Axehead Assembly #27: Sliding down Luigi's pole

Prepare to roll yourself in flour and jump into the fray because the Axehead Assembly has returned to batter your ears!

On this episode we talk in depth about the games we played in the winter break, take a look at Raminder Singh's EBA community game of the year forum thread and talk about the rise of digital content, micro transactions and DLC in the previous generation.

Amidst this episode's debris you'll discover some noodling over The Last of Us, Civilization V, Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles, Gravity Rush, Super Mario 3D World, Disney Universe, Infamous Second Son, Minecraft & Battlefield 4. Add into that a dash of Alien Isolation and you have a deathstar avoiding, snuff movie making, neck-tie monkey punching podcast on your hands!

All that and a lot more can be enjoyed right here:

Thank you, guys. I think the whole AA team are feeling very happy indeed. Ironically, though, I think we were all suffering from a bit of ring rust this week after coming back from a month off. I'm sure we'll be fighting fit by next episode, though.

I've got to admit that this was my first time listening to your podcast (with it being featured and all), but you guys seem to be doing a really great job.

That's some smart commentary right there and quite entertaining, I might add. Keep up the great work!

NBA2K15 Review

The NBA2K series has been one of the most dominant franchises in gaming. While some sports franchises rely on exclusivity deals to corner the market, NBA2K was able to do it the old fashioned way: make a far superior product to your competitor, and force them to close shop. This dominance allowed NBA2K to end the last console generation as the unchallenged king of basketball video games. 2K began the new console generation with another solid entry in the series. While NBA2K14 for the PS4 and…
