We seem to have quite a few axeheads playing DayZ. There's a great way for us all to meet up and find each other in the harsh landscape of Chernarus.

1) Go to www.izurvive.com

2) Create a username

3) Join the group "Axeheads" and enter the secret word "whatshesaid"

You can now place a marker anywhere on the map. This will be extremely useful on the fly, but it would also be great if we could get in the habit of marking of our position before logging off for the day, which could spark spontaneous adventures. For instance:

Uncle Dude - "Say, Derto, my good man, I noticed you last logged out near the Northwest Airfield. So did I. Wanna join me in a race towards certain death and possible humiliating taunts?"

Derto - "You know, I was settled in for a nice, relaxing evening, but now that you mention it, extreme anxiety and dread, followed by the whip-crack of 7.62mm rounds penetrating my skull does have quite an appeal! I'm in, good sir!"

*The above scenario is for dramatic effect only. I assure you there is no violence in the game; only hippies who blow bubbles at you and offer you homemade brownies.

Arthur-itis? Cool. I saw your name next to mine and freaked out a bit. ;)

I'm the same name on Steam, if you want add me. We've all been playing quite a bit.

Ok, I'll add you Uncle Dude, my steam name is bassman559 not Arthur-itis, I'll change it on the app, I use Arthur-itis on the other Day Z mods. I 'm pretty well kitted out but could do with a tin opener. Getting really bored of eating sardines and tuna :-D

No Axe Factor This Week

Hello all - while there is much to talk about from Gamescom (more than E3, methinks), you will have to wait a week to get the skinny.   Our Viking Lord Adams has taken ill and will not be available for musing this evening. We are always sad when we can not raise a glass with you...but we will be back…

EpicBattleCry - The Rhythm Is Gonna Getcha! (Or is it…?) [PLUS SKIRMISH 244]

While the rhythm game craze has already lost its pulse, Axe Head I.S. Neko (@IS_Neko) wants to know if a revival is plausible. We sync up for a not-so-sophisticated discussion on the subject during this Friday edition of EBC!

Thursday Throwdown: The State of the Gaming Industry Today.

EDIT: As I'm sure was probably evident to most everyone that actually took the time to read this rant, I was a bit sauced, or three-sheets, if you will. After working myself up into a drunken nerd rage it became apparent (to my inebriated mind) that I needed to share my thoughts with the world... EBC's slogan of “Cry havoc and let your voice be heard!” was a call to arms I couldn't ignore. That being said, after reading this sober, I've gone back and made a few…

EpicBattleCry - Can Great Stories Be Married To Open World Gameplay?

Many gamers love a great story while others appreciate creating their own in an open-world environment. Question is, can you have your cake and eat it too? Bengt-Robert Leine (@BengteLeine) asks about marrying story and open ended gameplay on today's EBC.

Gaming on the master race

This isn't a thread about PC being better than consoles. It is already a fact, just as a higher frame rate is better than a so called filmic 24 or 30 fps experience. But enough of that, there is…Continue
