I, too, was excited to see the downloadable games on this list. There really were some great ones!!

Great list, interesting observation, and a good experience to look at the market this way. I love how many of these great games have been smaller downloadable titles. Some might have called them ‘casual games’ but I’d whole-heartedly disagree.

I put 12 hours into Shadow Complex in a few days, I beat games like Uncharted, Killzone 2, Mirrors Edge, etc, in less than 10. There’s something to be said for quality entertainment via a medium utilizing lesser technical standards. I don’t mind the look of Lost Winds, Shadow Complex, or Trine. Those “lesser” graphics afforded me a much cheaper product, and in the end a bigger bang for my buck.

It’s pretty incredible that these all came out in one year, isn’t it?
