Games to cost $69(:P) next-gen, according to EA. EA, just fuck off, please. You're ruining everything.. http://ning.it/13AEIw4

So it'll take them two months more to hit the bargain range below 20 bucks.
Comment by Esteban Manriquez on March 4, 2013 at 12:30pm
They cost more than that now, so it will most likely be a lot higher than $69 anyway. People always forget that it's been pay lump now and pay as you go for the full experience for a while now
Comment by Hokum on March 4, 2013 at 12:46pm
Adjusted for inflation that is about what $59 was in 2005 with the 360 launch. Btw, back in 1993 MK2 for the SNES was $157 here in Norway, today that is $245!!!

It just means that I will be waiting for games to hit the sweet $29.99 to $39.99 price point more often! And @estaban, exactly. There's still all the season pass, online pass, and microtransaction bullshit. I wonder if we should actually count how much we spent on one game to really see how much it actually costs. It's definitely not only $60.

I got the article from a facebook page called LT3 (give them a like, bringing females gamers the cred they deserve) and people from Australia (for example) are saying things like, "We already pay hundreds of dollars, so $69 dollars is nothing." Newsflash, if the price is supposedly going to increase in the North American region, it's going to increase in all regions around the world. -_-

With a "season pass" it's closer to $100. Don't forget micro-transactions. Meanwhile you can get next-gen right now on the PC and pay $49 or less on games.
Comment by Berserkaren on March 4, 2013 at 1:03pm
If no one buys the passes it will disappear. If no one microtransactions on fullpriced games it will disappear. If people don't buy games at launch and wait for a price drop then the price will get down to the $50-60 price range for next-gen.

@Berserkaren And that's the problem right there. It seems like most gamers are like crack addicts and need every experience right now, regardless of the price. The only reason all this shit exists is because we as gamers all let it. It might not be us, individually, because I would imagine EBA is a part of the vocal minority against the crap. It's everyone else that needs to understand that this shouldn't be acceptable.

We all let horrible DLC, season passes, online passes, on disc DLC, and the horrible pre-order shenanigans become the norm.

So buy 10 games for consoles, or get a low end gaming pc, and pay next to nothing for games on sales + all the f2p goody-ness you can imagine. next gen consoles are looing less and less attractive with every single piece of news i read.

For those of you who don't already know, EA's PR department was out rather quickly after that talk was given to correct Rajat Taneja. They confirmed pricing schemes from 0.99$ to 59.99$, going on to say that it was a slip of the tongue. Whether or not that is the case, we'll have to see once the PS4 and Xbox720 arrive on store shelves along with their respective launch line up.

@Player One Well, that's good to know.

I'm Making A Game

Actually that's been the plan for a while now I just failed to mention it here before. I did type up a development document, track down freeware programs to make it and finished the concept art work. Then I spent the last four months doing nothing. I recently came to the conclusion that my idea, while interesting, was waaaay too ambitious a project for me to undertake right now. I hope to revisit the idea sometime in the future but for now it's very much in storage.

So why bring this…
