And this is why I love this podcast. Different points of views to help us gamers decide on what to buy. It got intense there for a while during the Xbox discussion and everyone respected the others opinion without getting into a fight. If only more reviewers would at least try to review hardware or software with experience using the product, instead of using the hype train. Loved it Keep it up!

Hi guys. Unfiltered, Tony said you came unfiltered to this things, well, for the first time I felt you weren't. Not that you praised the VGX, but being a long time listener I don't believe that if the VGX had nothing to do with Spike or Gametrailers you would have spent most of the show talking about the trailers and reveals, and then very softly, very carefully, pointing out the things that went wrong. I understand it's not easy to be as blunt, straightforward and sarcastic as you usually are when you have this show on GT, and when Daniel works for them, but it seemed to me you were a bit soft on the train wreck. Even Kyle Bosman on GT was more incisive: "how about making an award show for people? Just make an award show human beings might want to watch." Don't get me wrong, you did say some things that you thought that were wrong with the show, and by no means praised it, but it seemed to me you were overly cautious in the way you did it.

Guys, "jamais" is french for never... so "jamais vu" means Never seen! Aren't you glad to have a french Canadien as a listener! ;)

@Miguel: You have to remember that these guys are first and foremost friends. Imagine if you and me were friends in real life. If we had a podcast in which I talked badly and unfiltered about your employer I would always be leaving you in a situation wherein you would either have to defend your employers or you would have to remain silent the whole time. That would make me a crappy friend, in my humble opinion.

This podcast excists on the internet, where everything is visible and nothing is forgotten. Tony may say unfiltered but you have to keep in mind that this show is not hardcore journalism, they do this for fun.

I have to share your same sentiment regarding the Telltale/Borderlands reveal.  It was kind of like popping one off solo for the first time.  I'm sitting there like "what the freak...something's going on...I'm not sure what...but I feel like I have to go to the bathroom...ummmm...but I don't want to leave yet...OK...OK...OK...my nose is running."  Then BAM...the reveal....YEEEEAAAH!  I was probably the best moment of the freaking show...unexpected and much desired frickin' pandemonium as a wake to the fifth horsemen (i.e. A better tomorrow)

There isn't much to say about this episode but I'm glad it's here.

I've always missed the VGAs because of timezone differences. This time I managed to watch the show for 2 hours until I just couldn't take the pain any longer. If I had known this was how the show was going to be I would have gone to bed sooner and dreamed about something happy.

The Show definitely felt like it was going into the right direct with a longer more casual show than an award show that felt like some MTV spoof. The thing that I would replace would be Joel with Daniel who has a passion for gaming and has the hair to back it on camera.

Here is hoping that next years will be better and that I won't be left cranky.

I believe Tony and Kyle did a great job in pointing out that there is room for improvement without "pooping in their own bed" or getting Daniel in an uncomfortable situation. Enough other media pointed out the flaws in great detail and not everything was bad which is also worthy of mentioning. I have a lot of respect for people that stick to their values and do not bad mouth the colleagues or employer in the media.

No Man's Sky looks totally ace. It makes me remember the old ZX Spectrum game Elite. I used to love that back in the day. Traveling free around the universe, getting into random space battles and docking with unknown space stations. Great times and it mattered not a jot that the whole thing was rendered in sub 8 bit graphics. Your imagination and passion filled in the gaps for you. If No Man's Sky can achieve the same level of immersion and exploration that Elite did all those many moons ago, then it could be a pretty profound experience. Oh... And get DK on VGX duty stat. Don't deprive the world of THAT hair.

I didn't watch the VGX's, but I'm glad they're there.

I still maintain that VGx was indeed headed down a better path than the previous iterations this year, but it definately hit multiple speed bumps. I understand that people like Joel McHale, but as far as I'm concerned there is no real defending of his shit job here. Fit for purpose Joel was not, even taking out the humor(?) he made the show much more stilted and hard to watch than he did add to either the experience of watching the show or adding to the conversation being had between the show hosts and the developers. I absolutely agree with Brent and Tony that our very own DK would been a MUCH better choice for a co-host: let Geoff do the reveals and have hosting duties (talk to big developers) and give DK the interviewing sections, it would have 'immensely' improved the show just like that (as the reveals were actually pretty good if not a little lower key than usual, and the interviews were actually pretty good even with Joel trying to drive them into the ground constantly).

I believe, and I've said this a couple times around the place, just make it a long GTTV with awards: Have Geoff and Joel host, have 10 reveals or so, a couple of light doco type stuff (the Donkey Kong doco from VGx this year was actually really cool, more of that), have some awards and call it a show. Also speaking of awards, actually show the awards please, it took me nearly half an hour after the show had finished to find out who won everything... and that SUCKS. As far as I'm concerned, if you're going to have a category you must show the nominated games (even if its just in a sizzle reel, I'll accept that at this point) and have some kind of pre-recorded acceptance bit or have them walk on and accept. Also have a live crowd of some description, it was terrible just announcing who one game of the year and then not hearing any fanfare, game developers that put their lives into these games for years and years deserve more than that.

I have high hopes for VGx still (after what I consider a pretty disappointing showing) but it certainly has all the parts of the show we all want it to be, we just need to better arrange the pieces and throw out all the shitty ones named Loiter Squad
