Started to listen at about 9 a.m. on the one single day off from work I had in a long time. Sorry, Lorin!

Not really getting where the hype for Batman is coming from.Yes it's really great game but gameplay looks just like the 3 games before that and the Batmobile isn't really that big of a deal.

Wolfenstein is awesome, I played some of it and didn't really like it at first but after an hour or so things changed and I can't wait to purchase it for myself.

I say this because I have about 5 recently released games stored in a drawer or HDDs that I've bought but haven't got to yet but hey! summer drought is around the corner :D

Lorin you lose cause it was 8 AM here when I started listening to the podcast. One thing I've learned here on EBA is that time is irrelevant, your today is someone's yesterday or tomorrow for others.

I know this conversation is supposed to be about nvidia shield but in terms of streaming from a main rig to a portable, I do that all the time with my Vita and Ps4. It is SO awesome! Playing an MMO in my hands (FFXIV) here and there while I rewatch a TV show with my friends or accessing my Ps4 games while I'm at my girlfriend's dorm room always blows me away. Its not perfect, infrastructure can always improve but Nvidia shield can deliver that same service than its something to behold.

This AF was really good!

The Order 1886 looks interesting. A bit stiff on the movement of the sight, might be because of the using of a controller.

I just wonder why so many games try to delay to the start of the year? Many games are delayed to 2015. I wonder if it is a stragetic move or Just don't think theirtitle can fin GOTY this year and tries for next year?

Shadow of Mordor looks really interesting actually, this trailer really made me want this game for sure. Gameplay mechanics is the more appropriate title of the trailer. Media Black from now on this.

I love the Batman games, will wait for  Origins GOTY before getting ti and hoping some fixes will be made till then. Batman trailer was real eyecandy. Gameplay it was not, more like some in-game footage. But the trailer was still good enough to make me want this one. Media Black on this too now. :)

Nvidia Shield seems a bit, I dunno it is not aimed at me as a PC gamer really. Still an interesting piece of tech though. The potential of the evolution of this device is more appealing to me.

Wolfenstein looks really fun. It was not really on my radar but it really looks like a blast. Will wait for sale then grab it.

South Park is just wierdly hilarious. Also a fine RPG, albeit with downscaled RPG mechanics. Still good.

MGS not my thing anymore, Raiden killed the series for me. Well MGS2 since then MGS has not been my thing. MGS3 I have heared that it is supposed to be the best but, might get the HD version. Undecided as of yet.

Basketball.. Eh.. Will not happen. Hockey on the other hand, that I'd might try.

Keep up the awesome all! Stay Frosty!

Gotta stay succinct sine I haven't much time. All I really have to say/time to say is that I tend to agree about The Pricing of Ground Zeroes, that said if you've only played the ground zeroes mission you should definitely go through the agent intel recovery missions to get some of the cassette tapes. And there are multiple tapes in that mission, so it's possible to beat it without getting the real or whole recording. That's where some of the content that was hotly debated across the internet lies. (And overall I like the gameplay okay but miss some of the stuff omitted form the series and feel even worse about the casting of kiefer than I did before it came out, really want to believe in the theories of him only being in GZ and not phantom pain, but I don't have enough reason to yet.)

Also I like the Dualshock 4 a ton, my favourite way to play spelunky and other games as of late. It's just a shame that most rockstar games specifically don't seem to support the dualshock 4 on PS3 while my other such games do, put a damper in my desires to replay max payne 3 and red dead with it.

And hearing the south park game described as challenging gave me pause to consider how different my perspective must be. xD

To the main topic...

I play a lot of mobile games, I'm a commuter so I tend to be always playing something on a 3ds, Vita, or my tablet (the latter not all that common these days)-- and I don't know if I care to play straight console ports on a handheld device.

There are obviously some that work on both platforms, Dungeon Crawlers come to mind as being rather nice on either platform.  But the large scale AAA titles, as large as the screen is on my tablet, it still is not large enough to give me the assets the way they should be played.

For handheld gaming, they need to really take advantage of the form factor and deliver something that is comfortable to play.  I don't want to stream Grand Theft Auto IV on a 7" screen, because its going to be uncomfortable and things are going to be so small I can't see them.  Also a lot of PC/Console games are not made with the concessions that a good pick up and play/put into sleep mode to crap my battery is almost dead and I don't have a save area around me!  Honestly I like the way it is right now.  but more cross saving with a version made for handheld as apposed to a stream is more of what I'd like.  *wishing that the Vita Borderlands 2 could save from my PC*

Shadow of Mordor looks like tons of fun.  I don't even like LotR and I want this game.  It reminds of some of my favourite third person platforming titles so it can't come soon enough.

The orders time period really excites me... but I dunno the game play isn't doing for me just yet.  I look forward to seeing how it develops.  Batman: AK is sort of falling under that category as well.  I want to see what it turns into before I pull trigger on any excitements.  wasn't exactly pleased with Origins.

Re: nVidia and the Shield...

I feel like nVidia is really reaching with the shield.  Not to knock the tech, I do like the idea of the Shield, but I have 0 use for it.  Granted $200 isn't very much money for a hand-held, considering the astronomical amounts people pay for phones and iPads, but I just don't see the use in one... and so far no-one else does either.

What makes nVidia's situation really odd to me is that they seem to be stuck in a position of being a go-to card for developers but continue losing ground on the gaming end-user as Sony and MS have moved towards AMD architecture for their consoles and consumers have gone for, lets face it, the lower price point of AMD. So maybe the Shield was a way to get some of those consumers back...?

A curious choice compounded by the fact that the DS seems to be the only handheld, game-centric, 'mobile' device that has seen good amounts of success.  Vita is staying afloat, but it's nowhere near the hype and following of DS users.  Did they think they could go with a "If you build it, they will come," mentality?  Did they think, like the makers of Ouya, that Android was going to take off and offer their consumers huge amounts of great content?  I just don't get it, and they haven't really told us.  Yes, they work with developers to optimize games for their cards/code, but how will a piece of hardware do that better than the already prevalent option of bundling games with video-cards?

Baffled and Confused,

Geoff
