I feel kinda cheated with a TAF that is less than an hour long and you guys should be flattered to hear that right ?

I really enjoyed Titanfall Beta and will be considering getting the game if I can squeeze it with BF4. Didn't really get why Lorin was excited about Lord of Shadows 2 even when he talked about it ( he previously wrote a post about the demo )

I thought the combat was repetitive, the things enemies said were repetitive and the mechanics of the boss fight were repetitive as well.

For the Next Car Game topic I think a million dollar for most publishers is not that good really ? they have to pay the developers, marketing , distribution etc.

I have to agree with Lorin on Shadows of Mordor on this one. I have 50 hours in AC4: Black Flag right now and the combat in that game is really not as good as it should be. On ship decks especially with a lot of enemies and allies; blocks are often not registered and something as simple as a combo follow up often ends targeting another enemy. Still a great game because of the atmosphere and pretty much everything else.

Another great example on publishers not recognizing what the gamers want is Kingdom Come: Deliverance which is currently on KickStarter. Apparently it's privately funded but no publisher wanted to get on board, it reached its £300.000 goal in two days and are holding the first place on Kicktraq.
Speaking of KickStarter I'm really excited about Darkest Dungeon which is taking a little different approach on Dungeon Crawlers and have a just amazing art style. Go help reach the stretch goals, we're almost at 20% more game and the next goal is town events :)

@TheRealGamer...we are flattered.  The show was a bit shorter because of that damn baby!!  No, seriously, we just had a short time window to record this week.  Sorry :)

As for LoS2...I may not have articulated it well...and I saw that you didn't like it on the Activity Feed when the demo came out.  I just really liked the vibe, I was very grateful for the free cam...and dug the fighting.  Remember, I didn't really play the first one much and I don't tend to like games that are crushingly difficult.  I was also pretty taken with the art direction.  But...that being said...I am waiting because, if the game is 12 hours of the same thing...than I agree with you - no thank you.

And lastly, I know a million isn't much to a big publisher but, remember, that is 1 million with no marketing and in an alpha state.  Translated in to a finished and properly marketed product, that million could become millions.....

Liked Titanfall mechanics, especially the verticality, but I'm not too much in muliplayer shooters, so I will pass. If it had some nice singleplayer campaign, I'd be excited.

Lords of Shadow 2 looks very promising. I enjoyed the demo. Combat feels great altough it is has nothing special or new. Free camera is big deal and welcome change. Waiting for reviews, but probably day one purchase.

I have one question. Why did you ignored gameplay reveal for Lords of the Fallen in both EBC and EBA? It looks very nice.

Didn't ignore it, AbyssLord, never heard of it.  Just watched it though, and put it on the list for next week.  thanks for the heads up!

Hi. Great show. I'm really looking forward for Evolve, it's in that state right now were it can be a fresh new take on multiplayer, or a trick that goes stale far too quickly. Need more info to make up my mind.

There have been a lot of success stories on Kickstarter, but let's see how many failures along the way. A publisher cannot publish every games it's pitched to them, so they have to pick and choose their battles. The main franchises get the first pick. Of course that means along the way a few good games don't get a chance, but it's easy to look at just those and say publishers are blind. How many crap games were turned down? How many good games that fail exist? It's like that old movie joke: one year there were 100 movies made in USSR. 10 were great, 30 were average and 60 were crap. Stalin then order that in the next year only the 10 great ones got to be financed. And only 10 movies got made, 1 was great, 3 were average and 6 were crap.

It's too easy not to look at the big picture and call out the publishers.  I'm grateful that there are different ways for games to get made so that more people get a chance to take their vision to the gamers.

@Lorin

I don't dare to complain about the baby coz she's a must for the continuation of the axe lords bloodline.

-Next gen Axe lords / ladies ©™ . King.com isn't better than me :P

And sure I saw potential in Lord of Shadows 2 and will but will be cautious with my excitement.

I think with or without marketing the core audience for that type of game has found their fix.

Sure it will do better but not like it's gonna set the world on fire cause Twisted Metal ? didn't do well!

Yup, that is true Lorin. Basically Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor is Assassin's Creed: Arkham Origins.

Castlevania 2 looks and seem so very awesome! Also using keyboard should have keyboard icons.

The Axe Factor Poll!

What do YOU think the game industry should do to address social injustice?
Nothing, everyone should make the games they want to and include whatever they like0%
Provide players a choice with regard to gender/ethnicity/sexuality0%
At every stage of the process, simply ask "Are we being exclusionary?"0%

Gamer or QA tester? Early Access (long)

On the 16th of May 2007 the Halo 3 public Multiplayer Beta saw release for members of Microsoft's Xbox Live Subscription service. It contained 3 maps, a handful of game modes to play as well as a selection of the new weapons added in the sequel. Ostensibly the build was disseminated to test the matchmaking system, network loads and game balance but the use of an outdated iteration or 'Build', the heavy marketing and it's bundling with another…
