I just finished playing the Ni No Kuni demo and was blown away by the art style! I'm really looking forward to this one.

Looks like what Skyward Sword should have looked like had it not been for Wii System limitations. Very beautiful

It has the potential of being one of the best RPGs this gen maybe even the best! The demo just oozed quality haven't played a game like this since Dragon Quest VIII, Level-5 really do know how to make some nice games Professor Layton and Dark Cloud/Chronicles as well :) I pre-ordered the Wizard's Edition can't wait to play it :DDD

I really want to like this game more, but the Demo didn't really grab me. I am a fan of Studio Ghibli, and while I think they got their art style down, I still feel a lot of the animations are too robotic and similar to most JRPG games. I'm also wary of Level 5 because I thought White Knight Chronicles was quite bad. I have really high standards for them to beat. I'd like to see more of the game once reviews and videos hit the net to try and judge if I will like the game as a whole.
Not sure if I will like the story or characters, thats another important point. So far it seems to have potential but I didn't really like Drippy in the Demo, and the part with the Guards seemed like generic Japanese anime fluff. Could be fun, but if all I am doing is going on fetch quests for emotions to spread, that might be just as boring as any other game.

When you get to the overworld after you kill the guardian in the forest I thought about how a game like the first Legend of Zelda might look today with those graphics. Skyward Sword would look even better.

I thought the demo was decent, but I fell in love with the art style. The tutorial (if you can even call it that) was kind of useless, though. But I saw so much potential in the game. what's included in the Wizard's Edition?

I suspect this game will be a critical darling and reviews will be mostly positive. If I pre-order it now, I can get the exclusive steelbook =S ugh i think i'll wait two to three weeks. I've already spent way too much money on video games this month alone.

@Annoraxx

Wizard's Edition Includes:

  • The game Ni No Kuni
  • 300 page hardback physical copy of The Wizard’s Companion
  • A plush doll of Drippy
  • Exclusive “golden mite” and “golden drongo” DLC familiars.

I would of preferred if it included the Original Soundtrack as I usually only really care for the Artbook and OST in Collector's Editions unless the other goodies are good quality but the 300 hardbook is well worth it imo :)

I would of loved to have the steelbook but I hate the fact that is it only exclusive to Gamestop and is only available in the US :/ these retailer exclusive bonuses are so bullshit...

@Alexander Arts

While White Knight Chronicles wasn't the best of games I still liked it as it was pretty different from most RPGs especially if you played it with others after you have completed the game it does add huge amount of extra content to the game and is alot of fun :P (that's if you can find others to play with) I haven't played WKC2 yet though.

Sonic 2: My First Game Analysis Using MGD

Hi Axeheads,

At the request of CountDrac, I have posted my first game analysis, which I wrote for my Game History class. This is a design paper analyzing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, my favorite platformer of my childhood, using the Modes, Goals, and Dynamics model. Please enjoy, and I'll follow up any questions. I plan to write a similar Dark Souls paper this week.
