hit "cancel" and it goes away without any problems.
Anyone else getting that or have suggestions on it?

I have seen this a couple of times as well as Beema. It's odd because it's asking for a username and password but it's for epicbattleaxe.net . just like Beema stated once I click cancel it goes away without doing anything.

Yeah, I've gotten it as well. Same type of login box I get when accessing FTPs via Opera.

Hmm.. Yes, I am familiar with this particular 'bug' - I'll look on getting a fix for it this week.

Thanks for the heads up

Heej Eba admins,

I was looking at the EBA mainpage, and the pictures of the latest news/podcast/gaming matters/member battlecry that stand up top, seem to be gone...

I dont know what happened.

Hope it will be fixed soon,
With kind regards,
Tim
