I'm considering getting Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. It looks fun, but I hear (from reviews) that it's very hard. I'm concerned that it might be too hard. I don't want to be frustrated, I…Continue

PS4 or Xbox One? Neither... I'll take a Wii U

This holiday season the big question for gamers is, PS4 or Xbox One? For me the answer was PS4. Then the two games I planned to pickup this year for PS4 got pushed to 2014, Infamous Second Son and…Continue

@LordX Both are good choices, but I went with getting New Super Mario Brothers U. Pikmin 3 is more RTS, and that doesn't interest me. If you haven't played a 2D Mario in a while, and do not want to wait for Mario Maker, its a good choice. If you want an RTS, go with Pikmin 3.

Going to be picking up Mario Kart 8 in the next day or two. What free game should I get between New Super Mario Brothers U and Pikimin 3? (I got Wind Waker with my system and have no interest in Wii Party U)

If you have a Wii U Deluxe model don't forget that you are entered into the Deluxe Digital Promotion. It accumulates points from digital purchases in order to give you $5  credit per 500 point milestones. Spend $1 you get 10 pts spend $59.99  and you get 599 pts.

I had forgotten about it and found I had $35 bucks worth of credit stored up. It ends December 2014 and you have until March 2015 to redeem all your credit.

Abel2Disable Sorry for such a late reply  on Rayman Legends. If it's solo play only your good on either the Vita or WiiU versions. They both integrate the touch functionality that is lacking on the other consoles. The content is the same single player wise, the only difference is having one at home the other on the go.

If you see yourself playing MP the WiiU version is the one to get. As it was the primary console the game was built for it takes the best advantage of the touch/dual screen functions.

Just bought "the family" a Wii U and so far it's been a big hit with the wife and kid. So far only have NintendoLand and Wind Waker as far as games go, but my favorite thing so far has been that adorable "Wii -> Wii U transfer" animation. Watching that made me want to give somebody a hug.

I'm thinking of getting Rayman Legends on the Wii U. I'd be playing it mostly single player. Anyone with the game have opinions on how it plays on Wii U? My other option is getting it on the Vita.

Thursday Throwdown: Let's talk Twitch and life just before marriage...

White America, on the cusp of thirty, something happens... You're about to get married, and you find yourself in the grocery store with a cart full of salt for your water softener, a 20 pound bag of dog food, and a bottle of liquid plumber while you peruse through the romance novels in the book section next to the gift cards. Is there a reason you're buying the latest Susan Wiggs novel? Well yeah, your nana's ninety-third birthday was this past Tuesday, but you've been…

What We’re Watching:…

How many hours of gaming do I have left?

So I thought it would be a good idea to do the math on how many hours of spare time I have left before I throw in the towel for good. With a sizable backlog, psplus throwing close to half a dozen games at me each month, new games coming out, two kids, some physical activity (rock climbing) and trying to get to a competent level of playing guitar, bass, piano and drums, its time for a reality check. Unsurprisingly, the math is not in my favor.

In the last few years, I have not had…
