It’s not much of a surprise, but just a few days before the highly-anticipated launch of Modern Warfare 2, Activision has confirmed that yet another Call of Duty title will be headed our way in 2010. Speaking to analysts via conference call, Activision Publishing president Mike Griffith stated that, “In [calendar year] 2010, Activision Publishing is expected to release strong, innovative new titles,” and that “The diversified lineup will include titles based on the best selling franchises including Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, Shrek, [and] Spider-Man.”
Again, not really a surprise that Activision is answering the call when it comes to milking key franchises, but the exact setting and details on the next Call of Duty are still up in the air despite some online rumors suggesting that the Cold War would serve as the backdrop for the next installment. Honestly though, it could be a freakin’ MMO for all we know…
Of course, we’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.

This will be a treyarch one, tehy should find themselves a new war, maybe vietnam, or Korea or something more recent than WWII.
They could set it on ‘nam and let you napalm forest from your helicopter, it would be morally dubious, but cool nonetheless.
We’ll see if they dig themselves into a deeper hole with this one or redeem themselves, chances of the latter is low-moderate
if it’s treyarch again (which it almost certainly will be), they can keep it. world at war was the last steaming turd i’ll buy off those clowns.
without IW nobody would know who treyarch are
All I want is more Nazi Zombies!!! That’s the only reason I’m excited about Treyarch (presumably) making this one.
Comment about how Treyarch ( a company oblivious to me) sucks at making games because they are set in World War II and it’s obvious games can only be good if they have red dot sights and n00b tubes.
It’s call of duty’s duty to answer it’s calling as Activision’s cash cow.
For me, World at War wasn’t bad because of its’ setting. I loved the idea. Treyarch just doesn’t seem to be able to capture the Call of Duty formula properly. I can’t even really explain it beyond that, but they just haven’t been as *fun*. I still love WW2 shooters, so the setting has nothing to do with it. Maybe it’s the difficulty (Treyarch games seem to be the more difficult ones, at least for me), maybe it’s the level design, I don’t know.
Yeah, Treyarch sucks for reasons that are elusive, but no less concrete for their nebulous nature. World at War was just blah; even the multiplayer, which was essentially a copy of COD4′s brilliant MP, failed to entertain.
That said, Nazi Zombies is fuckin awesome. They should sell that alone as DLC.
hey thanks for this post. you have a nice blog here.
