Wow! Total War: Rome 2's metacritic score is 80% critics vs 3.8 user score. Review-scores from major sites etc are really in the toilet.

I find most user scores to be very extreme with their values so it is hard to trust them at times. You either get the best or worst game ever with most. Not that review sites are all that great either.

Currently the game is a $60 beta. That most review sites didn't address any of its problems only shows what we already knew about them. Even if patches fix the game eventually, this practice of false advertising and selling unfinished games is becoming popular and very irritating, and review sites are not helping.

I barely ever trust userscores as they tend to just encourage "I don't like one tiny thing about this game, but I want to influence the score as much as possible so fuck it, everything is either 1 star or 5"

^Rowan is exactly on the mark.

I'm the other way around. I much rather read comments to reviews than the actual comment. I simply don't trust the reviewer to address problems of the game.

Ow, I meant to say that I rather read comments than the actual REVIEW :)
