Easter greetings!

I'm visiting my parents over Easter, and I come across a few old computer magazines I bought as a youngin. As I read, memories wash over me.I remember alienation and loneliness, and not in a literal sense. I was never bullied or pushed aside. What I mean is being into something no one else seemed to appreciate.I bought these magazines and had no one to talk about it to.I never owned a video-game console, but I had friends who did. So I spent time at their place and had to persuade them to play…See More

Black Mesa out?!

Posted on February 13, 2013 at 2:36pm 0 Comments

One of the most anticipated games for me has been the "Black Mesa"-project, where a group of enthusiasts remakes the original Half Life in the Source-engine.

I kind of expected it to come out with a big bang, but I just found out via steams greenlight it's actually available for download.

After a bit of downloading (~4 Gb) I started it up.

Let me tell you, so far I'm super impressed. I had forgotten how much that game meant for me. There are some glitches and so on, but…

Duke kills Rage!

Posted on February 12, 2013 at 7:00pm 6 Comments

I just finished playing Rage on the PC. It got pretty good scores on most big sites. I thought it was horribly unfinished and claustrophobic.

Invisible walls everywhere.

Glitchy car controls (hate those "rocket rallies")

Bullet sponge enemies.

Recycled maps (really? The same stages twice?)

Some obviously scrapped ideas due to lack of development time

(Theres a casino! I want to use it)

Anti-climactic ending!

After playing that I started up Duke… Continue

Hands on from San Diego Comic-Con 2014 Part 2

I kid you not, that monstrosity pictured above opens up and you get into a bucket seat before it closes to commence the Alien Isolation demo. It's easily 10 feet tall and most of it is shell so you can imagine how cramped it is on the inside. Uh......yeah, marketing? Again, before I…

Hands on from San Diego Comic-Con 2014

It's a truly odd year at the SDCC game wise(hence the non-gaming pic that was more exciting in all honesty). It truly is a vanilla year for games as bizarre choices and just an average effort of marketing is on display. From the recycled demo of Bayonetta 2 from the previous year to the complete absence…

Got a question for the EpicBattleCry crew?…
