Sure, I know it’s CG and I know that the game can end up being NOTHING like what this new trailer portrays, but the gamer inside of me is keeping my fingers firmly crossed that Deus Ex: Human Revolution can deliver on the sense of atmosphere, story, and immersion I feel from viewing this memorable piece of media.
Check it out right here and then chime in below with your thoughts.

If the game is as good a game as this trailer is a trailer, the gaming world is in for a treat.
What is a trailer supposed to do?
Make people want to play the game after seeing the trailer? Or just be an epic showreel? Well, this one did both. And more.
Bumped this thing from ‘kinda interested’ to ‘top of the pile’… and considering the pile is called 2010, wow
So that’s what you get when you mix Blade Runner with the Matrix and frame it around a Prototype/Mass Effect game engine.
Hey, I liked previous forays into this world, let’s hope it lives up to the grandiose hype in this trailer.
Coming to a theater near me?
I was big time godsmacked by this trailer. It was beautifull, sad, incredible etc. at the same time. This is not overdoing SWTOR’s trailer but in a different way it came very close.
Looks awesome
Great trailer
and just about week ago i wrote on EBC a comment when you asked what game you are waiting the most to see on E3 and i just wrote that it would be nice to see finally something from Eidos Montreal Deus Ex 3. hehe and here it is, fucking best ever trailer i have seen untill now. I got such a great Blade Runner/Ghost in the Shell mixed vibe from it. Cyberpunk ftw. Now i just hope gameplay will be as good as it was in the first game. Don ‘t screw this up Eidos, no more Invisible wars bullshit, please.
Awesome trailer. I love the graphics!
wow, hype lvl zero to through the roof in 3:18! that’s an amazing trailer.
Ghost In The Shell story with Jax from Mortal Combat. That’s kind of cool.
good fucking lord that was incredible! never played a Deus Ex game(sorry) but on the strength of that trailer it’s one i’m waiting for with baited breasts.
Hot damn that was good. This is exactly what I expected to see… from Metal Gear Solid Rising.
Easily one of the best trailers I’ve seen in a long, long time. Hopefully the next trailer demonstrates its gameplay.
OH. MY. GOD. I haven’t seen anything like that since the MGS4 trailers. Square Enix better find a away to make this game live up to this kind of hype or else it will crash and burn.
IE: Duke Nukem Forever. Big waste of our time.
In addition to this, pray to whatever god you must to make it NOT LIKE RESIDENT EVIL series. RPG into a action game. Although, I will admit the game was fun, it lacked the little small features it was famous for (horror aspect gone for action horror, upgradable uber powered weapons, and 9 slot item boxes instead of the briefcase of doom and organization).
We can only wait until the gameplay footage is released either at E3 or some other event….
FIRST OFF (a hand for Square) but when have we ever seen a square CG trailer an not been totally amazed thats what they do, an very well may i add, but as an old Deus Ex fan, im not sure how close to the original games this one will stick to, fps? rpg? 3rd person shooter?
who knows but aslong as its innovating but still keeping to pedigree i think this one just might be something to definitely watchout 4
I figured it out. This trailer has a big Blade Runner vibe about it. Towering cities, not knowing what side your on, human and technology combined, corporations that try to rule the world (well that part isnt actually in Blade Runner) and a protagonist that looks, well, sad in a way, but the opposite of the character that Rutger Hauer played in the movie.

Sorry, friend, but visuals aren’t everything. The original Deus Ex has pretty rough visuals, even for its time, yet it’s still considered one of the greatest games of all time. It certainly is my all-time favorite.
Considering DX3 is running on the Tomb Raider: Underworld engine, those screens actually look pretty good. Regardless, good game design trumps pretty graphics any day. Even if DX3 looks as ugly as the original, I’ll still be all over it, if it provides nonlinear approaches to objectives, seamless RPG/stealth/first person action, and engaging social interactions with NPCs.
Take a look at every shiny FPS that’s been released in the last five years. They’ve all been on rails. You go from set piece to set piece, mechanically shooting everything in sight. Boring.
I’d much rather have open level design with options, regarding how I want to approach an objective, over eye candy. Do I want to stealthily kill those two guards? Maybe hack that terminal and avoid them all together? Maybe I’ll just shotgun them both and deal with the consequences? Perhaps I could bribe that bum over there to create a distraction?
Here’s hoping Eidos Montreal understands that it’s choices like these which made DX the highly respected game it is today. The amazing trailer has already captured my imagination and has made me hopeful that we’ll see a better game than Invisible War. Dare I say it… I’m actually excited about a new DX!
