Brent and Tony Spend an Evening with the OUYA

So my OUYA is finally here. I thought it might be cool to do an unboxing vid for those that enjoy that sort of thing so I invited Tony over Saturday to give me a hand. We ended up filming the whole evening so this vid is extremely long but we thought it might be interesting to present our first experience (in nearly real time) with a brand new game console. Not something you can do every week of the year.See More

EpicBattleCry - E3 2013 Special

Posted on June 13, 2013 at 2:29am 34 Comments

Step one: its EpicBattleCry! E3 2013 has played host to exciting game news, dramatic moments, and, some would claim, out-and-out homicide. From EA dropping the AT-AT foot to Jack Tretton dropping the mic, this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo will certainly go down as one of the most memorable. With DK still on full-time looking-good-in-LA duty, Brent and Tony sat down to discuss Nintendo's showing at this year's show, the fallout (good and bad) from Sony and…

NOTE: There was a problem with the audio quality on my recording and, while I've done all I can to minimize the effect, you're going to hear a buzzing sound while I'm speaking. Just…

Thanks.

I could put up a guide on how I did it, but maybe you want to work out a bit of css-code to be used on your side of things, so users only need to copy-paste some HTML and put their names in.

Let me know, I don't mind preparing the code for you. Busy in web-development lately anyways. Punishing myself with ASP.net atm, so a bit of html/css is very welcome and easy by comparison :P

Thanks for the add Brent! I'm a long time listener of the show and just recently created at profile on the new site. The last axefactor enticed me to get more active with the community here so congrats! You and Lorin talked me into it haha

PLEASE don't let Lorin trick you into overpaying for games. Borderlands 2 is $36 at GreenmanGaming, among other deals here at my favorite site!!

I joked with Lorin that if he could convince you to play Borderlands, he might be able to get you play Battlefield too lol. And being left behind by your friends in a game, I know that feel brother :,(

You should take the Pop filter off your Mic. I think it would add a cool Vader effect to the show. Just really mucusy

Thanks Brent.  Yeah, I'm just trying to make my page look as awesome as possible.  As you can tell, it's a Red Dead Redemption theme.  Still ironing out the details.

If you had doubts about Resident Evil 6, may I point out that Jake's campaign has a mini-boss with a chainsaw that:
- is powered by his heart
- has his ribs as an arm guard
- has his spine restructured to form the CHAIN.

The Axe Factor Poll!

How much does the Xbox One-Nvidia "scandal" bother YOU?
A lot. This is one step removed from the Killzone 2 pre-rendered E3 trailer0%
I don't care as long as the games look this good running on Xbox One hardware (which they probably will)0%
Not at all, people are being naive to think this practice doesn't happen all the time0%
I'll reserve judgement until we see if the games look noticeably different on Xbox One hardware0%

Today I 'ave been mostly rememberin': Metroid Games

As I am typing this, we're deep inside the annual summer gaming drought of 2013. The last interesting current gen game I played was Bioshock Infinite. I'm now waiting patiently for The Last of Us to drop through the mail slot. In the interim, I have amused myself by going back and playing a whole bunch of the old Metroid titles. And I've had an absolute blast doing so. It's been one of the most nostalgic and satisfying gaming periods of my entire life. I replayed and finished all five of the…

What is your greatest wish/expection for the new generation?

After some discussion with the axeheads I asked myself what I want out of the next generation of gaming. And my answer is suprising. |It is neither better grafics or better AI. It does not even have to do with hardware.

What I want from the next generation the most is the introduction of used game sales for digital games. As soon as one of the major platforms does that I will go all digital, never looking back.

So, what would you like to see?

Nintendo Says: If devs are worried about used game sales, they should make better games

This bold statement was made by Nintendo and features on the Polygon site.

nintendo-if-youre-worried-about-used-game-sales-make-better-games

Personly i do, considering that most of the games made today and which are gonna be made for the Next-Generation of konsoles will be like before.
