Glad to hear that there was actually a Discussion happening, as opposed to three people flat out saying Nintendo is F**ck** and needs to release games on other platforms. Really appreciate hearing multiple opinions, despite my refusal of the whole idea.

I wonder about the future of video games...while each past generation was marked by graphical leaps.  We can all remember walking passed an EB Games (Gamestop) or Best Buy and seeing a PS1, Dreamcast, or 360 and staring in awe.  The PS4and XBOX1 have not had a great graphical leap as compared to the past generations; worse yet, the marketplace and market buzz stir around games currently available on last gen systems, are remakes/re-enhancements games available on last gen systems, or are prequels or arguably derivative of other game experiences.  And, sadly, poor AI, awkward game mechanics, and mediocre games still abound.  Perhaps my expectations are too high or the new console incubation period of creativity will last a lot longer than usual.  But I ask the question....what if it never gets better than this my brothers?... I am hopeful a hero will emerge to inspire us all beneath these wretched stars.

I am shocked Brent hasn't played Civilization before (or at least that is the way I am inferring from his comments here and from what I know he's said in the past), it seems absolutely right up his alley considering his affinity for history and emergent narrative. Also Firaxis has plenty of teams so I'm sure a new XCOM is also in the works, Jake Solomon who is the lead on XCOM is not working on this project the guys behind the last two Civ expansions are behind it (one of which was just okay and one which was fantastic and you should never play the vanilla game ever again without it). So yeah, I wouldn't worry about Beyond Earth eating up a potential next gen XCOM sequel just yet.

Also I am totally behind Tony on the Super Mario Sunshine train of thought, it would seriously go a long way to me picking up a WiiU or at least considering one (something which I'm not considering currently)

Tony, they /did/ remake Mario 64, on the DS. Graphics were actually smoothed out a lot and besides other additions they also had a bunch of new minigames and let you play as 4 characters.

To me the PS4 version of The Last Of Us is simply the best possible way of releasing the GOTY-edition I've been waiting for.

Might get an upgrade rather than buy the whole game again. I'd appreciate that.

I am one of those that did not play The Last of Us because I had already sold my PS3. So maybe I will check it out now on PS4.

Regarding remakes I would like to see Commander Keen again. An a 2D sidescrolling shoter thing where I don't know the name anymore :( It was on the C64. You were a soldier and walked from left to right (and back?) and there was a automatic shots powerup das was a big "A" and a damage powerup that was a big "P". I also would like to see some Turrican.

I love the Battlecry of Brent. I am a backer of Star Citizen, too. Brent, I hope we will fly together in my bigger multi crew ships.

@Aussie Legend: ditto on Civ and X-COM.

Woahey!

Great episode Axelords!

Huh, Remastered version for The Last of Us? Already? Well I might get it then for Ps4, well when I buy one next year. :)

Kinnect features don't matter to me.. I guess it is a feature you only get with Xbone but the PS4 and PC have mics too, so I dunno. The only microsoft thing that matters is Windows 7.

I'm so stoked for Dragon Age: Inquisition! To actually be a "Qunari" is gonna be awesome, also semi-open world is a good step for the series and to have tried to rival Witcher 3 since Witcher 2 killed DA2 when it released.

You also don't need your old saves to import prior decisions from DA1 and DA2 into DA3, with their https://dragonagekeep.com service. We will now be able to do tons of choices from DA1 and DA2 to change a bit of the world in DA3 with those important choices you have made in the earlier games in the series. I assume in the lines of that interactive comic that Bioware did for ME1 choices you can do for ME2.

Bioware better make DA3 a good effing game or I think Bioware will be in some serious trouble.. They used to be RPG gods.. As of now I think CDPR had become the new RPG gods, the pupil, has become the mastah.

CivCin looked really good. Woll like to see some in-game footage before I judge.

Some old game franchises could do well with a remake. Like Chrono Trigger and as you said FF7, even FF8 in my oppinion. Perhaps the Shinobi games too yeah. Rock n' Roll Racing. Many SNES games for sure. SNES is the best gaming console to date I think.

Stay sharp and keep cutting away fat.. :)
