First impression - Thief

Posted on February 28, 2014 at 11:01am 0 Comments

Ive started Thief and im playing it on Master Thief difficulty. The most difficult one without going into custom settings. So far im enjoying the thiefery but its lacking a soul.

Im trying to play the way i think it should be played, without being seen and without taking anyone out unless it is absolutely needed, which should be never. Im also trying to find and get every single piece of loot there is. In this difficulty it proves to be a challenge to get all the loot. Risk versus… Continue

Titanfall Beta - First impressions

Posted on February 14, 2014 at 12:59pm 11 Comments

So, the beta on pc.. i played it.

Here's my thoughts so far.

The gameplay is engaging fast pass action both as Pilot and as Titan. The wall running and jetpack jumping all feels natural and intuitive but you still need to know your way around the map to make full use of the ability to climb and jump wherever you want. The first few hours you will jump to places and fall back down again. Obviously, the more time you spend playing the game, the better you get at it. The parcour…

Mission possible

If there's anything you'd want to teach another gamer, what would it be?

For me its letting my friends know that there is more to experience beyond just one game, one franchise or one genre. I often find myself trying to get them out of their comfort zone and have them try new things. Gaming can be so much more then just playing Call of Duty day in day out. Most of my friends are all FPS gamers. They do nothing but play COD all year every year. Some of them play Battlefield or…

everyone is a winner

Posted on January 15, 2013 at 11:00am 7 Comments

For my birthday i received black ops 2 from my family. I did not buy it because with each call of duty i enjoyed it less and less. My friends all still play it so i installed it to grab a game with them every now and then. Right now ive leveled up to rank 53. Which gave me enough of gametime to pass judgement on it.

Before i continue i must say that ive been playing first person shooters for about 20 years now and ive played everything from wolfensten 3d, doom and unreal tournament… Continue

The Axe Factor Poll!

Do YOU think console makers should keep it simple?
Yes, I need a controller, graphic horsepower, and an 'on' button...that's it 0%
Its not realistic to think mainstream consumers will buy a device that only does one thing0%
I actually like all the entertainment options and hope they can be balanced with gaming0%
Keeping it simple is fine, but if everyone does that then no one stands out; console makers half to also stand apart0%

EpicBattleAxe - What Can Gran Turismo Academy Teach Us About Game Training? [PLUS WEEKLY WRAP UP]

Buckle up for this fast and furious Friday edition of EBC as we put a question from Duncan Ray (@DuncanRay47) in the driver's seat to find out if games can become training simulators for other professions like they have for race car drivers via Gran Turismo Academy.…

So let me get this straight.. (Last of Us Remastered Rant)

A game comes out with a game of the year edition (same base game, all dlc) for $60 a year later, everyone eats it up. Last of Us Remastered comes out on a DIFFERENT console, better graphics, extra features and all the DLC for cheaper than the original base game was and every one calls bull$hit and practically wants it for free? GOTY editions require almost no additional development. Just put all of the existing content in to one package and that's it. Last of Us:Remastered was actually…

Living with Tinnitus, the (not so) silent killer

This is a hard article to write. Not necessarily to express what I want to say, but because no matter how one writes an article of this nature it's nigh-on impossible to avoid sounding like a crusade, or a victim-piece or some form of self-indulgence. I can only implore you to read on in trust that I'm writing this article with no other intent than to help ensure that you never develop this condition. It has the power to terrify and debilitate you and it may be more likely to occur than you…

EpicBattleCry - Can "Free-to-Play" Games Really Be Called Free?

Recent events pertaining to the free-to-play model on mobile have sparked debates about the state of the genre and what's a truly fair description of the experience. Nico Viegas P. (@MonkeyBot9k) is curious about our take on the situation and we do our best to answer by offering up some truly free insight.

PSN Plus Instant Game Collection (May to July 2014)

Back again to give my impressions of games that I have played (and many I failed to complete) thanks to the PSN plus instant library.

Stealth Inc.: A Clone in The Dark

The first on a long list of games that I failed to complete. I enjoyed the puzzles, it was well polished for an indie title and it is a perfect fit for mobile gaming. I played it in bite size amounts and ended up logging three or four hours into it. If I had more of an opportunity to…

So what do you think about Playstation Now?

What I don't get is the pricing structure. 3 dollars for 4 hours of game is absurd. 15 dollars for 90 days of one old game, that you can pretty much buy at that price is also nonsense. How can Sony…Continue
