EpicBattleCry - Our Best Mutliplayer Experiences

With the highly-anticipated release of Destiny nearly upon us, we kick off this week's EpicBattleCry podcasts with a question from EBA Axehead Rhys Thomas Elliott (@SUPERhys) about our favorite multiplayer experiences. From old-school shooters to more modern sports titles, we evaluate our online (and in-person) multiplayer experiences on today's EBC!

I'll give my best experiences to World of Warcraft (since it sucked 6 years of my life) and then Guild Wars 2 since I keep going back. CoD also follows shortly on the heels with CoD4, Black Ops and black ops 2.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Worms Armageddon and Command and Conquer Red Alert 2. Every one of these titles stirs up some good memories of couch and LAN multiplayer. Recently, playing Resident Evil 5 and 6 with my girlfriend has been extremely fun...

In a similar fashion to the guys' LAN exploits, my first and biggest foray into the local multiplayer scene was Perfect Dark. So much chaos and so much fun, we used to pop over to either my place or a friend up the road everyday after school for a few rounds of PD before homework and man was it a hoot. Another shout goes to Mario Party for just being such a fun party game.

As far as online, I'd probably point to Left 4 Dead 2, where I played Versus for a loooooong time as I'm a big fan of asymetrical gametypes and L4D2 did/does it the best. I also dropped a lot of time into Red Dead's multiplayer as well as Halo 3.

Identifying with games and game characters

This is actually just a copy-paste of my most recent comment on this weeks Axe Factor. I've long intended this as a blog post, which is why it appears here as well.

I haven't heard the podcast yet, but I felt like writing a response to the question to this weeks poll, "Have you ever had a "That's Me!" experience with a video game character?"

The answer is yes. One of the most powerful gaming experiences for me the last couple of years have been To The…
