Today EA announced a Limited Edition version of Medal of Honor that will grant players exclusive access to the MP7, a unique weapon utilized by Tier 1 Operators in the field. Limited Edition owners will also benefit from day-one access to the TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotguns, while others must rank up to secure these weapon unlocks. Fair? Not fair? Let us know what you think below. If you’re interested in pre-ordering the Limited Edition though, you can do so now via the game’s official site at no additional cost.
“Access to a weapon like the MP7 will allow players to experience a tool developed with the Special Operations Community in mind, “said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor. “With its light weight, high rate of fire and its ability to penetrate body armor, the MP7 handles like a pistol yet allows targets to be engaged like a rifle.”
The Limited Edition of Medal of Honor launches on October 12, 2010 in North America (Oct. 15 in EU) for the PS3, 360, and PC. Limited Edition or not, who plans on picking it up?

I don’t really have a problem with players getting some guns early than others. In these type of FPS games, the guns are pretty well balanced. In Modern Warfare 2, the FAMAS on of the best guns in the game and you get it a level one, and the scar which you unlock at level ten is much better than the AK-47 that you get at level 70. People getting these weapons early wont make them unstoppable.
Buuuuut, when you say the MP7 is exclusive in that you can only use the gun if you preorder the game, that I do have a problem with. Why should people be excluded from in game content just because they didn’t preorder the game. Companies do this shit because they want to guarantee that they sell copies of their games… another way to guarantee game sales is to MAKE A BETTER GAME
Considering the game feels just like a BC2 mod… i’m gonna assume that those “pre order bonuses” are just the same as the BC2 ones. Meaning: Preordering gives you an advantage of like 1 hours in playtime until everybody else got the gun…
Considering that you most likely still gonna end up having to “grind” the XP for the stuff even tho you allready have it you won’t even save any time.
So that pre-order bonus goes along the line of: Meh… who cares?
Yeah I pre-ordered BC2-LE thinking that the M1911 and Tommy were exclusive and the upgrades were temporary exclusives. I was wrong. Only the Garand was an exclusive weapon and only to BF vets, which I was. So in all the LE was not worth it at all.
i dont mind if…
-weapon will be available to unlock somewhere in the game even if you dont pre-order
-weapon like that will not be overpower or give you advantage in anyway
-if the price of the that limited edition will be close to original price.. coz if its more then 10$ that means they are just want to milk you with more money
I bought the Limited Edition for Bad Company 2, with the same extra features. It’s pretty cool, especially ’cause it had no extra costs.
I guess I’m gonna pre-order it. It’ll be my birthday present to myself. The game is gonna release in the week I’m turning 18. And the game looks still really interesting. So.. Yeah. Extra stuff is a plus
BUT two problems. One, where is the love for Netherlands? We had no bèta codes for pre-ordering in my country. So, uhm, are we getting a limited edition, or are we not?
And problem two. The PS3 version was already getting some special edition with a revamped Medal of Honor Frontlines. How about of you want both? The extra guns + Medal of Honor Frontlines? Or is that a no go?
Hmm, we’ll see what happens.
That inside Xbox video that previews MoH seems like a huge slap in the face to all of us that pre-ordered to the beta.
I don’t know how much you paid for the LE version of BFBC2 but it had the same price as the normal edition here in sweden and I like when they put out limited editions which get you things before others but still everyone can get it. =)
And yes they shoud put the LE edition at the same price as the Normal edition.
