So, Playstation 4 will let me play stunning games like Killzone 4 with virtually no load-up time from power-on, self-publish innovations such as Witness, play digitial games WHILE they are downloading (making it essentially instant play) share my best gaming moments with the push of a button, watch my friends beatdown on jerkwad noobs AS it happens live, remote play my games from any device or on the Vita with PS4 graphics, remote play my FRIENDS games to help them through the tough bits, stream and play the entire back-catalogue of playstation games from the last 20 years and switch seemlessly between games and/or apps with little or no wait times while retaining my EXACT place within the game for when i get back to it......
And the general consensus is to BITCH about this presentation? Seriously??
I didn't come away feeling let down, the only thought that I could muster was "How the FUCK did they fit all of that into one box?!"
"But I'm not a social gamer and I don't like facebook" Is not a reasonable excuse for losing your rag. No-one is throwing you into a busy room and forcing you to make friends. Just play the games you want to play, the way you want to play them. Why should the social gamer be left out?
I'm not stupid, I know there is a degree of fluff and polish to the presentation and not everything will come up to scratch 100% but you can't fault Sony's ambition and it looks like they are on track to building an awesome gaming experience.
Comment by Berserkaren on February 21, 2013 at 3:57am Despite all the focus on the social media, boring and not interested in that, we got to see a few games and a new controller that is somewhat ergonomic! Praised be Odin!! I can at most play 1-2 hours with that damned controller without a break on intense gameplay sessions. Fingercramps and the like, this one looks to have been a lot more handfriendly than the last 3 controllers that are exactly the same, not a new controller since 1996-1997?! What gives Sony?! But I really need a new bluray player aka PS4.
Comment by Tralamazza on February 21, 2013 at 4:04am Well, people do remember certain promises and game renderings of the past console launches. Killzone for the PS3 is a famous example. Most demos, if not all, were pre recorded. I'm not even sure the Killzone 4 was live.
Everyone knew the PS4 was coming, even if you ignore the leaked joypad pictures. That leaves game reveals as the only real surprise of the night. I guess that's why some publishers/studios (i.e. EA, Square Enix) didn't bother showing something. They want E3, and they want the Holydays. That's why Sony didn't show the console. It's a good move by Sony, it forces MS to reveal something before E3, forcing your opponent to move is always a good way to control the field. Both Sony and MS need to dominate E3, so both will show the console there. But now MS has to come out with something that doesn't look like Sony's press conf, and that's tough.
Comment by Miguel Ramos on February 21, 2013 at 4:15am @Tralamazza Killzone 2 was an example. Except people forget that graphics wise the game got to be pretty close to that trailer. And the PS3 proved it could pull off those types of high quality renders. Just look at Uncharted 3 or God of War 3.
As for the PS4... I'm pumped! Just show me the console, tell me the price, I'm getting one!
Comment by Tralamazza on February 21, 2013 at 4:30am @Miguel Ramo Yup thanks for the correction, but I can't edit the comment. I've played the game (recently bought a PS3) and is nowhere near that demo. I am playing Uncharted 3, and while it looks great, it lacks the AA and fps shown in these demos. Is just not possible, given that we know how many flops the PS3 can churn out.
Comment by Miguel Ramos on February 21, 2013 at 4:34am Really? This was the reveal cinematic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko9xC6TMdiw
And this was the actual game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKxX7z2oVyY
You tell me they are not similar.
Comment by Tralamazza on February 21, 2013 at 4:43am Those are cutscenes, I don't understand what mean with that. Console launch demos are always made to look as if you were playing, 1st person camera, gun pointing out etc.
Comment by Miguel Ramos on February 21, 2013 at 4:47am Those were both cutscenes. Both pre rendered trailers. For me the real one was even better.
Gameplay wise it was close. Not as dynamic, but close.
Comment by Tralamazza on February 21, 2013 at 5:06am So the E3 2005 trailer is not misleading at all to you?
Comment by Miguel Ramos on February 21, 2013 at 5:12am Only because it was presented like it was gameplay. And it's not. But it was a target render, cinematics on the real game surpassed it and real gameplay was close. If you look at it as a taste of what the machine can do it doesn't fool you. If you look at it as gameplay it does. The trailers and tech demos showed for the PS4 are just a glimpse to what the console can do. That Quantic Dream stuff was impressive. The Deep Down trailer was impressive, Watch Dogs was impressive. And these are the first batch of games that, as always, don't push the console like later ones will. Just look at Resistance 1 and any game today for instance. Look at Oblivion and then Skyrim.

As I am typing this, we're deep inside the annual summer gaming drought of 2013. The last interesting current gen game I played was Bioshock Infinite. I'm now waiting patiently for The Last of Us to drop through the mail slot. In the interim, I have amused myself by going back and playing a whole bunch of the old Metroid titles. And I've had an absolute blast doing so. It's been one of the most nostalgic and satisfying gaming periods of my entire life. I replayed and finished all five of the…
After some discussion with the axeheads I asked myself what I want out of the next generation of gaming. And my answer is suprising. |It is neither better grafics or better AI. It does not even have to do with hardware.
What I want from the next generation the most is the introduction of used game sales for digital games. As soon as one of the major platforms does that I will go all digital, never looking back.
So, what would you like to see?
This bold statement was made by Nintendo and features on the Polygon site.
nintendo-if-youre-worried-about-used-game-sales-make-better-games
Personly i do, considering that most of the games made today and which are gonna be made for the Next-Generation of konsoles will be like before.

Step one: its EpicBattleCry! E3 2013 has played host to exciting game news, dramatic moments, and, some would claim, out-and-out homicide. From EA dropping the AT-AT foot to Jack Tretton dropping the mic, this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo will certainly go down as one of the most memorable. With DK still on full-time looking-good-in-LA duty, Brent and Tony sat down to discuss Nintendo's showing at this year's show, the fallout (good and bad) from Sony and…

The Last Of Us is a slow game, intentionally slow, because it has a story to tell and takes the time to do it. Naughty Dog knows that if you're not making an "action" game, then you need to engage…Continue
