EpicBattleCry Update and The Future of EBA.com

Hey gang, DK here with a quick update on the next Skirmish of EpicBattleCry as well as a bit of info for all Axe Heads pertaining to the the future of EpicBattleAxe.com. If you watch the vid, you'll pretty much learn all you need to know about where the site will be headed in the weeks and months to come, but I wanted to provide a place for the community to discuss it all as well.
As an FYI, I'm in NYC covering Comic Con NY this week, but will be checking your comments throughout the weekend and posting any responses as soon as I can. Brent, Lorin, and the rest of the EBA crew will be around as well and we'll, so be on the lookout for replies from team EBA on the whole.
We're SO VERY PROUD of the EpicBattleAxe community and as expressed in the vid, the value of properly maintaining and growing what's going on is of the utmost importance. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
Thanks everyone!
DK

I must say this is the best gaming community i have ever seen. And i totally agree. This should be a site for passionate gamers. Quality over quantity. No fanboys,no trolls, just gamers. When i come to EBA.com every day i can just feel the passion this community has for video games. It was made by gamers, for gamers. And you can feel that in the same way you can feel when some video game was made with genuine passion.

Totally agreed in keeping EBA.com A tight passionate community over huge numbers. Also I cant wait to see what you guys are doing with the EBC video.

Whew, I snuck in under the wire without actually having to contribute anything of value. My mother, however, is hard at work on a homemade continuation of the Mass Effect saga, programmed exclusively on her overclocked Commodore Vic 20, which she'll be submitting as an "entry fee" to this hallowed site.

Looking forward to the video version of EBA, gentlemen, and whatever else is to come. Nice work.

@Uncle Dude.  Can I get a copy of your mum's Mass Effect saga game.  Sounds awesome.  I just gotta dig out my old double pronge TV adapter.

Seriously Axelords and Gatekeepers.  I think this is awesome, and hopefully once the spam bots are cleaned out of the community this will improve the service.  I think all of us on here appreciate the community, what has grown over the years at EpicBattleAxe.com and where this is being taken by the Axelords on behalf of the Axehead army.

Cry havoc and let our voices be heard.

P.S.  To ensure that everyone can experience the love, when the site hits 1000 members, can you make sure it is easy for people who visit the site and trun away at log in to easily access the podcasts.  Thanks in advance.

I also agree with building the community up slowly, if you look at gametrailers.com they have way too many members because they let anyone join which brings in bad apples who are not there to have decent discussions and are just there to troll or cause problems. There are also not enough mods to control what is being posted etc so the site is filled with a butt load of crap :(

Also DK mentions about the site being all about the EBA community and not just about them posting stuff for us to comment, just wondering is there (or will there be) an area on the site where new ideas to improve site can be posted so that the EBA community can say what they would like to see in the future, even though as epic as EBA is I feel like the site is missing some features making me want to come back everyday instead of every so often to check for those awesome podcasts. (might just be because the site has just relaunched tho)

btw love the different platform groups section please add the others :)

Fucking A ! awesome news! Cant wait for video EPC to come back!

Is it going to be like last time which is just showing Game trailers of game footage of the games you are talking about ? because i think you have actual live feeds of your selves that would be awesome and more connecting.

Awesome news Special K ! and just saw you over at Game-trailers on the zombie Thang ..FYI you should of got FPSRUSSIA to go through the best weapon to use in a zombie apocalypse. xD

This is some good ideas DK, the GT community is... pretty terrible mostly so I think this would be a great way to ween some of the undesirables out.

Look forward to seeing the vid in 2 weeks time! Rock on \m/

I really love this community. No trolls at all. Can't wait for the return of video EBC.

Slow and steady. Love the discussions on EBA, I was never able to keep a decent conversation on almost any other site. Always remember... don't feed the trolls!

The Axe Factor Poll!

How much does the Xbox One-Nvidia "scandal" bother YOU?
A lot. This is one step removed from the Killzone 2 pre-rendered E3 trailer0%
I don't care as long as the games look this good running on Xbox One hardware (which they probably will)0%
Not at all, people are being naive to think this practice doesn't happen all the time0%
I'll reserve judgement until we see if the games look noticeably different on Xbox One hardware0%

Today I 'ave been mostly rememberin': Metroid Games

As I am typing this, we're deep inside the annual summer gaming drought of 2013. The last interesting current gen game I played was Bioshock Infinite. I'm now waiting patiently for The Last of Us to drop through the mail slot. In the interim, I have amused myself by going back and playing a whole bunch of the old Metroid titles. And I've had an absolute blast doing so. It's been one of the most nostalgic and satisfying gaming periods of my entire life. I replayed and finished all five of the…

What is your greatest wish/expection for the new generation?

After some discussion with the axeheads I asked myself what I want out of the next generation of gaming. And my answer is suprising. |It is neither better grafics or better AI. It does not even have to do with hardware.

What I want from the next generation the most is the introduction of used game sales for digital games. As soon as one of the major platforms does that I will go all digital, never looking back.

So, what would you like to see?

Nintendo Says: If devs are worried about used game sales, they should make better games

This bold statement was made by Nintendo and features on the Polygon site.

nintendo-if-youre-worried-about-used-game-sales-make-better-games

Personly i do, considering that most of the games made today and which are gonna be made for the Next-Generation of konsoles will be like before.

EpicBattleCry - E3 2013 Special

Step one: its EpicBattleCry! E3 2013 has played host to exciting game news, dramatic moments, and, some would claim, out-and-out homicide. From EA dropping the AT-AT foot to Jack Tretton dropping the mic, this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo will certainly go down as one of the most memorable. With DK still on full-time looking-good-in-LA duty, Brent and Tony sat down to discuss Nintendo's showing at this year's show, the fallout (good and bad) from Sony and…

Sarah Is the most important character in THE LAST OF US. Here's why....*MASSIVE SPOILERS*

The Last Of Us is a slow game, intentionally slow, because it has a story to tell and takes the time to do it. Naughty Dog knows that if you're not making an "action" game, then you need to engage…Continue
