100 games in backlog yet i want to go back to playing games i already finished long time ago

41 games in my backlog. I am (and have been for over 1,5 years) in the process of eliminating my backlog. It's going so slow. Especially since I have a wife and kid. But I am getting there. Just have to make sure I don't add titles to the backlog in the mean time :)

I create categories on Steam that not only sort the backlog, but they give me a list for what to play next. I categorize by type of game, whether I know I want to finish it, or if I think it's just junk. That is quite a load of games to play, but don't be upset if a game's just not your cup of tea and move on. After all, it's like $2 w a steam sale...

Why do you bother yourselves with backlogs? You feel obligated in some way to play those games? Jut play the games you WANT to play.

Clearing a game from the backlog does not have to mean finishing it, I have removed quite a few by giving them 20 minutes and calling it done. There are still too many that I want to play though, like all the Bioshock games and Batman AO, but 100 games, jeebuz.

Well, for my part I have been raised that if you buy something you are gonna use it/experience it so you haven't wasted your money. And that sits deep in my backbone. I have however reconciled with myself that if I don't like a game after about an hour I am calling it done and moving on. Before that my ambition was to play and complete very single game. I have for the most part done that but a few I have played only a bit and then taken it off the backlog. And my only sorting in Steam is "Played" and "Not Played". I have also during these 1,5 years made an effort to play and complete the games with a shitload of gametime like Mass Effect 1 & 2, Assassins Creed 1 & 2 and the like. The only one left is GTA IV that I haven't started. At the moment I am in the process of playing and completing Super Mario Galaxy 2 though so the Steam backlog is on pause at the moment.

Im with Jeppe on that one. It just feels wrong not to fully experience something you paid for

Im the kinda guy that plays whatever the mood calls for. Thats why i buy games in sales because i know theres a time where i go, lets play that. I played Contrast not so long ago in one sitting. Scratch one of the list. Still, going back to Skyrim or Batman is stronger then finishing AC4. And so the backlog remains. If i dont like a game then i wont continue. I didnt like AC3 so i wont go back but i do like AC4. Just not now i guess.

I know that feeling all too well best_jeppe. I have plenty of games on my backlog and i just refuse to give up on them because i feel like it'd be a waste of money not to experience all the game has to offer. Yet i do play some stuff when i'm in a different mood from time to time. I think you should try to strike a balance and go for want you want to play and if it's something in your back log, so be it. Try not to force yourself too much into playing something though or you might not actually enjoy the game itself.

What We’re Watching:…

AC: Unity - The good, the bad and the ugly

The good:

- Graphics. It looks stunning and the amount of NPC's roaming through the city give the game a nice ambiance and make the city come to life like no other game has ever done before.

- Interiors. Much more inside buildings now. Fast short cuts through a house or complete missions taking place in a palace. Not every house is accessible but there is plenty of them to make it divers.

- Riddles. Less hand holding this game. Riddles and murder cases to tease the…
