Just the mere mention of “GoldenEye” and most gamers over the age of 20 will start to get all giddy inside as they conjure up fond memories of mega multiplayer and the “AMAZINGLY LIFELIKE” characters from the classic Nintendo 64 shooter. So, now that the game is being re-invented, Executive Producer Julian Widdows uses his fancy accent with supreme effectiveness in this video to describe how uber-awesome the update will be while chatting up the enhancements and new content we can expect.
The vid is pretty interesting and reminds me of why I loved this game so much back in the day, but what I wanna know is how interested are YOU in going Golden once again??? Can the remake live up to the original? What are you hoping they refine? What are you hoping the leave the hell alone? Be sure to sound off and let us know what you’re thinkin’!!!
GoldenEye 007 makes its grand return to the Wii this November.

From a friend who still plays Goldeneye to this day:
“The only disconcerting aspect of a remake of possibly one of the greatest games ever made is the fact that it’s on the Wii. FPS games just don’t work well with the Wiimote and I fear it’s going to kill the gameplay.”
man, so many memories come back to my head…. BIG SIGHT
i just hope it lives up to the what that game made
The thing is, is not that the Wii is “showing its age”, but the hardware is showing its clear lack of capability in regards to “modern FPS design and style”. The Wii just can’t go the “realistic” style because it shows its real face, and old piece of hardware.
The Wii is great with certain styles, like cell-shading, and…nevermind, just with cell shading, being it with black and white or color palette.
Cheers axe heads.
The original was fantastic. I hope that they do this right, and that they don’t smudge the GoldenEye name. Yes the graphics aren’t state-of-the-art, but I think Nintendo realizes this, and instead will focus on making the gameplay, and multi-player great. The Wii is showing its limits for realistic looking games; but that doesn’t mean they’ll be bad. I say ” At least try it. So what if the graphics aren’t great.”
Long live EBA!
Nothing personal, Fearthejerk but…
…that kind of mentality is the one that let’s companies like Nintendo, get away with selling us Shiny mirrors in exchange for gold bullions.
I’m not saying Goldeneye can’t be a good game but it doesn’t make any favors to the industry, just stales it.
Cheers axeheads.
Your friend must not know much about the new game.
It will use the Classic Controller if he so chooses to use that option…I on the other hand loved the original Goldeneye(it was in my N64 just last night), and I actually prefer the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls in FPS games.
