Comment by Amrit Randay on February 23, 2013 at 1:25pm @Mincho Hristov Ivanov I haven't bought it, and don't plan on buying it. What made you think I bought it? I just wish more gamers would not buy it because that's the only reason any of this continues.
I'm just saying, it doesn't matter who the developer is, we should try to stop buying into this season pass nonsense. It's basically saying, "for just $30 more, you can have the full game."

Comment by Amrit Randay on February 23, 2013 at 3:04pm It's not even to mention that the season pass is full of DLC that no one has any idea if it's good or not, or exactly what kind of content it is. I wish publishers would stop demanding so much trust from us and expecting us to drop money on shit we know nothing about, and instead earn our money and trust. They just keep expecting more and more from us, and it's all getting to be a bit too much.
If we would all stop pre-ordering games for bullshit extra guns, or map packs, or extra armor sets and the pre-order bonus business would dissapear too. Lots of careless consumers that just don't seem to have any self control really..

Comment by Docwoor on February 24, 2013 at 1:33am blizzard is doing expansion packs? The last one they did was "frozen throne" in 2003. Wow doesnt count since you have to pay a monthly subscription and the content packs. Which is a total rip off imho. Starcraft is going down as a trilogy of full games. Ripping us off again, what diablo will do i dont know. I simply dont care about blizzard anymore.
But to get back on topic. I bought a season pass once, for BF3 because of friends, out off all the content packs that were released in the season pass, i like only one. and i feel ripped off beacause of that. they changed the gameplay to something thats not battlefield imho, and i did not know that in advance. im never buying season passes every again.
i have mixed feelings about individual dlc, its mostly bad... but i got most of the story dlc for the mass effect franchise. i like the setting, i've read most of the books played through every game at least twice and i wanted more story. but paying 15-20€ for a 2h long mission is unacceptable. dlc is so overpriced imho.
same goes for microtransactions, in the beginning microtransactions used to be just that, you pay a little something and thats it. now you have to pay 7€ for a gun thats unlockable for only one character, or 2€ for another quickbar slot, thats again available for only one character... unless you subscribe...
i will not subscribe to games, ffs i dont have time to play that much... i play very sporadically, not even every week...
i want to pay for the game like i used to and then play on my own time.
screw that im gonna go read a book.
Comment by Rialce on February 24, 2013 at 3:31am @Docwoor Wings of Liberty released at $60. Heart of the Swarm, and likely Legacy of the Void, will be releasing at the expansion price of $40. HotS requires Wings of Liberty, no less.
As for season passes, they're with my stance on DLC. If I have no interest in it or am uncertain of its worth, I don't buy it. But I understand others may find worth in it, and they get a discount on DLC they'd eventually buy. Think Call of Duty; most of its players will buy the map packs just to keep up with friends that buy them, so buying the Pass saves them a bit of money.
In example, I've purchased a few Season Passes: one for Gears 3, one for Battlefield 3 and, just recently, Borderlands 2. Only Gears 3 was before the day of release, and it served me very well. Every one came with something I liked and used, as I expected it to, but I'm also a die-hard fan that's gone so far as to read all of the books. BF3 and BL2 were after multiple packs were already released, and at a discounted price. Got Halo 4's for free with the LE; didn't buy the LE for the Pass, so it's not so bad that I've used it less than expected.
I didn't buy Assassin's Creed 3's because I figured I would drift from the initial game anyway, and I unfortunately did. I won't buy Infinite's until I play the actual game, same for Tomb Raider. Not that I fear they'll not deliver, just that I assume their initial offerings will be enough to satisfy me. Plus, March is too packed with releases for me to expect much time with them to begin with, let alone with extra content.
That said, I've played dozens of subscription MMOs (sometimes simultaneously) for over a decade now, so paying for something upfront for future benefit doesn't sit as sourly with me as it may others.

As I am typing this, we're deep inside the annual summer gaming drought of 2013. The last interesting current gen game I played was Bioshock Infinite. I'm now waiting patiently for The Last of Us to drop through the mail slot. In the interim, I have amused myself by going back and playing a whole bunch of the old Metroid titles. And I've had an absolute blast doing so. It's been one of the most nostalgic and satisfying gaming periods of my entire life. I replayed and finished all five of the…
After some discussion with the axeheads I asked myself what I want out of the next generation of gaming. And my answer is suprising. |It is neither better grafics or better AI. It does not even have to do with hardware.
What I want from the next generation the most is the introduction of used game sales for digital games. As soon as one of the major platforms does that I will go all digital, never looking back.
So, what would you like to see?
This bold statement was made by Nintendo and features on the Polygon site.

Step one: its EpicBattleCry! E3 2013 has played host to exciting game news, dramatic moments, and, some would claim, out-and-out homicide. From EA dropping the AT-AT foot to Jack Tretton dropping the mic, this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo will certainly go down as one of the most memorable. With DK still on full-time looking-good-in-LA duty, Brent and Tony sat down to discuss Nintendo's showing at this year's show, the fallout (good and bad) from Sony and…

The Last Of Us is a slow game, intentionally slow, because it has a story to tell and takes the time to do it. Naughty Dog knows that if you're not making an "action" game, then you need to engage…Continue
