Looking back at the last console generation and hearing what many people who have said positive thing about the PS4, it seems to me that the eventual success of a of any game format be it PC hand held or console is one simple and subtle aspect: Whatever the device is suppose to do, does it work smoothly. The kinect 2 would be wildly anticipated if what it offered was not perceived as being buggy. I feel that consoles are in a spot where they are being faced with PC gaming that has become increasingly more user friendly and offering a more console like experience. The console market has been trying to prove their distinctiveness by offering experiences like motion controls and I believe that that is a miss direction. The PS4’s has been praised so far on it’s easy of use and enhanced performance and a lot of seemingly small improvements that come together to make a big difference in how people are using a console not a wild paradigm shift that I feel other console manufacturers are pushing and betting on.
