We seem to have quite a few axeheads playing DayZ. There's a great way for us all to meet up and find each other in the harsh landscape of Chernarus.

1) Go to www.izurvive.com

2) Create a username

3) Join the group "Axeheads" and enter the secret word "whatshesaid"

You can now place a marker anywhere on the map. This will be extremely useful on the fly, but it would also be great if we could get in the habit of marking of our position before logging off for the day, which could spark spontaneous adventures. For instance:

Uncle Dude - "Say, Derto, my good man, I noticed you last logged out near the Northwest Airfield. So did I. Wanna join me in a race towards certain death and possible humiliating taunts?"

Derto - "You know, I was settled in for a nice, relaxing evening, but now that you mention it, extreme anxiety and dread, followed by the whip-crack of 7.62mm rounds penetrating my skull does have quite an appeal! I'm in, good sir!"

*The above scenario is for dramatic effect only. I assure you there is no violence in the game; only hippies who blow bubbles at you and offer you homemade brownies.

Arthur-itis? Cool. I saw your name next to mine and freaked out a bit. ;)

I'm the same name on Steam, if you want add me. We've all been playing quite a bit.

Ok, I'll add you Uncle Dude, my steam name is bassman559 not Arthur-itis, I'll change it on the app, I use Arthur-itis on the other Day Z mods. I 'm pretty well kitted out but could do with a tin opener. Getting really bored of eating sardines and tuna :-D

Identifying with games and game characters

This is actually just a copy-paste of my most recent comment on this weeks Axe Factor. I've long intended this as a blog post, which is why it appears here as well.

I haven't heard the podcast yet, but I felt like writing a response to the question to this weeks poll, "Have you ever had a "That's Me!" experience with a video game character?"

The answer is yes. One of the most powerful gaming experiences for me the last couple of years have been To The…

To all Axeheads: Send in your audio-farewells for EBC

UPDATE: Since we ran into technical difficulties while recording one segment of the Axehead Assembly, we have to schedule a re-recording and thus the deadline for sending in your audio files is extended to Friday.

Hey everyone.

For our 50th episode, the crew of the Axehead Assembly wanted to do something special.

In regards to the termination of EBC we thought it might be a nice idea, to let all the Axeheads who are interested in recording a little goodbye/thank…
