EpicBattleCry - Evaluating EA's Access Program

We kick off your work week with a discussion about EA's recently announced Access program courtesy of a question from Brutal Brainwork (@BrutalBrainwork). Does the service offer enough to entice Xbox One users to dish out the dough or could it be improved before players part with their cash? We discuss on this Monday edition of EpicBattleCry!

Got a question for the EpicBattleCry crew? Hit us up on Twitter via @EpicBattleAxe and tune in Monday-Friday to find out if your Q gets an A on EBC!

Sony has said that they passed on EA Access because it's not good value. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/07/30/sony-ea-acces...

I would not support EA or Microsoft for a long while but I agree with DK. Subscriptions to everything are taking the fun out of it. A one-stop shop is preferred through PSN or XBL but even still I'm not going all digital for bluray movies or bluray games due to infrastructure and ownership. Buffering can still be a problem and bandwidth caps may come into reality in the US. Also, I assume somewhere in the online terms of service that we will never own anything that is not physical through a brick and mortar.

Great discussion. Longer is not a bad thing

Paid $40 for a 1 year subscription to PS Plus. That's $3.33 a month. That's a better value than EA Access, not only for the price but the benefits. Besides, EA's games don't cater to my interests. So no thank you EA.

Identifying with games and game characters

This is actually just a copy-paste of my most recent comment on this weeks Axe Factor. I've long intended this as a blog post, which is why it appears here as well.

I haven't heard the podcast yet, but I felt like writing a response to the question to this weeks poll, "Have you ever had a "That's Me!" experience with a video game character?"

The answer is yes. One of the most powerful gaming experiences for me the last couple of years have been To The…
