Just a minor thing, but could you put a sequential number in the Blog post? Like "Axehead Assembly 8: A look back at the current generation" It's awesome that you have the number in the file on mediafire! It helps a lot if I miss an episode :)

A few ideas for future episodes since you are asking :)

-You could pick a game genre and talk just about that. Everyones favourite games ever in that genre, how it's changed over the years, where you would like to see it go etc etc.

-Games you are most looking  forward too in the second half of the year. There was a discussion here on eba, cant remember who to credit for it :)

-Are there too many violent games? I'm not talking about games being too violent. But just too many games being 1st/3rd person shooters. I personally want more trippleA games like Portal/Journey. Also you could discuss 3rd person adventure games getting progressively more violent (thinking about the uncharted series and the last tomb raider, also the mass effect series). Strong writing and puzzles giving way to more gunplay. I somehow thing the transition from 2d to 3d had something to do with it :)

Sorry for the long post...

@Chuchu: Too bad you missed the episode since Amrit wasn't able to join us. Maybe next time ;)

Thanks for the feedback Doc, You do bring up some really good topics that we could discuss on the show, specially now that we're in the middle of a dry gaming summer.. Hopefully you'll be able to join us soon, cus I know we would all like that.

The Axe Factor Poll!

What do YOU think the game industry should do to address social injustice?
Nothing, everyone should make the games they want to and include whatever they like0%
Provide players a choice with regard to gender/ethnicity/sexuality0%
At every stage of the process, simply ask "Are we being exclusionary?"0%

Gamer or QA tester? Early Access (long)

On the 16th of May 2007 the Halo 3 public Multiplayer Beta saw release for members of Microsoft's Xbox Live Subscription service. It contained 3 maps, a handful of game modes to play as well as a selection of the new weapons added in the sequel. Ostensibly the build was disseminated to test the matchmaking system, network loads and game balance but the use of an outdated iteration or 'Build', the heavy marketing and it's bundling with another…
