Ivan - I might have missed it fellas; but, I feel like the "tacked" on multiplayer was an attempt to increase profit from titles. COD established a cash cow with their yearly installments of the series; and, the multiplayer not only kept gamers playing and kept their games away from the second hand sellers, it gave them a venue to farm out DLC, map packs, skins, upgrades etc. Mass Effect 3 even forced players into their multiplayer by tying multiplayer progress to the final ending of the campaign. Multiplayer means increase profit margin and this is more than a bullet point. It represents how single player campaign/story games can extend their shelf life and cash revenue. Nevertheless, I am in agreement. Games should not strive to be something that they aren't by straying too far from their core experience.
