The team behind The Witcher has sent word that the 1.5 patch download will be released on July 8th. The patch focuses mainly on removing troublesome DRM, allowing you to play the game without the disc, while also delivering new adventures created by the fan community. The update will also be included in forthcoming The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut; which developer CD Projekt will apparently be speaking more about shortly (according to teh email they sent us anyway…).
Patch 1.5 features:
Modifications:
- copy securities (DRM) are removed
- playing the game no longer requires the game disc in the drive
- patch solves problems with EAX and blurred graphics
Additionally:
- 5 bonus adventures made by the Witcher community: ‘Deceits’, ‘Blight of the Bogs’, ‘Wraiths of the Quiet Hamlet’, ‘Wedding’, ‘Merry Witchmas’.
Now, about Rise of the White Wolf….

Yes about Rise of the White Wolf. I find it strange to announce these updates without commenting on the possibility of it’s console alter ego being released or not. I don’t usually go in for RPG adventures that are based around a lone character (Oblivion, Fallout) but I always thought Withcher looked awesome.
The only reason i’m not getting the PC version is because i’m waiting to see if the enhanced console version will ever see the light of day. If not tell me and i will probably get the PC version….. it’s just common sense isn’t it?
