LORIN! I'm SO excited to hear that you're playing Mass Effect 3! I'm confused though: are you playing from a save import containing your Mass Effect 1 & 2 choices, or no (SHAME on you if not!!)? Also, are you going to play any of the DLC, or use the vanilla ending or the extended cut? I STRONGLY recommend getting the From Ashes, Leviathan, and Citadel expansions if nothing else. And also, if you do, I recommend playing Leviathan and Citadel as late in the game as possible for optimal story cohesion.

Whatever you do, PLEASE keep us updated on the show so I can hear your opinions on the good and bad of the game and your overall feelings on the trilogy as a whole after you've played it to completion.

I had to recreate my Shepard for both ME2&3 as well, though my reason was I didn't think the face transfer between game engines went over very well. At least ME2&3 display a face code that you can write down for future playthroughs though.

Sorry for ranting but I've been waiting for you and/or Brent to finish this trilogy for FOREVER and I'm super-excited to hear you've picked it up again =)

Hey Elryk...I am not playing with a save import from 1 & 2.  I played those on the Xbox and I am now playing on the PC.  The "cloud save" I was referring to was that I played the first hour (on PC) a few months back, and that info is still here.  It's a real bummer for me too.  To be honest, I don't remember how it worked when I started the PC version...I can't remember if it let me choose who was stil alive or not.  Anyway, looking forward to playing it.

Aww that sucks! Well maybe one day you'll replay the trilogy on PC. Watching your decisions, both big and small have effects that carry over 3 games is what makes the ME trilogy so special. The different people you can romance, having the fate of entire civilizations be determined by your actions, character cameos, constant references (and consequences) to your past choices, etc. It all unfolds into a beautiful tapestry of what truly becomes "your" story.

It saddens me that that's not what you're experiencing now but I'll take what I can get I guess lol. Happy playing. Though I think you'll find that if you do come back and play one day with an imported save you'll find it to be a very different (and MUCH more satisfying) game =)

Yep...this is one of the most impressive and most disappointing parts of ME.  If you played all three on the same system it was incredible.  If you didn't - Bioware didn't think that through - and it is so TREMENDOUSLY disappointing.

Looking forward to some ps4 talk! Just downloaded the episode. You guys should get Tony on the show after the xbox release - since none of you will pick it up day one -

@Lorin When you mentioned that you got motion sickness from Stanley Parable, I wasn´t actually that surprised to see that it is a Source engine game. I have huge motion sickness issues with Valve games, especially Source games, though somehow not with any of the Portal games. Anyway, for me I think it is a combination of the FOV, the ice skatieness of the movement inertia and the swimmieness of the headbob. This has me worried for Titanfall, which I am actually looking forward to.

@Brent You mention that playing the new last of us content would take you back to using the Dualshock3, which obvious sounds like an issue for you and I image for many others. However, you can play some PS3 titles with the DS4. And one of those titles is The Last of Us. But the downside is having the DS4 always connected via USB cable, in order to function.

Contrast didn't do much for me until the puzzles picked up somewhat near the end, though even then there wasn't much challenge. I didn't experience any story related revelations during my playthrough, and in the 3~ hours it took to finish the game, the story never once gained my interest.  Maybe there was something to be discovered in all of those collectables, but I wasn't compelled enough to bother taking the time to read them.

It had some neat gameplay ideas, but they didn't seem to be fully realized into a wholly worthwhile experience. It wasn't a bad game, but it isn't one I'd recommend paying $15 for.

Resogun is definitely my favorite PS4 game so far, for reasons already stated by Brent. It's just pure arcadey fun.

As for the PS4 itself, I'm really loving it. Everything that it already does at launch seems to work exceptionally well, and the controller has been outstanding so far. As far as negatives; the low power suspend mode was a feature I was really looking forward to using as well, and yes, the feature was announced to not be available at launch. There isn't even a ballpark date for when the feature might be patched in yet, as far as I know. Another feature that isn't there yet is uploading directly to YouTube.

Brent, on the subject of you being hesitant to return to the PS3 because of the Dual-Shock 3, evidently, you can use your Dual-Shock 4 on the PS3 as long as it is plugged in via a USB cable. I don't have a PS4 myself, but I've read numerous sources that confirmed this.

Give it a try :)
