Games in education was mentioned in the round up and was also a topic on the axe factor a few months ago, so I am not going to get into it here other than to say that there is huge potential for games and game like tools to be used in all aspects of education.

I was a developer for military simulators a few years ago and suffice to say there is a huge market for simulated training of soldiring skills. It is way cheaper to train procedures on simulators then using live equipment, especially troubleshooting procedures and basic scenarios.

These things are not games per se and are not commercial products, but there are big markets outside games as entertainment in the business sphere.

Identifying with games and game characters

This is actually just a copy-paste of my most recent comment on this weeks Axe Factor. I've long intended this as a blog post, which is why it appears here as well.

I haven't heard the podcast yet, but I felt like writing a response to the question to this weeks poll, "Have you ever had a "That's Me!" experience with a video game character?"

The answer is yes. One of the most powerful gaming experiences for me the last couple of years have been To The…
