Mojang? Really? They've made what, one game, and they are higher than Nintendo? :/

@Aussie Legend It's a list from 2013, not 1992 :P

But seriously, maybe I've missed it, but I did not find CD Project Red anywhere. THAT would make this list terrible!

No developer with 1 good game should be listed to be honest, a good developer should be based on consistency over many games. Making a 1 hit smash game doesn't mean they are a good developer.

343 Industries, PlayDead, Riot Games and Majong shouldn't even be on the list imo

Where are all the handheld developers? They really didn't do enough research...

No Level-5 & CEO Japan Studio :(

I never played Minecraft, but I think Mojang can be put on that list as he stands for a whole model of game development. And even if CD Project Red only has two big titles, The Witcher and The Witcher 2, the quality of the games and how they handle fan service plus their involvement with GOG.com makes them a good candidate for a spot among the top 10 developers, let alone among the top 50.

WayForward is almost strictly a handheld or e-shop developer; the only thing that wasn't was A Boy and His Blob. There's a decent representation of indie developers here, too. I agree CDPR should have been there somewhere, just for their dedication to making mature games -- not by rating but by subject matter.

And Mojang is just as Equinoxe said. They may only have one game out, but it was such a hit from such a tiny developer that in turn shed a lot of light on the idea of independent publishing and buying an entire game during its ongoing creation. Before Minecraft, were their really that many games in the public eye that were selling well and still nowhere near completion? It was kind of like Kickstarter before Double Fine opened the industry's eyes to that avenue.

Dear Microsoft

Hi Microsoft its me, the little guy who's been buying your consoles for the last ten years. Just wanted to let you now how excited I was by your new console reveal. Sure I would have liked to see more games (maybe even one being played) but I get why you didn't go that route. The reveal was a focus on the system itself right and you wanted to keep it relevant to actual specs and functionality, like when you announced a Halo TV show. Things like that were why people tuned in and I'm sure its…
