My Top 15 Most Anticipated Games of 2013!!!

My Top 15 Most Anticipated Games of 2013!!!

Wooooooooohooooo it's 2013!!! We all survived 2012 :P which means I can actually do this list... screw you Mayans you failz xD

So it's that time of year again when everyone is looking forward to the epic games that are coming out during the year, even though most of us have already got a BBB (Big Badass Backlog) of games to play through, nobody really cares about those... we all want what is new and damn 2013 packs a punch of awesomeness to the face with all the great games incoming! Pow Pow! I originally planned to only do a top 10 list but as I started to list games I ended up close to 40... and then I had to dwindle the list down and just couldn't end up with 10 so I decided to do a top 15 instead!

Just to clarify I have only included games that we currently know of and all games listed must have a realistic chance of coming out in 2013 so there won't be any games like The Last Guardian, Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Half-Life 3 since those are 2025 titles lol. Also this is "MY" top games so no /crying ;_; if your game doesn't show up or if it is low on the list :) so without further ado lets get on with the list :D

Pikmin 3 (Wii U)

While I don't actually own a Wii U yet Pikmin 3 is definitely one of my must get games when I do. For those that do not know much about Pikmin games they are a real-time strategy game developed by Nintendo where you basically harvest your own army of Pikmin minions to do all your bidding (Lazy Captain Olimar!) where you control them to accomplish various of tasks such as building bridges, destroying barriers, defeating enemies and collecting valuable items. I've played both Pikmin 1 & 2 on the Gamecube and I loved both of them, they have some nice strategy involved with managing how many Pikmin you want on each given task. While Pikmin isn't the most complex of Real-time Strategy games it definitely one of the easier to get into and is great for anyone that is looking to get into the genre.

Also don't let the cute Nintendo art style fool you! The Pikmin games ain't easy your Pikmin will die D: Oh Noes! Especially when fighting against the bigger monsters they can sometimes get abit tricky hopefully they don't make the 3rd game easier. The second Pikmin game improved on nearly every aspect of the first adding more elements and new Pikmin types to game thus increasing more strategy within the game. Pikmin 3 also looks to follow suit with adding new Rock and Flying types!

This will be the first Pikmin game in HD and will probably be the best looking Nintendo game to date!

Beyond: Two Souls (PS3)

This is the second Quantic Dream game on the PS3 also directed by David Cage and is another Interactive Drama game but will be a Psychological/Spiritual Thriller this time. The game is about a girl called Jodie who is psychically linked to some sort of ghost/spirit named Aiden which sort of gives her psychic abilities. The game will portray 15 years of Jodie's life with Aiden and will focus on the meaning of life and death and will also explain the existence of Aiden. (Jodie is also voiced by the actor Ellen Page) The gameplay elements will probably be it's weak point similar to Heavy Rain with it's quick time events but I'm already expecting this and the whole point of the game is more about it's story and the emotional experience along with it, there really hasn't been another game based on this sort of story which I am really looking forward to seeing what Cage has come up with, hopefully it turns out great. :)

"I want to create an emotional journey, a unique experience. I am not interested in giving them 'fun', I want to give them meaning; I don't want to challenge their thumbs, I want to challenge their minds." - David Cage

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII (PS3, Xbox 360)

Ironically this ended up being 13th on my list... :O While alot of Final Fantasy fans probably ain't even bothering with any more XIII games due to obvious reasons (which could be a completely different blog...) I am still interested in Lightning Returns. For those that do not know Lightning Returns is going to be an Action Role-playing game developed by Square-Enix which is basically going to be the last game in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy based around the character Lightning (for some odd reason they did not want to call it FFXIII-3)

The game is set 200 years after the events of the 2nd where Lightning has awoken from her crystal slumber and sees that the previous world has merged with Vahalla. What she does not know though is that the world will end in 13 days! (The Mayans can redeem themselves in this game xD) The game is based on a real-time clock like design similar to that of The Legend Zelda: Majora's Mask, where you will have a limited amount of time, so your somewhat restricted in what you can do. It will be a "world driven" game where every certain task you do such as doing a side-quest or saving someone will grant you with extra time or in some cases will reduce the amount of time you have left before the world ends!

I've always been a huge Final Fantasy fan and have played every single title in the series, even though the XIII games are probably the weakest games in the series I honestly still liked them even though they did not live up to anyone's expectations. However the XIII games are getting better so maybe 3rd times the charm? ;) While I don't expect anything epic from Lightning Returns I am somewhat interested in the whole concept of the game and how they will end Lightning's saga.

"How will you spend your final days?"

Grand Theft Auto V (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

 *Everyone leaves the blog*

Wow! Ok... I know what your all thinking why is GTA V only 12th!!! I'm probably in the minority here when I say this but I just don't share the same excitement as everyone else does when it comes to Rockstar Games... (sorry Brent shoot me now lol) I know Rockstar produce some of the best quality games but I just don't feel anything special from them personally. I just never seem to be able to finish any of the games they create... which is probably the main reason why I don't... lol but I do enjoy the parts that I did play, I always seem to get distracted from the main storyline and then get bored and not play the game again :/ However I am going to give GTA V a chance and try to finish the story without getting sidetracked... hopefully it will change my mindset on their games :)

For those that don't already know (probably no one) GTA V is an open-world gimme all your money or I'ma kill your bitch you mother ****er! type of game developed by Rockstar xD The game will be set in a fictional state of "Los Santos" and in the surrounding area of San Andreas including the countryside in which the world is suppose to be bigger than Read Dead, GTA: San Andreas and GTA IV all combined! You will control 3 different protagonists Michael a retired professional bank robber, Trevor a hot-headed psychopath who is kind of the wild card out of the 3... and Franklin a young black grim repo man who has alot of experience behind the wheel but doesn't have much experience in crime until he meets Michael.

A unique feature to the game is when you control 1 of the characters, the other 2 will carry on with their daily lives and when you switch to them you could be surprised at where they ended up or what they are doing! All 3 characters will also be linked to each other during the game's story. Pretty much every mechanic from GTA IV will be improved in V in a big way like the driving mechanics where it will feel more like a racing game, the shooting mechanics, the pedestrians, new activities added such as yoga, jet skiing, tennis, golf etc as well as a better multiplayer. While I don't sound super excited for GTA V I can't deny that this game will be one of the big guns in 2013!

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs (PC)

Forget your Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Dead Space games... This right here is a true Survival Horror game. Even if your not really much of a PC gamer like myself, Amnesia is definitely one PC exclusive you don't want to miss out on! After playing the first one "The Dark Descent" all I can say is wow... it scared the living shit out of me! D: What!? Yes video games can do this, it is no longer a myth! /shocked! lol (Thank you Frictional Games) Amnesia is based around scary tension moments which sort of reminded me of some games that I used to play from the PS1 era, the Dracula Point & Click games, while Amnesia isn't an actual point and click game it has some sort of elements of what they used to be like and if you haven't played The Dark Descent then I would recommend you to do so!

Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs is the sequel and is still by Frictional Games but this time it is being developed by "thechineseroom" and it will remain as a survival horror... oh thank god :P It will be a indirect sequel from the first game but set in the same universe and will have a new cast of characters and it would seem that it will involve Pigs! (Me love me some Bacon) The game will be set in 1899 and the main focus of the story will be about a character called Oswald who is a wealthy industrialist. He returns from an expedition from Mexico while hit by a fever and ends up having many weird dreams about a Dark Machine. When he awakens little does he know that months have past and all he hears is a roar from a engine from a Mysterious Machine... Help me! D: I'm already scared!

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (PS3, PC)

This is the one MMORPG that I am looking forward to in 2013! While the original release was a flop and probably was the biggest failure in Square-Enix's History... You cannot deny the effort and improvements that they have made to this game that are going to be in version 2.0! So what have they actually changed since they released that disaster? The easiest way I could explain it would be: Basically Everything! They have changed the graphics engine, revamped the combat system, revamped the crafting system, revamped the quest system, they have redesigned all 40 areas of the game, reworked the current jobs and added new ones along side them, a brand new user interface, adding 1vs1 PvP and large scale PvP, they have also added jumping (everybody loves to jump!) added dungeons/instances, new monsters, new bosses, new loot... etc the list goes on and on, they are basically redoing the whole game from the ground up! You got to hand it to their new game director: Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) he has really saved this game from oblivion!

As usual just like with any other FF game the story is always a key feature to the games as well as the soundtrack and FFXIV will not disappoint in those departments especially as the legendary Nobuo Uematsu has composed another awesome soundtrack for this game! A Realm Reborn is also a nice fitting name for what has happened with all the events of the game. Not many companies would of bothered with such a task but as their previous online game FFXI is their most profitable game ever (which is receiving another expansion this year!) they wanted to make a successful successor to continue their relevance in the MMO department and by god from the looks of it they have certainly got my interest in FFXIV: A Realm Reborn! The servers are currently down in order for them to work on all the improvements and major content that will be implemented into the game. Hopefully it will turn out as good as it looks and sounds :)

Dragon Quest VII (3DS)

Dragon Quest VII is a turn based Role-playing game published by Square-Enix and is being developed by ArtePiazza for the 3DS. The game is set on a small island "Estard" where "You" the protagonist find out from a map fragment that this is not the only island in world and that there used to be many more continents! After somehow being able to travel back in time you seem to notice that there is some kind of evil being causing problems for the World! Is this the reason behind why there is only a small island left in the future!?

I've always been a huge Dragon Quest Fan ever since I played VIII on the PS2, as well as currently playing the DS remakes, while this game is also a remake of Dragon Quest VII I never got round to playing it the first time since it never got released on the PS1 over here in the EU. The game is best known for it's huge size, supposedly without even doing any of the side content it will take you a 100 or more hours to complete! Wow talk about an epic adventure... hopefully it's quality over quantity :P It is currently going to be released in Japan on 7th February but does not yet have an release date outside of Japan. It better come out sometime this year!

Tomb Raider (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

The return of Lara Croft in this Reboot of Tomb Raider developed by Crystal Dynamics. The game will be about Lara's first adventure as an archaeologist and how she turns from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor! Oooooh yeah! But it will not be related to any of the previous Tomb Raider games though. She sets off by ship with Captain Conrad Roth (probably also a main character) and his crew but they are hit by a violent storm splitting the ship into 2! and they end up on a nearby island "Dragon's Triangle" separating all the ship's crew and passengers. She there then has to survive the dangers that await for her on the Island. D: The game itself has been stated as a open-world game but will have many different gameplay elements involved including, adventure, exploration, survival, shooting, platform and RPG.

I've always been a huge fan of the Tomb Raider series for many reasons ;) which makes me very keen in seeing what this reboot will bring to the series. At first I was not really that interested in the game (except for the gorgeous CGI trailer) the gameplay just did not seem anything special to me but once I started watching some of the gameplay mechanic trailers I was hooked! Survival seems to be key in this Tomb Raider. They have also confirmed that multiplayer will be in the game which doesn't really surprise anyone as pretty much every game is following that route... However the biggest disappointment for me is that Lara does not know how to swim yet so no wet Lara ;_; this makes me sad :(

Bioshock Infinite (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

Out from the depths of the sea and into the skies from above! Bioshock has changed it's formula and I'm glad they did, this fresh new look to the game makes it all so much more appealing. The game is developed by Irrational Games (who did the 1st Bioshock wooo!) and will also be a first-person shooter game like the rest. The game is set in 1912 where it will follow the main protagonist Booker DeWitt who has been sent to the floating air city of Columbia to find and rescue a young woman called Elizabeth who has been captive there for twelve years! (damn :( bitches!) If Booker is able to rescue Elizabeth he will then be cleared of all his old debts which is his last chance in doing so... as he rescues her he then soon realises that she has some special powers!!! O_O

The game seems to revolve around the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth and how they will conquer getting off the floating city or maybe there is more to it than that we shall see! I'm not that much into first-person shooter games myself but Bioshock has always been one of the ones that I've always enjoyed and Infinite looks just as fun if not more so! It has been confirmed that the Multiplayer has been dropped from it and would not be included in the game but I couldn't care less for it... as I only played Bioshock 2's MP for a few days before getting bored of it. Hopefully the floating world of Columbia will be just as intriguing as the depths of Rapture :)

Soul Sacrifice (PS Vita)

What the Vita has a game coming out for it!? Jokes aside this game is definitely worth getting if your a Vita owner. Soul Sacrifice is an action role-playing game developed by Marvelous AQL and SCE Japan Studio the same guys behind the awesome Gravity Rush game also on the Vita. Even though Soul Sacrifice seems similar to Demon's Souls don't get confused the game is not in the same series even though SCE Japan Studio also helped From Software to develop Demon's Souls.

The protagonist in the game is a slave that serves a powerful and cruel sorcerer. Just before he is going to be sacrificed, one of the sorcerer's books appears before him! In which is a demon who can also talk :O The book basically contains the history of different sorcerers and the spells they used and also describes the past fights between monsters and powerful sorcerers. The protagonist is then able to enter the book's worlds and can experience the fights that were told thereby gaining experience and power. You will have 3 spells that you can use from a list and every time you kill a monster you will have the choice to either sacrifice the monster's soul or save it. If you save it you gain defence experience but if you sacrifice it you then gain attack experience!

The game will also include a 4 player co-op multiplayer which is definitely needed for the tougher monsters. There will also be an added gaming mechanic in which you can use where you will be able to sacrifice yourself in order to help the rest of your team. If you like the Monster Hunter games or the Demon/Dark Souls games then you will probably also like Soul Sacrifice! :)

It will be released in Japan on 7th March but currently does not have a release date for the west but it has been confirmed that it will be released, hopefully in 2013!

Project Zwei (TBA)

So you are probably wondering what the hell is this game? Well first off it's a game by Shinji Mikami!!! and in case you were wondering who the hell this guy is... he has worked on the following games: Resident Evil 1-4 (as well as other RE spin-offs), Dino Crisis 1-3, the original Devil May Cry, Viewtiful Joe, Killer7, God Hand, Vanquish and Shadows of the Damned. While some of his games are not for everyone I love this guy as a game designer/producer. He is probably one of the best in my opinion, he is most known for creating the Resident Evil series but left Capcom after RE4 and we all know where that series has headed... :(

He has since started his own Studio "Tango Gameworks" in 2010 and is currently working on the game "Project Zwei" which is not it's official name but I'm assuming he has called it that because this is going to be a 2nd Resident Evil type game that he has created, zwei meaning 2 in German. There isn't much info about the game except for some artwork and that Mikami has stated that this will be a true survival horror game! We don't even know which consoles it is coming out for maybe the new ones :)? However Mikami has also stated that this will be his last game that he directs... Noooooooooo! I hope he has saved his best game for last ;) I am very eager to find out more about this game!

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3, Xbox 360)

Oh Platinum Games... Oh Platinum Games... how we love them Platinum Games :D On paper a spin off Metal Gear Solid game with a different genre shouldn't really work and it actually didn't work out for Kojima Productions as they had cancelled Metal Gear Rising but Platinum Games came to the rescue and actually made this into something special. The combat in this game looks so freaking awesome! If I was to base this list only on the combat systems then Rising would of easily took the top spot.

Metal Gear Rising is a Hack & Slash game and is set in 2018 (4 years after MGS4) you control the character Raiden (who was also in MGS2 and MGS4) he is a Cyborg Ninja Katana wielding badass! His high frequency Blade is his main weapon which can cut through things like butter! :o The cutting system seems to be the most interesting combat mechanic in the game where it pretty much allows you to cut through virtually every object in the game. Blade Mode allows you to target enemies precisely using a transparent blue plane which can be rotated and moved and tracing orange lines across the surfaces of objects to indicate exactly where they will be cut. Blade Mode can also allow you to enter a slow-motion state giving players the opportunity to precisely slash targets during moments of action, such as slicing through a falling target from multiple angles before it hits the ground. Stealth elements will also be part of game including a fan's favourite the Cardboard Box! I can't wait to see what the godly combat is like in action especially against the bosses :P

The Last of Us (PS3)

The Last of Us Developed by Naughty Dog is a new game series which is going to be a Third-person Survival game. The game is set in the United States during a post-apocalyptic which was caused by fungus! The game will focus on the two main characters Joel and Ellie where they will work together to try to survive during these harsh times... The gameplay will revolve around survival avoiding the infected fungi people (get away you mushroom men!) as well as other survivors who ain't too happy in seeing you alive... D:

Naughty Dog can't do anything wrong in my books, they are such an awesome development studio probably Sony's best and definitely my favourite in the gaming. From playing Crash Bandicoot as kid to playing Jak and Daxter as a teenager to playing Uncharted as a young adult! I've grown up with Naughty Dog and they always seem to produce the goods and from what I have seen from The Last of Us it seems like it will follow in the footsteps of their previous games. Naughty Dog are the definition of Quality over Quantity in the world of gaming :)

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (PS3)

Studio Ghilbi and Level-5 team up to produce this gorgeous looking JRPG and damn what a combination it is! Studio Ghilbi who are well known as one of the best producers of anime have used their Art Style for the animation in Ni no Kuni as well as producing the soundtrack. My family are all huge fans of the Studio Ghilbi films including myself we have pretty much watched every film that they have created but when I told them that their next title was going to be a video game not a film they wished it wasn't... but since I own a PS3 I do not need to miss out on this, Ha! suckers... xD Level-5 are using their experience for the gameplay aspects and if you don't know who Level-5 are they produced games such as the Professor Layton games on the DS, Dark Cloud 1 & 2 on PS2, White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2 on the PS3 and probably one of my favourite JRPGs Dragon Quest VIII on the PS2 (such an epic game!) They always strive to produce the best possible games they can. I just love that these 2 studios are making a JRPG (my fav genre btw) the combination is heavenly for me. ;)

Ni no Kuni is about a 13 year old boy called Oliver who nearly loses his life drowning but his mother saves his life, however she dies soon after. While crying for his loss, his tears makes a doll come to life and reveals he is a fairy named Drippy. He tells Oliver that there are two worlds, one in which his mother may still be alive. Drippy then hands him a magical book that gives him the ability to enter the second world of "Ni No Kuni". Oliver explores the world and encounters alternate versions of people in his own world. (seems similar to Wizard of Oz it even has a witch and wizard in it!)

Ni no Kuni is probably the first 2013 game that I'm going to play but typically the game is delayed for EU peeps from the 25th Jan to the 1st Feb... at least Level-5 are giving us free DLC for the extra wait... I pre-ordered the Wizard's Edition and I can't wait for it!

Dark Souls II (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

It's time to prepare your Soul once more for the death that awaits! The second coming of Dark Souls is on it's way where you will be trashed, stabbed, sliced, burnt, electrified, clubbed, crushed once more while your Soul tries to survive the monstrosities from the depths of hell!!! This game separates the real men from the boys!

Dark Souls II definitely deserves the #1 spot for varies of reasons based on the first epic game (as well as Demon's) even though we have only seen the trailer and minor info about the game I'm already sold on the game since there is going to be chariots!!! Some fans are worried about this game since they changed the director and have stated that they wanted to make the game more accessible for new players... while this may seem like they are going to make the game easier, I think they mean more easier to understand what is what and where you need to go etc I have every faith in From Software to deliver what the current fans want! And in case you were wondering what that was it's DEATH! Damn how can dying in a game be so much fun? lol While the game supports co-op multiplayer only a true warrior will venture the Souls games alone and make it to end. If you haven't played Dark Souls or Demon's Souls then I highly recommend you do so, unless you are scared of dying...

This game probably won't come out before Q4 2013 and may end up as a 2014 title but there is always chance it will be in 2013! Dark Souls II is my #1 most anticipated game! Praise the Sun! :)

#Honourable Mentions

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (PS3, Xbox 360)

I'll admit that I'm a fan of the MGS series but I'm just not feeling any excitement for Ground Zeroes yet... while it does feels like a MGS game, I've just not seen anything so far that makes me get excited for it. I'm also a little worried about the story but hopefully Kojima will not disappoint. (Release Date: TBA)

God of War: Ascension (PS3)

I've been playing the multiplayer beta for GoW:A for quite awhile now and I really like what they have come up with as I haven't played another online multiplayer like it. I think it will be a nice addon to the singleplayer experience but like MGS:GZ I'm also worried about the story... seems like both of them have the same issue since they're both prequel titles of the main series. (Release Date: March 2013)

Tearaway (PS Vita)

Another Vita game to look forward to in 2013 developed by Media Molecule same guys who did LittleBigPlanet :) They seemed to of made another great little franchise that uses the Vita's hardware nicely, I'm glad they have done a fresh & new concept rather than another LBP game. (Release Date: TBA 2013)

HD Remakes:

Final Fantasy X HD (PS3, PS Vita)

My 3rd favourite FF title from the main series and one of my favourite stories in all of video games. I've been wanting to replay FFX for quite some time now but as soon as they announced the HD remake I've had to hold out! Square-Enix also seem to of taken alot of time making this HD remake maybe there is more to it than just a simple remake? I can't wait to play my favourite sports game again Blitz Ball!!! Maybe even online this time? :) (Release Date: TBA 2013)

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix (PS3)

Kingdom Hearts 1.5 includes: KH1 Final Mix which was only previously released in Japan which includes alot of extra content, it also includes KH chains of memories as well as the cutscenes from KH 358/2 days but remade in HD! While there hasn't been any confirmation of a release outside of Japan, Square-Enix would be stupid in not doing so... currently being released in Japan in March hopefully it will get localized so we can all enjoy the enhanced version of this awesome combination between FF and Disney (Release Date: TBA 2013)

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee New N Tasty (PS3, Xbox 360)

"Hello" "Hello" "Follow me!" "Ok" need I say more? ;) The original Oddworld Abe games were some of the best PS1 games and it is awesome to see the original returning back in some well deserved HD magic! If you never got to experience this awesome game then I recommend you to get this HD remake! (Release Date: Late 2013)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

Also: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate (3DS)

You never saw that coming! xD

Ok so I've cheated with this list... as it actually includes more than 15... but I have every right to! While this is technically two titles I couldn't really leave Mirror of Fate out since they are both sequels of the first Lords of Shadow and I'm just as excited for both of them. (Mirror of Fate is actually the main reason why I got the 3DS!) So you are maybe wondering why I'm so stoked for the Sequels of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? Well it's simply because Lords of Shadow is my favourite game this generation without a doubt and maybe even one of my all-time favourites!?

So you are probably wondering why it is? I shall tell you! Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was developed by Mecury Steam and is an Hack and Slash game. If you have played it you will know how epic the game actually is! (I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't played it yet so I have not included any spoilers) I just loved everything about the game: the dark fantasy setting, the lore, the sound track, the gameplay, the mind blowing story, the characters (Patrick Stewart as the voice of Zobek!) and the pacing of the game. How it starts off slowly and then just gets better and better as the game goes on and then finishes off with a Bang! Rarely does any video game get this so right. But despite all this awesomeness this is not the main reason why I love this game so much, it's a more of a personal reason to be honest. You may of noticed by now that my username is also the same name as main character's name in Lords of Shadow "Gabriel Belmont" but my real name is also Gabriel :) not Belmont though! Before the game came out I also lost my "Beloved" ;_; (Don't worry she did not die lol) I could easily relate to the Gabriel in the game because of this, never before have I ever experienced something like this in a video game where you actual feel as though you are the actual main character! Every time Zobek called my name "Gabriel" it just felt so personal to me as though he was talking to me... even the whole journey of the game itself helped me abit to get out of the whole depression state I was in due to how the story unfolded... This game was extremely emotional and meaningful to me even if others probably did not experience the same thing! Only 3 games have ever made me shred "manly tears" Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and now Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. I don't think another game could ever top this experience for me in a more personal way as I could relate to it so much. (I also doubt any other game coming soon will use my name again!) Ultimately my expectations of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is probably not going to reach my anticipation for it and rarely do sequels ever better the first especially in regards to story but I am definitely looking forward to seeing how they will end it. If you haven't played Castlevania: Lord of Shadows then I will highly highly recommend you to do so!

This is why Castlevania Lord of Shadow 2 is my Most Anticipated Game of 2013!

#The Future

Obviously this list is subject to change in the future as games will be announced all year round especially at E3 as well as the new consoles being just around the corner which will definitely bring some more new games to the table that I'm also probably going to be excited for (just like CyperPunk 2077 a few days ago... best trailer of 2013 anyone? lol) but as of now these are my most anticipated games of 2013!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry that the blog was so long but I wanted to make a quality blog list instead of just listing them without talking about each one. Hopefully some of you managed to read it all... lol

Please leave a comment below about my list as well as mentioning your most anticipated games of 2013 or any games you would like to recommend me (Please also correct me if you notice anything that doesn't make sense!)

Thank you for Reading! I hoped you enjoyed it :)

Amazing dedication, sir!

I have 3 key reply points:

  1. Yay for XIV 2.0! I completely agree, as I do with most everything on your list! :D
  2. Props for bringing the Mikami project to light. I'd never heard of it before this.
  3. That puppy is adorable... o.o

As for my own list, it's ever changing so it's hard to remain in place. As of now:

  1. Tomb Raider
  2. The Last of Us
  3. BioShock Infinite
  4. Dead Space 3
  5. The Phantom Pain
  6. Dark Souls II
  7. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
  8. Republique
  9. South Park: The Stick of Truth
  10. Pokemon X/Y

Honorable Mentions:

  • Sim City
  • Devil May Cry

Thank you Rialce :)

This list took me awhile to do lol I had to chose from too many games...

Republique I've never heard of it before, so I shall look it up!

A really good list Gabriel :) I also want to thank you for enlightened me of Project Zwei, that one has completely gone under my radar.

Great List! Great Article!! So many games this year!

Comment by LordX on January 13, 2013 at 10:10am

Great list dude! Very informative and well written! ^^ Never even heard of Mikami's project before this so I'm totally going to look into that further.

With so many great games coming out this year it's very hard to decide on any kind of list, but here are mine thus far (this may will change 2 seconds after posting):

  1. The Last of Us
  2. GTA V (for maybe 1 reason only: THE RETURN OF PLANES!)
  3. Ni No Kuni
  4. Tomb Raider
  5. Dark Souls II
  6. South Park: The Stick of Truth
  7. Beyond Two Souls
  8. Injustice: Gods Among Us
  9. Hyperdimension Neptunia V (NISA <3)
  10. Pokemon X/Y
  11. Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
  12. Tales of Xillia
  13. Bioshock Infinite
  14. Etrian Odyssey IV
  15. Dead Space 3

As far as Final Fantasy XIV 2.0 goes... It does look really good, but I've never been much of an MMO person :/ If it ends up going FtP sometime after its out (which is unlikely given Square Enix) I'll check it out.

I'm pretty surprised at how many people don't know about Project Zwei, good job I put it in my list!

@LordX

I actually had Sly 4 as one of my games in the honorable list but I forgot to include it... doh! and there are quite a few games that you have listed that I'm also interested in but they just missed out in the top 15. ^^

@Lorin

Hopefully you will be picking up Soul Sacrifice for your VITA :)

A very interesting list of games. Never heared of Project Zwei, that makes me wonder where is Project Ein? as Zwei meant two and Ein well means one.. Curious. A very solid wellcrafted gamelisting blog there Gabriel, kudos.

My Top 11 List is as follows:

  1. DmC
  2. Star Wars 1313
  3. Tomb Raider
  4. The Last of Us
  5. Beyond: Two Souls
  6. Crysis 3
  7. Castlevania Lords of Shadows 2
  8. Dead Space 3
  9. Dark Souls 2
  10. Dragon Age 3
  11. Metro Last Light

Honorable Mentions

  • The Witcher 3
  • Cyberpunk 2077

The honorable menitons I'm pretty sure they will not be released this year but I had to make mention them since I'm REALLY excited about those titles.

Those are my games I'm most interested to own in 2013. I tried to make a Top 15 but I'm not sure if there are any more games I want to get at this moment.

Comment by Israel Pacheco on January 13, 2013 at 4:44pm

@Gabriel Belmont: Holy shit dude!!! That was one EPIC list!!! I'm excited for a lot of those games. Top picks for me, in no particular order, would be: The Last of Us, MGS Rising, Bioshock Infinte, South Park, and GTA V. But there are so many other great games coming out. This might possibly be the best year in gaming history with all these amazing titles alongside new consoles.

Bioshock infinite is my holy grail for this year. dead space 3 is also one im drooling over. lords of shadow im happy for but not freaking over even tho i LOVED the first game. two souls looks good to, i loved heavy rain so hope its as good.  and as much as i love god of war im kinda meh about this new one. but hell ill get it lol

Comment by MonkeyNutz on January 14, 2013 at 4:11am

@Berserkaren: I'm assuming Project Ein was Resident Evil and Project Zwei will be his second defining Survival Horror game! Also very nice list :)

@Israel: I agree 2013 could be one of the best years in gaming there are far too many games that I'm interested in, especially when compared to 2012.

This is actually just a copy-paste of my most recent comment on this weeks Axe Factor. I've long intended this as a blog post, which is why it appears here as well.
