Normally we don’t just post about an interview on another site…oh, wait…yes we do! This one is pretty interesting. Kotaku’s Stephen Totilo posted a five-minute interview with Valve’s founder and head honcho, Gabe Newell.

Mr. Newell had just won the Game Developers Choice Pioneer Award which is given out at GDC. According to the Game Developers Choice Awards website, the GDC Pioneer Award “celebrates those individuals responsible for developing a vital technology or game design at a crucial juncture in video game history, paving the way for the many who followed them.”

As we all know, Gabe Newell has done just that on more than one occasion. Whether it be the open source Counter-Strike or Steam, one of the earliest iterations of digital distribution, Valve and Mr. Newell have continued to innovate while keeping very close ties to the gaming community – and you know how we here at EBA love those who love the gaming community.

Although this interview with Mr. Newell is short, it is extremely interesting. He discusses the future of gaming, including hardware progression and biometrics. That’s right, I said biometrics!
